Durthu remains my OG WH favourite... angry nature and all that. Only faction I enjoy more are the VC. Interested to see your approach to this....
Wood elves are my favourite. If Ikit and Morghur behave I'll go kill Kemmler. Otherwise.... they're first.

@@the13thwarrior8 You can on Turn 1 join wars for other order factions like Reikland and Wissenland, etc for money. Added to the money from the two first battles, this can give you enough to recruit a Lord on T1, upgrade Waterfall Palace and then a tun of so later upgrade The Oak and keep your troops upgraded. After taking out Paravon I usually hit Massif Orcal and de-fang Grom before he gets out of hand. You can raise Orcal for BIG money and leave the ruin for Fey Enchantress. Really that area has so many variables. If Grom or Kemmler role high potential they spam units like mad on Legendary, and if Grom gets potential AND Waagh... Best to take hm out ASAP.
You are right to go for the Branch Wraith building T2 ASAP to get Treekin. If you can get a wraith with the mini mortis engine, so much the better. Don't forget the first 3-pointer in the Blue Line massively buffs gold from battles and I think raising (?)
Yeah, I have a tonne of Murder of Spites Branchwraiths, though most of them are malevolent. And while they're Wood Elf, I try to keep to only the normal ones unless I'm playing as Drycha. Bit of role playing.
