    I recognize that this has the potential to backfire. It's a risk to make this but if this series ends up getting dunked on en masse, there should be at least one video can that be immediately constructive. It's not a public service but I figured it could be of some help to have it out sooner rather than later.

    I think at the moment the biggest concern is how the Saber video on Chip Chilla will turn out. The tweets he sent were....kind of scuffed in the sense that he misinterpreted the meaning of an episode in a way that I feel if done wrong could lead to it being the blood for the conservative piranhas to begin their feasting. I think if Saber scuffs up his video it could lead to a backfiring effect and potentially lead to Chip Chilla to become more well known. For now we can only wait...

      The one of biggest content creators in the Bluey Community is currently in the process of making a video about the show, when I first heard of it I thought people were just kind of laughing a bit because it seemed to be like rip-off, but learning a few days later about its political background and backlash online, it was pretty surreal to see so much discourse in the Bluey community, from what I've heard from other people who have gotten out of their way to watch it say it's very Meh, but only time will tell how this develops.

      Saberspark has been so irresponsible with his platform lately, I know in one of his videos he listed the wrong creator for a show he criticized and then showed their twitter account on screen like he somehow didn’t expect his fanbase to harass them?? It’s really sad to see as a long time fan, and i’m 100% dreading this next video. I don’t trust him to do it right at all, especially since his videos don’t really veer that much into political territory. Or at least, not from what i’ve seen.

    This feels like a modern model of the Christian cartoons of the 90s that was... serviceable at least for its target audience at the time but is mocked by onlookers for their preachiness to one demographic and most don't stand the test of good writing with ofc exception to Veggietales and even Bibleman has its tongue-in-cheek campiness. I would believe Bentkey's shows have... average to subpar writing.
    From a Christian perspective I get those parents would want kids content with precurated assurance without them having to comb through mainstream media first, but I'd go with a TV parenting model that allows both specialized streaming and mainstream media together and parents should be ready to teach their kids to discern the themes antithetical to the Bible but also appreciate the artistic talent and universal agreeable themes that goes into the shows. Engaging in popular culture to be a presence and not totally rejecting it at the first sign of sins like Conservatives declare they do, they're not all Christian and humble and it's sad to see a well-meaning group devolve into overzealous tribalism.

Consider Angel Studios broadening their horizons to make Christian-adjacent animated series like The Wingfeather Saga, Gabriel and the Guardians, and The Axiom Chronicles. An amusing anecdote I found: Someone said they watched a video with a conservative pundit talking about trying to watch Chip Chilla with their kids. The kids were really bored and wanted to watch something else. Even other conservatives don't like this stuff. I think that demonstrates the problem with DW+ perfectly.
    Like how bad Christian content expects THEIR audience to buy it entirely on the grounds of it being Christian, the conservative lean is all the DW+ shows seem to have going for them, as opposed to likable characters and engaging stories. They're not here to entertain their audience, they're here to pander to them and push particular beliefs and ideals onto the outsiders. Gee, where have we heard THAT before? 🤔
    Once you disregard the sleazy, hateful dumpster fire that is the "anti-woke" movement, all you're left with is a bunch of cheap, hollow bootlegs of shows people actually like. So I don't think DW+ will be a success. Even if it does become a meme, every meme dies before too long. The interest will fade, and once it's all said and done, it won't even have ironic hate-watchers to show for itself.

    Good video. The problem for these guys is unlike most mainstream media content that comes from a genuine place of inspiration, these guys just make stuff for the sake of griffting. That clip at 4:18 and this who thing's reason for existing, the Florida and Disney situation, sums up the problem with this perfectly. Considering that these people when they complain about the "woke" stuff in movies in TV shows, they A. don't actually watch the content or B. they may sit down and watch it, but don't actually pay attention to what actually happens, and just cherry pick whatever to further their agenda. I'm somewhat "Anti-Woke" myself, but even I'll say 99% of the stuff they say is just flat out stupid. This whole situation is, in my opinion, a good example as to why people who's whole life centers around nothing, but politics, should not engage in pop-culture/ any form of entertainment, except news. As even if they try to be genuine, no one will take them seriously, as it'll nearly always been as ether griffting/ just another way to further their political agenda. I also agree with your points that the artists who worked on this should not be blacklisted from the industry, or ells we're going to get more stuff like this.

    • @thenightstar8312
      @thenightstar8312 8 месяцев назад

      And it's not JUST a grift, here. Don't ever forget that this is Dailywire's method to subverting the system, in their view, and using it to start producing "bland" and "unoffensive" things at first and slowly warp it into hateful propaganda over time. That's exactly the way PragerU and their presence on RUclips has worked, they're just taking it to the next stage of the plan. The entire Right-Wing's playbook is to sow hatred, fear, and bigotry in all things. They already captured the hearts and minds of everyone over the age of 50 in this 'white makes right' country of today, but they also began radicalizing people against minorities, against gay people, against all their "evil boogymen" that they are trying to radicalize hate mobs against in order to torch and tear down the rights of everyone but the white cis colonizer manifest destinty aryan neo-nazi.
      This country barely survived the lasting damage that Trump had done, and Dailywire's plan to normalize bland things like Chip Chilla's and sow those seeds into children's minds, means they'll have the stakes it needs to fill more children's minds with their bigoted, self-serving values, once it's time for them to hit their button and make the Chinchilla's teach their now captive audience that it's not ok to be gay and all the cops that kill unarmed black people are just your happy police friends that just want to "clean up the inner city for you".

    Galerians was one of those clones and while it’s still a clone the developers added some new things to make the game stand out instead of fighting the monsters YOU are the monster trying to fight off enemies!

    The 2020's animation landscape is very similar to the 1980's situation. Most cartoons out there only exist either to sell merchandise or to be a moral substitute (for more info on this, visit TV Tropes). Also classic cartoons being rebooted/spun off again and again like Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, Adventure Time, and Tom & Jerry. The 80's also did this when they rebooted The Jetsons, Scooby Doo (again), and that awful Tom & Jerry comedy show. Also apparently Bluey is woke and I have no idea how it is woke (and I hate wokeism myself), so now we have this knock-off Bluey called Chip Chilla. Decent animation, but from the looks of it the show is pretty boring and uninspired.

Like my mother was very against any progression and my father was easily swayed to keep the peace, I literally grew up on VeggieTales and Bible Man. I remember visting my aunt after we finally upgraded our cable set at home and being upset we had to watch VeggieTales tales on DVD. Parents aren't horrible people for minding their kids media consumption, if anything I feel too many don't care about what they see online, but this is just gross. I can easily think of many kids shows any Christian family would let their child watch, and the sicking thing is too many are "too woke" despite being made in the 80s and 90s. Things aren't "too woke" now a days, these people are just regressing into the worst humanity has to offer. There are so many good, wholesome, and family oriented shows out there, I can easily list more then 5 off the top of my head! This is just lazy and uncaring at best, neglectful at worst and is certainly setting these kids to fail! The world doesn't run on the backs of billionaires, in fact it's ran on the back of every community out, there suffering because of these billionaires! It's so gross to teach these children otherwise. Theres no heart or soul in these shows, its lifeless and heartbreaking to know kids will have to deal with this, and the consequences of this type of garbage they're being pumped full of.

    I find your take on this actually quite fascinating because it's something I've been wrestling with for a while now. As a right leaning person myself, I honestly cannot stand this shit anymore. Republicans will bait democrats, democrats will bait Republicans, and the cycle continues OVER and OVER and OVER again over the stupidest of fucking shit. It's a hell cycle of mental gymnastics I just can't care for anymore. but you HAVE to. Otherwise dumbasses and grifters will insidiously weed themselves into your space. While I don't agree with some areas you hit in the video (they were minor) it's obvious that this heated shit cannot continue, or it's going to sink corporate America and art as well down with it. Right leaning people have to stop coming at art from a soulless blank state or trying to "own" people, and liberals have to be able to work with ideas they don't like and stop being adamant about shoving left wing stuff in kids' shows. Neither shows/movies made under each model are good, and they suck so much ass.
    For example, all these Chip Chilla/Tuttle Twins/live-action Snow White things just reinforce the hypocrisy of conservatives in which they just shove their own weird philosophy into the script rather than make something that flows naturally. There is no original ideas. They just want to ape Disney and change it to be milquetoast, semi-christian nonsense. Meanwhile liberals are just shoving their twitter bio and mental issues into each project that absolutely NO ONE wants to hear about in a cartoon for 10-12 year olds. It's just about drilling what they want to see into the show, with no care for how the script or show flows whatsoever.
    These shows have no thesis. They have no drive. There is no artist statement behind the material. They just copy what they see without understanding what they are working with, exploring or lecturing the audience about. The reason why Bluey works is because it is divorced from the culture wars. It is pure, a lightning in a bottle, isolated idea coming from actual normal people who give a damn about telling a story about parenting in the 21st century. Chip Chilla is not about anything, other than trying to be like Bluey and doing it "based." It's the same for all these woke reboots as well. Ghostbusters, Star Wars, the end of Marvel, He-Man, all the shit people are mad about. They just took great stories and shoved "Los Angeles culture" into them. But in turn, we continue to get shit like that because people won't stop outrage farming.
    Art is in the shitter because no one cares about making a good story or idea, they just want to "own" each other or prove they are right and fucking you out of as much money as possible. I have never seen more immorality or greed in my life. I just wanted to vent somewhere because as an artist trying to make it, it's making me feel sad. I don't know where to sit anymore, but I can't just say nothing. It feels like having schizophrenia trying to navigate everyone and their anger bombs, I wish I could just not have to deal with it anymore. I just want to make stuff that showcases the world as it is and involves/explores everyone. But you can't do that. If you include stuff from a progressive or conservative worldview, you get fucking dragged and your thing becomes a martyr. It's enraging.
    Rant over. Sorry for shitting up your comment section.

    Chip Chilla has a similar problem to that Primos show Disney annouced. In that it feels like a lot of creatives don't have much strong opinions on their own work and are just driven to create lame focused tested bullshit.
    and it kind of sucks. I am a conservative but Chip Chilla is another thing following current industry trends while claiming to be counter cultural.

    its children's content for conservative parents who have a RIGHT to decide what their kids watch. If you're concerned about how children are suceptible to indoctrination, the Daily Wire breaking the Monopoly that the left has on children's entertainment is actually an important step for children to have access to different perspectives.

      @ladysegagenesis 7 месяцев назад

      While I do agree with seeing more indie focused content getting more popular, I don't agree with your view on DW. The problem isn't that it feels anti-"woke" the problem is that it feels corporate/doesn't have a reason to exist. Like as someone pointed out before most of the shows on the platform (from what they had seen at least) feel way too similar to older shows without giving them their own spin. Like as mentioned before Chip Chilla feeling like a direct copy of Bluey. Not to say it was bad because it copied another existing property (Bluey itself was made an Australian equivalent to a British cartoon called Peppa Pig) but the problem is that it didn't understand what made Bluey good! The reason why so many people fell in love with Bluey was because it was a creative, fun, charming, & mature show! It only felt like DW only heard about Buley's popularity and since it was popular tried to make it look like that without any of the positive stuff I just mentioned about Bluey. In fact, why do conservatives need to show kids these shows when they could just show them, the stuff they grew up with if they are so worried about modern shows being "woke"?
