Hey Joe, just picked up an ITS in the same color configuration. Added the copper wheels afterwards. Picked up my car at MSRP with zero dealer add ons. Shocking since I'm located in SoCal. Love the car. It's a special ride.
Awesome I need a good manual before their gone. Maybe the 2025 prelude hybrid coupe will be a manual. Integra coupe too? Integra type s looks so much better in person.
If you go for a golf R your also going to get a heavier gauge of German sheet metal that’s not a ding monster and after three years you’ll appreciate that
Great review! We are in the market for a new vehicle for my wife of over 37 years and she loves her 2012 VW GTI Autobahn DSG 2-door (stage 1 APR) we purchased new. So, a new Golf R is in the cards so to speak. I drive an 18 BMW M5 (F90) and prior to the M5 I had a BMW M3 (F80) both purchased new. However, my frugal wife does not want to spend over 60k on her next vehicle and even less money would make her happy. We both drove manual transmissions back in the day and when I was in high school back in 1980, I had a 71 Plymouth Cuda 440, 6-pack with a 4 speed (pistol grip shifter) that I keep kicking myself for selling. My last manual transmission vehicle was a 2012 Corvette Z06/Z07 (C6) and I transitioned to an automatic 2014 Corvette Z51 (C6). Living in Southern California, most Golf R’s and Integra Type S’s have a mark-up ranging from 5 - 20k over MSRP. We have been on a list since January of 2023 for a new Golf R at MSRP. This past week the dealership contacted us but the Golf R was in the color white instead of blue which my wife wants. I told my wife she needs to drive the Integra Type S and we did this past weekend. Engaging vehicle to drive but the lack of automatic transmission is a no go for us. If I had my way, I would have her driving a new, M3, M2, Audi RS3, and Cayman GTS. The aforementioned vehicles cost more but since my wife is frugal and as they say, happy wife happy life, we are looking at vehicle in the 50k range. One vehicle we just test drove which is now high on the list is the BMW X1 M35i, DSG transmission and as optioned at 58k and reduced to 53k after a quick negotiation puts it in line with the pricing of the Integra Type S.
After driving both the Integra Type S and Golf R I would purchase the Golf R. My reason is, the Golf R is a more refined and upscale vehicle in my opinion over the Integra. If you are considering either of these vehicles consider spending more on the BMW M2 or the Porsche Cayman GTS if it is in the budget.
The MK8 generation is hard to beat for the price. I find the Golf R a superior driving experience to the new BMW. I think BMW has lost the plot as far as steering feel & looks.
I mean, we watch Raitis videos all the time, but everytime we see an Acura Integra or Honda R model, we pay extra attention. One of our absolute fav channels

Thanks for the awesome review Joe. Considering that the msrp is $52,000 is a head scratcher with the missing features that you pointed out. For a little over $5,000 more the TLX type S has by far way more features like SH-AWD, ventilated seats, rear air vents, etc; It's also faster, bigger, and a better value for your money. I know manuals are awesome but if it were me I would even bat an eye at the integer and just go TLX in Tigers Eye!

I know a lot can change in two years, but I will be in the market for a new vehicle then and thanks to Raiti's Rides I keep narrowing down the options for my next vehicle. This Integra Type S was high on the list of possibilities, but your review has pretty much having me scratching it off. I don't think car manufacturers nowadays understand just how much $52,000 is. And for that kind of money, me as the consumer, should and does demand more for my money. The number one zonk I have with this car is the complete disregard for the rear seat amenities. This kills me, because the exterior of the car is KILLER! I love it. But, the interior is ok in the front and when going to the back interior, it is complete poo poo. That's what a $25,000 car should look like, not a $52,000 car. Anyway, my number one vehicle on my list is still standing strong, the VW Atlas Cross Sport. We'll see what happens in two years and in the world of cars, a lot can and will happen and I will probably change my mind many times and I will keep watching Raiti's Rides to help me along the way.
I would suggest the Ford Escape Plug-in hybrid. It's $47k with lots of amenities, FWD, and better fuel economy. The Integra is a lot faster and better cargo room though
Did you just compare a suv to a little sports car? You should have looked at the MDX type s. I have a type s MDX, and it's amazing way way better than atles
Yes I mostly agree with you. $52k is disgusting for everything this car has missing. The new Elantra N is a better car except it's a Hyundai. A couple of years ago that kind of money bought you a Kia Stinger which is way better than this Honda on steroids.
Truly sad they’re calling it a type s not a type R it takes away from how special the car is but I always prefer gloss black over flat black. I wish there would have been a ITR type spoiler.
😂😂😂 great review as always! You can always count on s raiti rides review if your in the market or a car ethicist! Thanks always for a great review and a good laugh!💪🏽
I can’t believe it doesn’t have navigation! That’s the first time I ever heard that on this car. I don’t know I guess I wasn’t paying attention the last review you did on the model!🤪
I like most of what they did with this design. However, I have a wish list as follows: 1. Seats could be more bolstered. Even if not as much as the Type R but just a little more would have been nicer. This I have to get used to. May be I will pay for some bolstering to be added to the seats. 2. Passenger seat should be electric. Not a deal breaker as I mostly drive this car alone. 3. A little less gloss black. Especially the center console could be a different material. 4. I think most of us agree this car should have a sunroof. 5. The white ambient LED lights at the front doors should change colors with drive mode change to match the dash lighting as white/blue/red. This is exactly how it works with the MDX. Why didn't they do the same with this car? Interior materials could use less cheap plastic on the doors and more metal or a different material that looks more luxurious. This may be just me being picky but after driving MB AMG cars, almost any other interior looks cheap. 6. The muffler could be a little deeper/louder when accelerating. I do like the pops and crackles that it makes. A resonator delete increases the joy. 7. The cluster could be more fun and customizable for Sport+ mode. Not a deal breaker. 8. Cooling seats. At least if they aren't light weight performance seats they should be cooled and heated. Not a deal breaker. Can't wait to take it to the track with at least suspension and wheels mods. Gets a lot of attention!
I have an A Spec trim with the CVT which I like very much. This looks like a real performance beast but $52K sounds pretty steep to me. After the STEALERSHIP markup it doesn't look like a good deal at all.
It's a good ride and you could have it for about $28,000 on a returned lease. We have like 5 3 series in the family and theyre really reliable based on rankings @@davidp2888
@@Striker50_if Acura add everything people are requesting to this car you will end up with another fat 🐖 TLX-S with reduced agility and performance compared to the CTR. People will bitch about that too. No way to make everyone happy. Acura did an excellent job bringing the same level of performance and added a few goodies to make it unique.
$52,000 but missing so many extras that you can get on cheaper cars. Acura has lost it. It reminds me of Canada getting many extras on the Honda Civic that are unavailable, for no reason, in the US, but still blows my mind. Great review as always. Maybe they should have you review the cars BEFORE they release them, so you can stop them from making such bone headed decisions.
Acura didn’t lost it. You are lost. First the idea behind this car is to bring the formula of the CTR to Acura while keeping the same level of performance. You can’t achieve that with a moonroof that changes the center of gravity and add weight with many other features expected on a luxury brand. The car is perfect the way it is. Inflation is affecting everyone. Imagine paying 40’s for a Hyundai Elantra. Well is already happening.
@@Marbind I get what you're saying, but they could easily have delete options to lower the weight for people that plan to use it for the track. Even with inflation, this car should be less expensive than it is.
They deleted options for that reason many people are complaining. It should cost less but in the last couple of years car prices jumped really high due to inflation. We have midsize pickup trucks in the 60 to 70Ks right now. Everything is more expensive. Isn't Acura's fault and they aren't the only ones either. @@kevinschaefer9060
@@RaitisRides the Type S goes for $55,000 in SoCal . The BMW M2 base is going for $65,000 . When the Type S first came out my local dealer had one for $60,000
Thanks again for another great video. I’m debating that too, I owned a WRX STI before my current Wrangler, do you think the Type S will perform good in snow? I’m in Ontario Canada, snows a lot during winter, currently thinking about Golf R, Type S, S3
Totally different question. Looking at these three. Integra Type S 2018 Shelby Gt 350 2022 CT4 black wing. Cost around 55000 Integra GT 350 - around 60 - CT4 black wing around 60 I know they are totally different. Just curious because I’m conflicted.
I would agree they drive fantastically but i had one and it was by far the worst reliable new car I’ve ever owned and the dealership experience matched it unfortunately.
I’m glad you brought up all the de-contenting. We own two Acuras, including an Integra ASPEC 6 Speed Manual. For the price, this is too “Acura Light.” Makes the Golf R look like a value, or spend a little more and get an M2.
@@RaitisRidesFYI, I’m not particularly happy about our Integra Aspec 6 Speed (again too Acura light, seats not very comfortable - especially the passenger seat, which lacks height adjustment, no onboard navigation for when you don’t have a cellular connection - Civic Type R and Civic Touring has Nav), but at the much lower price point - okay, I get it. At 50 something thousand, I’m sorry, but to take out the sunroof, memory seats, power passenger seat, etc. Still no onboard navigation for when I begin my trip in a dead spot, etc. Looks like they didn’t really want to improve the seats at all. It’s too rushed a product at a too high price point.
No rear ac And armrest is crazy also how they forget the memory seats and no electric seats for the passenger did Acura rush this thing out or something it’s not worth the 52 maybe mid 40’s but it looks fun to drive
@@Striker50_ This car should have been $40-42k but with the outgoing de-tuned 2.0T from the Honda Accord Sport. 275hp/275tq would have been great. Then they could have made a true halo car and called it the Integra Type R and included SH-AWD for $50k.
The car sounds like a leaf blower thats why they have to add sound to the interior and tune in pops and bangs. I heard those 2.0 turbo engines suffer from head gasket failure at a lower rate than the 1.5. all in all, I do like the styling of the car. A smart buyer would take advantage of Acura's generous lease offers and enjoy the car worry free.
Has someone driven the Type S? I haven't driven a Golf R, but a GTI. I like the small and nimble feel of the VW. But right now, I'd rather have the Acura. Yet I wonder if it *feels* too big? Does it have that hot-hatch feel, or is it more like driving a sports sedan?
A strong 43k , I think the interior is lacking a lot of the luxury feel being a luxury side of the brand , they could’ve given it a lot more if they wanted it to go for that over 50k price i think
clearly aimed at the guy who wants a tuner car with a factory warranty however 30 aspect ratio tires in the bay area would mean a cracked rim in the first week due to the potholes. i want a performance car with fat tires. i realize it is a tradeoff but there's no way this would work for me. good catch on the dumb gloss black around the shifter. when are they going to drop that tacky plastic stuff.
Hi Joe! Considering you have driven the Supra, Nissan Z, Type R, Mustang GT, and this one, which do you like the best (manual transmission)? Is this your 2nd option after Porsche's 911? TY!
It does but don’t cry when something as simple as the battery dies. The replacement cost is absurd. In general, maintaining a BMW is crazy expensive. Can't imagine a M3. 😂
Fun fact: Racers are doing better laps with the suspension controller of the ITS in their CTRs. The saying that the CTR has better suspension is a myth.

Awesome review as usual Joe? Question. Is the Integra and Golf R going head to head? Asking because the Integra is considered a 'luxury' brand
Well the golf R has always had a premium level interior
Very sharp looking…….the white looks awesome ……on throttle !!!
Let's do this Tom!
Personal opinion.
What would you buy Joe? Type s or golf r and why ?
Its honestly impossible not to love this guy!
Oh wow! That is so awesome of you to say!
50k plus for a vehicle in 2024 but no cool seats is a massive thumbs down
You are spot on!
7:45 “wham bam thank you ma’am I love that rear end” 😂
I can’t believe it doesn’t have navigation! That’s the first time I ever heard that on this car. I don’t know I guess I wasn’t paying attention the last review you did on the model!🤪
Phone nav works better anyway. 🤷🏻♂️
It is craziness!
I want this car so bad 😢 maybe one day 10 years from now
Fingers crossed for you!
The exact comparison I was looking for! Great content!
The best channel car reviewer , i hope your channel would grow more
I can't do it without your great support!
How does this compare to your type R, I don’t ever plan on doing at day, but I do like some of the features of the type s
I like most of what they did with this design. However, I have a wish list as follows:
Those are some great siggestions.
I have an A Spec trim with the CVT which I like very much. This looks like a real performance beast but $52K sounds pretty steep to me. After the STEALERSHIP markup it doesn't look like a good deal at all.
I know how you feel about the markup
Love this car great video Joe
As you should!
Considering getting a BMW 330i. Seems like a lot of car for the money.
Go 340i if you can.
@@Troy-fv9uq I don't need that much power. lol
Wait until the first service bill shows up 😂
You will remember this comment.
It's a good ride and you could have it for about $28,000 on a returned lease. We have like 5 3 series in the family and theyre really reliable based on rankings @@davidp2888
This is so very true but it is a blast to drive.
The widebody styling makes the car look more attractive!
This is so very true Bryan!
Great vid as always. Opinion vs the new Mustang GT for an all around daily/weekender fun car? Those are the two I’m looking at and just can’t decide.
If you want it all then go Integra.
Currently have a tuned Stinger GT1, but man is this thing hot. If I was still in the market this would be very tempting.
Over 50K and no hood struts and no passenger controls on seat. Unacceptable!
Worth every dime. The seat that matters is power 😎
Just drive it and you’ll forget about all of the missing features.
Hood struts are for cars that require constant maintenance.
Is a waste of money on this K20C😂
Let me know how you do an oil change without opening the hood@@Marbind
@@Striker50_ A thing that happens every 6k to 7k. Nice try champ.
No cooled seats, no power passenger seat, and no sunroof for $52,000. That's a triple zonk.💥💥💥
no fog lights, missing 5th seat and arm rest. etc. They cut a lot of items on this car.
It'll likely be $58,000 otd if bought at msrp plus financing
@@Striker50_if Acura add everything people are requesting to this car you will end up with another fat 🐖 TLX-S with reduced agility and performance compared to the CTR. People will bitch about that too. No way to make everyone happy.
Acura did an excellent job bringing the same level of performance and added a few goodies to make it unique.
I feel your pain!
Type S over Golf R, for a variety of reasons. Integra A-Spec vs. GTI might be another story, but I’d still probably go with the Acura.
Best looking current Acura model ❤❤❤
This is so very true!
Those are some very good ideas Kevin!
Reminds me of an RSX w/ four doors than a Integra . It’s dope but for $55,000 I’d get a Supra GR or BMW m240i x-drive . For 10k more you can get an M2
$10k more is a lot. Lol
All the mentioned alternatives are two seaters. Some might have unusable rear seats.
Just saying.
Not to sure about your extra pricing for those other models.
You are so very welcome! You would need some good winter tires. I would say in the end AWD would win.
This gentleman is dripping sweats like my old leaking faucet, I don't think you can find a better car review channel.
Gotta work hard for you guys! Thanks for taking the time to say that!
Totally different question. Looking at these three.
Integra Type S
2018 Shelby Gt 350
2022 CT4 black wing.
Cost around 55000 Integra
GT 350 - around 60 -
CT4 black wing around 60
I know they are totally different. Just curious because I’m conflicted.
So what's the question ❓
@@porfiriato84 which one?
I’ve cross shopped these and a Audi S3 and still going back and forth
Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio better than all of those. 😉
I would agree they drive fantastically but i had one and it was by far the worst reliable new car I’ve ever owned and the dealership experience matched it unfortunately.
Joe what would you buy a CT4-V Blackwing or the Integra Type S?
Wow! Thank you for the review!!! I want this car now more than ever
I wish I could afford it. Sweet car, I think I'd take this over the Type R. They are both going to go up in value, though
This is so very true!
No ventilated seats is a deal breaker for me honestly. I've been so spoiled having them in Texas that having them is critical.
I must say this car looks absolutely phenomenal
You have very good taste!
Will there be a 2025 model ITR Type-S? If so, when do they usually come out and what do you think are potential improvements? Thank.
Sure is an aggressive look! 🎉🎉
I drive a 21 tlx a spec. Was considering switching to an integra but I don’t wanna lose the SH AWD
I’m glad you brought up all the de-contenting. We own two Acuras, including an Integra ASPEC 6 Speed Manual. For the price, this is too “Acura Light.” Makes the Golf R look like a value, or spend a little more and get an M2.
Previous generation M2 maybe. Current gen doesn’t hold a candle to the Golf R.
This is a very valid point!
Nice fender flares
One of the best parts!
Amazing review Joe.
Thanks for taking the time to say that!
No rear ac And armrest is crazy also how they forget the memory seats and no electric seats for the passenger did Acura rush this thing out or something it’s not worth the 52 maybe mid 40’s but it looks fun to drive
exactly. civic type r should be 37.5, and this should be about $42-$44k
@@Striker50_ This car should have been $40-42k but with the outgoing de-tuned 2.0T from the Honda Accord Sport. 275hp/275tq would have been great. Then they could have made a true halo car and called it the Integra Type R and included SH-AWD for $50k.
It is dun to drive for sure!
That is a pretty cool leaf blower.
Come and drive them in Denver this week. Even with snow tires you know which is the better car.
LOL I see what you did there!
Watching Raiti's Rides is like reading Chaucer.
Over 50k for this 4cylinder car !? Nah hell na! Acura is trippin for this ! Insane
Yea it’s M240xi money. 😂
What do you think the price should be?
A strong 43k , I think the interior is lacking a lot of the luxury feel being a luxury side of the brand , they could’ve given it a lot more if they wanted it to go for that over 50k price i think
@@RaitisRides good job though bro you zonked them to oblivion with things they need to update 💯
Acura made this car for the enthusiast who knows how to drive a stick not for ding-dongs.
Funny that their luxury division skimps on luxury items. LOL
Because performance was the focus not luxury.
Looks like they overlooked the performance as well...@@Marbind
@@Striker50_ is a turn taking beast. So no idea what are you talking about. 🤷🏻♂️
Kind of crazy for sure!
Can't wait to roll up on one of these in my Golf R.
On throttle!
😂
Let's do this!
clearly aimed at the guy who wants a tuner car with a factory warranty
however 30 aspect ratio tires in the bay area would mean a cracked rim in the first week due to the potholes.
i want a performance car with fat tires. i realize it is a tradeoff but there's no way this would work for me.
good catch on the dumb gloss black around the shifter. when are they going to drop that tacky plastic stuff.
You are spot on the money!
hey Raiti's Rides, since you own the FL5 would you have got ITS instead since you tested both cars?
Hi Joe! Considering you have driven the Supra, Nissan Z, Type R, Mustang GT, and this one, which do you like the best (manual transmission)? Is this your 2nd option after Porsche's 911? TY!
I would have to go Type R! That gearbox is just superb over the competition you listed.
You should get one Joe in an all black cause you already got a type R white. 👍🏼
Literally got a 28k miles f80 comp M3 for that price & it offers wayyyy more. I’ll get it used not for that price rn
It does but don’t cry when something as simple as the battery dies.
The replacement cost is absurd. In general, maintaining a BMW is crazy expensive. Can't imagine a M3. 😂
Sounds like a plan.
My boy was sweating crazy
honestly, one of my favorite looking Japanese cars. I love its design
Fun fact:
Racers are doing better laps with the suspension controller of the ITS in their CTRs.
The saying that the CTR has better suspension is a myth.
That is a very good point!
Joe! U are hilarious!!! Awesome car and brings me back to my Honda/Integra days from 80s and 90s. When u stated about the Rear End , I went belly up laughing 🤣🤣
love your content. we need to get you a fan
Thanks for having my back!
Should have fog lights at least to complete the look!
I don't think they are needed on this one.
