The feel is much more connected to the road. My S is more powerful in the upper rpm range only. I thought it would be a hard choice to pick between the two! I’m selling the S. Great accurate review!
Had a 2016 M4, just got spec’d out 2024 992.1 911T manual, carbon LWB, totally different experience. Porsche 911, definitely no substitute. Only 400 miles, and loving it already. Had over 30 cars in my lifetime, this is my dream car, and I don’t know what’s next. Maybe GT3 but prices through the roof. Always on the look out for an older air-cooled had a 1992 964 in 2010 for $20k, sold it after a few years $30k, biggest regret of my life.
I never liked Porsche either... But then I test drove a GT4. Now, I'm hooked. Wanna step up to a GT3 and eventually GT3 RS. The benefit of Porsche is they've refined the same exact car for almost a century. Helluvathing.
@@Viporghini It's more of a looks thing for me. I own a Corvette C7 Z06. Performance wise it may not be able to compete with a 911, but I just love the looks and performance it gives. If I had the money, I would definitely own a Porsche, but I had to buy the one I wanted. By the way, I have never had the pleasure of driving a Porsche, so I don't know what I'm missing. Haha!

I love, love, love the Carerra T. Especially in manual guise, which is the ONLY way to have it. It's one of my favorite 911's in the lineup. With a simple ECU tune, and you are at 992 GTS power levels and beyond.
Of all your videos I’ve watched Joe. I don’t think I’ve seen one where you were genuinely so excited about being “on throttle”. Thank you for showing us the tears and laughter from the joy of driving a T. I’ve had a Corvette C5 Z06, a C6, and a Porsche 991.1 S. I absolutely love the Corvettes but the 911 is just another level of fun and refinement you can’t go wrong with either. My 992 T (7sp and bucket seats) is coming this spring and I can’t wait. I prefer all analog, the tech is enough for me, extremely well built (I think better than new one--there are videos on this), new one is just not "sports car looking" enough inside for my tastes--piano black, more plastic, gear lever ... I could go on. I'm happy we're both happy! 😀

For me as a buyer I’m looking at the Corvette, the M4, 2025 CTV Blackwing, the 911T. All bring something different to the table. All have pros and cons. 10 years after purchase I think the 911T is still in your garage and loved, where the others will seem antiquated. My 2 cents. Thanks for bringing fun buddy. Cheers!
OMG this is IT! Unreal! The only thing is that even this trim needs a back seat (for me) without it looks unfinished. oh and manual. FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! That shifter is insanely comfortable.
It’s better than what I expected. The handling is sublime and the HP is more than enough for the street. The 7-speed manual is delicious as well, especially the short shifter
I don't know why, but the little designs marking the model of Carrera on the doors is unnecessarily cool, especially compared to the 991's tiny little logos on the doors that might as well never been there
Of course, and ive never driven either. A sports car built from the ground up is always going to be better than a souped up family car. The elephants in the room, the Boxster/Cayman does it even better, mid engine, sounds better (981 gen).
I love Porsche, but I have to say the look of the BMW 3 and 4 series is amazing too. I LOVE the large front grill. Would not want to go back to the smaller horizontal oriented grill
I see Raiti rocking the Adidas. I got those 3years ago for Christmas and still use them as my daily drivers. Even when going on-throttle with them. They are amazing shoes.

The 992 has five relevant trims: Carrera T - best drivers car on a budget Turbo S - the best speed beast for the Autobahn GT3 Touring - best drivers car on a bigger budget GT3 RS - best race car for the streets S/T - best car money no option
As a BMW guy who has a BMW channel, the answer is… yes the 911 is the way to go (unless you have children). BMW does not make a “drivers” coupe anymore. The new Z4 manual will be as close as they’ve gotten in many years, but the 911’s reputation precedes itself.
The M2 Competition (which I own) is easily the best BMW alternative to the 911 and hosts 2+2 for kids. Daily this car and love the ability to take the family on speed runs to dinner.

The 911 is amazing and even looks great in that white. Looks, performance and handling through and through, even if the M4 has more power/torque, no thanks on the BMW.

Nice that it has some switchgear and they spent some money for a custom binnacle rather than just slapping a cheap screen on the dash. I'd pic this all day over an M4.
Joe, it all comes down to taste. It kills me how people diss the M4 grill. I have a new 24 M4 competition convertible and I LOVE the Grill! To me, it reminds me of the intakes on an F-4 Phantom jet, not a pig snout. I love the looks so much that I bought an M4 instead of an M8, as I love a V8 over the inline 6. As for porsche, they all look alike to me, a jelly bean look. Never likes a rear engine design either. Again, it all comes down to taste.
Possibly will not be one for the 992.2 at least my Porsche SA of nearly 43 years believes. We’ll see… 48v allegedly coming for the S/GTS so highly possible the manual option for those will be DOA.
My '24 "t" arrives in under 7 weeks...! GT Silver/Blk w/ minimal options (full leather/bose/I'm a sunroof guy/manual of course/added the rear seats in (for all the chicks)). Can't wait !

The only flaw I have ever found with Porsche is the price and the weird Honda sounds some of their models/trims make. Rari, Lambo, and big ol American v8s get the sound down so good.
Very little weight savings when the CF roof is optioned given that the standard roof is aluminum like the rest of the car. The CF roof is for aesthetics which I can appreciate.

damn not easy to dicide, one is a relatively light 2 seater RR with a Boxer engine and the other one is a heavy 4 seater FR with a inline 6 engine, to close each other for me.
I bought my Dad's 1970 911T. It was a fun car, however, it pinned the smog meter in California, and it always left an embarassing puddle of oil wherever it went, because it had a rotating shaft in an oil bath. Somehow the engineers have managed to squeeze in two turbochargers, which makes the car much more complex and expensive. I sold my 911 for $8k when i was done, now the sales tax is way more than that. The 911 is too expensive now for what it is. Not much point in a car where you are at 65 MPH in first gear.... America doesn't allow us to use this car to even a fraction of its capabilities. A great looking shape, IIRC, the 911 is the second oldest car design still in production (after GM Suburban).

As an EV owner… The wife and I are legit shopping around for a Porsche. Carrera T, and 718 Cayman GT4 (in 6MT). Sold the twin turbo 370Z. Completely different cars, but, it’s for backroad driving, and having fun (not hooning).
For some reason the 911 in any current iteration doesn't trip my trigger. Everyone has their taste in cars, but these just don't do it for me. Most 911's don't, with the exception of the 1997 Turbo variants.

I owned two 928's in the 1990's and they were great, totally different cars, but very well executed machines from a company that builds drivers cars. Give your T an ECU tune, and you will certainly not miss the S.

It will probably be a smaller displacement engine with hybrid assist. Hopefully Porsche will still continue the T.
