    Denver can also be very segregated. Those areas he mentioned are more high expensive mainly white hipster neighborhoods. There is areas in Denver with everything in spanish give you a border town vibe. Or try south federal blvd on sundays. You will feel like your in east L.A Cal with all the lowriders and cruising street racing. Or NE Denver alot of African Americans. And that is just Denver. Denver has many suburbs that can also be very diverse. Just like many cities in this country 🇺🇸 😃!!

    I lived in Cap Hill for most of the past 35 years.
    I've left briefly, to take jobs elsewhere, but usually wind up back there.
    I'm in northeast Denver, now, because that's where I could afford to buy a house.
    Once I fix it up and sell it, though, I hope to move back in that general direction.
    HIghlands is much nicer, now, than it was 20-25 years ago.
    Back then, it was one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Denver -- not that Denver ever really *had* bad neighborhoods by the standards of most major cities, but that one had some problems.
    Gentrification started happening, up there, just before the economy crashed in 2008, though.
    That slowed things down, a bit, but in the past five to eight years, it has ramped back up, again.
    He's dead right about the restaurants and small shops, up there.
    Sloan's Lake is the first neighborhood we lived in, when we moved to Colorado.
    The difference between what it looked like, then, and how it is now, is just amazing.
    The Free Days are nice, but be aware that the venues get mobbed.
    The Free Days at the zoo are particularly crowded with kids.
    The Free Days at the Denver Art Museum aren't as bad, but the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is located close to the zoo, in City Park, and it can get pretty crowded, too.

    • @SomewhereInColorado

    • @SomewhereInColorado
      @SomewhereInColorado  3 года назад +4

      We have a decent base of Tech jobs in Denver and you can probably find your way into one of them. Depends on what you are looking to do for work. I moved out without a place or a job in 2008 (housing market crash) and got by waiting tables, working at a gym, and picking up side jobs at a temp staffing firm. There are definitely opportunities for those that hustle.
