Can't believe they're calling Katniss a mary-sue. She's a girl who went through hell, and it wasn't pretty. There were so many viscerally grusome scenes involving her that a mary-sue could never. If she was a mary-sue, her pain would've been glamorized
Books inspire books. Maybe Powerless or Red Rising or Dark Age were inspired somewhat by the Hunger Games, and in turn Hunger Games was inspired by Lord of the Flies, which was in turn inspired by WWII!! There's no problem with being inspired. That's how art is made.
