He's talking about this bill as if any of the Congress people voting on it actually knew what was in it. They might know what is in the past if the bill that they wrote, but they were going to be voting on something that they didn't even know what it was.
I don't know much about this bill I've been dodging politic topics in recent years, but on one hand I like most that will read this want them back in a new RFK. This should have happened years ago as compared to Federally owned RFK being left to fall apart and crumble. FedEx is now 27 years old and they moved out of RFK after 35 and noone assumed all that time ago RFK would be left to rot. Give it to the city to do something with it. However on the other hand I've always found it disgusting how Congress jams many things into any bill. If someone is say a Senator for Virginia and the vote is for a Spending Bill we voted for you to vote yes or no on that bill and not to refuse to unless something is given to your constituents. That is not why we vote people into office and that's why largely Congress has been useless and get nothing done ever.
The nosie ordinances filed way back ended any event being held on grounds forcing DC united to break ground on their own stadium. Funds were allocated a ways back to turn the area into a park. It was never gonna happen!
Nah, that bill was gross, this government was a failure is all facets, but they wanted to give themselves a raise before daddy trump got into power. The stadium deal should 100% be seperate. But that bill was disgusting. Elon was right to call it out.
@@Lordface11751 He was actually using the word Daddy to show that they were acting like kids and trying to sneak the raise in before next year but reading and comprehending why a word was used are two different things.
@douglaslee8512 thanks for the assist. Some people just don't get it, but unfortunately for them, I don't give enough of a damn to respond. Good looking out!
The team should pick a more friendly tax location, i.e., why it isn't in DC in the first place. Tax per square foot will kill all vendors if dc is chosen!!
The Blackfeet tribe in Montana are the Senator's constituents. The logo is based on a member of that tribe and there are some royalties, I believe, associated with the logo. I'm glad the Senator emphasized the importance of the logo. Also, team fans are not confined to the DMV. Their opinions count, too.
Wait, does anyone actually have a problem with a billionaire owner not getting billions of tax dollars to help build a stadium? I want the team back in DC more than anything, but Musk is correct. Scott’s political bias has skewed common sense.
@ryanbrake5758 this bill didn’t, but that’s the basis of his opposition. “This should not be funded by your tax dollars”. Would you like any more facts?
Scott is a world renowned reporter, so you can stop with his "political bias." And to @ryanbrake5758's point, this provision merely transferred the land back to DC. That's then DC's call on what to do with it and whether or not to give funding. There wouldn't be a single federal tax dollar ever going to this, so no...Musk was not correct.
@@craighoffman what is going on here? When did I say federal? I’m merely saying Elon is correct, a billionaire shouldn’t receive billions of tax dollars to help fund a stadium build. Moving the team back to dc is most important. It’ll be a phenomenal fan experience, and great for the area, which are what we should really care about. The name is a problem, but the old logo isn’t, so maybe that has a shot at making a comeback. But that’s a conversation for another day.
@@x27off yea super important for the stadium to be in the middle of the carjacking capital…: double win that the shitty ass federal government has to be involved. It didn't get out of committee until November 19th because Daines single handedly held it up. So no, Democrats could not have picked it up months ago. Nor could Republicans. It was stuck in committee because of Daines and the way the process works.
I think you guys are sweating over this thing without cause. The bill to lease the RFK land to DC isn’t dead, it was just inappropriately stuck in the middle of an overly pork-stuffed spending bill. I think Musk might have misinterpreted the RFK deal, but he wasn’t specifically opposed to that portion of the bill. If they take a step back and vote on it separately, it should pass without a problem. All it will take for that to happen is a little influence and a few telephone calls to the right people in Congress and the NFL can pull that off easily.
Multiple unrelated issues lumped into the same Bill is one of the huge problems with our system.
Absolutely

As a lifelong redskins fan and tax payer, these leagues need to build their own stadiums.
