Shocked they didn’t immediately take Lori’s offer. They were willing to give another 12% of their company instead of a $1 royalty that goes away with their $50+ profit margin.
Agreed - but to give benefit of the doubt, could it be the case that she’s expressing the process used to make them releases toxic chemicals, where theirs does not? (Of course this is still misleading the way it was presented)
@@shoansnoday1768 No they didn't. They still have to pay this 100k back. Just because royalty went down to 75c does not mean they saved $25k. They just pay it back slower. Sometimes I wonder how this comment section is so clueless about simple things.
They could have accepted the inicial offer (100k for 15% + 1$ royalty), and as soon as the money had been recouped, Lori would have to bring equity down to 10% or less... it would have been a smarter move.
The guest shark is right, almost no one is gonna ditch their current yoga mat to buy this. The exercises they did can also be used without the mat, so I don't really see a point besides the convenience of folding nicely.

I honestly don't know why she said that... I checked her LinkedIn and it doesn't show she's worked in those places, but it does show that she's worked at tech start-ups as a business development rep and account executive. Weird.
I worked with her. She worked for a tech dental startup as an account executive, pitching clients all day. The company creates and sells dental software from managing patients in office, to payments and billing, and handling booking of appointments online. So no, not a front desk clerk. Very smart and quick on her feet. Proven in sales
Love seeing the unimpressed expressions on the Sharks' faces during the presentation. lol Plus, $86 is MASSIVELY OVERPRICED for a piece of basically, foldable foam!!
I agree, but Manduka which is what I have is 130-160 (which is ridiculous) but when I saw this it didn’t look lasting, since the material was pinched together, and that normally rips. I prefer a regular yoga mat.

Could someone explain the logic of giving away more of the company than the initial royalty offer? Also, whether it is $1 or .75 cents royalty until $100k is paid off, surely over time it works out the same? I don't understand the logic.
@@kingkyrie5140 👏🏻 thank you! Exactly. Just look at the guys with the trophy business and why he went out. Or the cup cake business. Going out while eating the cupcake. What? They weren’t willing to do that, they didn’t take the counter lol
Good point
If you have to give the money back then it's not really an investment, it's a loan.
@@singami465 Not really cuz Lori was also getting 15% equity which would still keep her incentivized after she gets her 100k back.
They are still in business

Came here to say this. It's a wonder we've all survived with modern day plumbing materials!
why did they ask for a moment to see if "the panel" had anything else to say after Lori gave her initial offer? everyone else was already out LMAO.
Noticed that too 😂
They were nervous n forgot lol
It could be an editing mistake as well.

Kevin: Alright, what are you doing Lori?
Lori: What are you doing Kevin?
These two have the best comedic moments.
Making more than 40$ a unit and scared to pay 1$ was stupid. Lori's offer was in their interest... They were smart looking but stupid in real.
Really dumb move by them
The negotiatied an extra 25k to put towards the business. Lori knew that and probably already had that number in her head.
They got the royalty down to .75 cents. Smart if you ask me.
paying $1 a unit stacks up so prob not stupid 💀
