- Blo Air-GT Car Dryer - Unboxing and First Use
As detailers, we all look for the perfect tools, techniques, products and methods. When it comes to drying, the prefered method for many years has been drying towels.
However, I've now decided to "up my game" and finally splash the cash on a car dryer.
In this video, we take a look at the features, and my inital thoughts!

Recently bought a new car. Found this channel. Really good content and has helped me enormously. Thank you for the time you spend on vids. Grateful
Glad you find it helpful 👍
i`ve got the Airforce Master Blaster 8hp dryer, had it about 6yrs, excellent piece of kit, i mainly use it for blowing out all the nooks and crannies, alloys, wing mirrors etc and its excellent, i have to wear ear plugs though as it can get quite loud when doing that and i only use the cone attatchment. I also use it to blow out the interior of the car as the last step when i`ve done the whole car, just incase i missed anything with the vac. Wouldn`t be without one. Nice vid again Mat, Thanks
Nice 👍
Just got one for Christmas it’s amazing
Nice one 👍
Great video. I have the GT and it’s Awesome. It’s cool to have before a compound, polish and wax.
Definitely 👍
been considering one of these and now i feel obliged to get one...
Useful video Mat. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
I have both the MetroVac Sidekick and the twin motor BigBoi with extra long hose. Both are great dryers but to be honest, in terms of drying capability there isn’t much between them.
Interesting thoughts, I’ve got the smaller one which I’ve recently done a video on.
Great for wheels which was my sole purpose
👍
I'll be interested to see how you get along with this over the longer term Mat. I'm struggling to convince myself that I need one !
I'll convince you all that you need one 🤣
@@TheDetailingSpace Seems underpowered, did you consider adding a turbo charger onto the exhaust?
I’m about to buy one of these. Looked at the handheld one but feel the nice long 8m hose will be ideal.
Enjoying the channel, nice to see a local man doing some detailing videos on here.
Thanks.... Where are you?
@@TheDetailingSpace I’m literally down the road from you. I recognised the surroundings in your videos.
👍
Same estate? Freaky 🤣
@@TheDetailingSpace a guy a work with lives on same estate. I’m next village down.
Hi Mat, great video about the Blo Air-GT car dryer,it does the job perfectly, compared to the big boi is the sound louder than the other?vice versa.but it is very useful.
Thanks 👍
After using Turtle Wax Hybrid Dry & Shine i decided to try the car with a Metrovac Side Kick. The sun was in and out of the clouds and it was a warmish day. I noticed that there was all water marks where the water was blown over the paint.
Try using some filtered, 0ppm water.
Also, I think on a hot day you're best towel drying large panels and use a blower for grilles, wheels etc
After having a think and watching your video , I’ve decided to get one of these, from Clean and shine , only problem is they are out of stock 😩 still I’m patient
Worth the wait, and they always seem to be replenishing stock 👍
This is something I wish I could convince myself I needed. I’ve always successfully dried the car with a towel, this would make wheels easier and get rid of drips in the gaps but is it worth paying £150+ just for that extra bit of convenience. For me it’s either I buy this or I buy a new DA.
I know what you mean
Great video mate, is the Nissan coated?
I've got to stop watching your videos. I was thinking of a leaf blower lol. I personally think it's a brilliant thing to use in the autumn and winer cold days. I don't think I convince the wife that it cost me £30. lol
🤣
Could you dry seats with it?
I have the smaller version, the Blo RS....... try using it with Autosmart Aqua Seal Pro its an unbelievable combination for the autumn/winter months to add protection and dry the car!....Nice informative review Mat :)
Nice, and thank you 👍
Great video and has really help me make my decision and will be buying this unit through Clean and Shiny. Thanks
Glad it came in helpful 👍
Detailing World shame they have sold out though 🤦🏽♂️
Damn. They only had a delivery a few weeks ago too
Great review, and looks the best of the current crop of dryers but seems to be out of stock everywhere. The BigBoi Mini+ looks to be a fairly similar alternative but its a real shame it doesn't come with a longer hose and I'm not paying an extra £60 for one! There's an opportunity here for someone to offer a bundle that swaps out the std hose for the longer one.
👍
I like (literally) the look of the Big Boi but why pay another 60 quid for the 9m hose when you get the 8m hose as standard on this?
Back in stock at cleanyourcar.co.uk , might even be a discount code floating about if you're lucky 👍.
@@Rob.Coleman do you have any codes?
As a detailer myself it's always the time thing that gets me.
I know I can dry a car within 5 min with a towel.
One thing I find with a towel if you wet it down and wring out it out it makes drying the car so much easier, I find if you use a dry towel it doesn't seem to suck the water up as good.
Is this the most powerful blower you have used or is there more powerful ones out there?
The money is definitely up there for these blowers.
It's up there with the BigBoi... Maybe on par, I can't remember. But more power than you'd need to be honest. I rarely go above 50% power
I've got a 45 quid pet dryer from Amazon which I'm more than happy with. The only problem is I don't half feel a muppet when people walk past and I'm using it. 😞 They're invaluable for bits that you mentioned like wheels, grilles and door mirrors. I couldn't be without one now. 👍
I've kinda gotten used to people walking by, although as you can tell in the videos, I'm in a cul de sac. I think the neighbours are all used to me messing about with different things now 😂
I’m the same my neighbours all think I’m mental spending most of my spare time washing my old bangers 😂
😂
Did you get a package last week?
Detailing World oh yeah I did thanks... already got the hydro tyre on and it seems decent, will try some more tomorrow, are you on Instagram as someone else runs detailing world account?
Yeah, Bill runs the DW one, my personal one is randomlyset
Just wondering have you by any chance tried the hand held Air S and had a chance to compare to this?? just trying to figure which to get,if this one warrants the extra price..don't run a detailing business or anything..just a weekend warrior :P
I haven't. How about the smaller one to this, the RS?
Had my Blo air gt since March, fantastic bit of kit, must admit though, I prefer the jet nozzle to the blade and I recommend to wear ear protection specially when you hit panel gaps.
Haha, yeah, I usually have earphones in.
I don't know whether to buy this thing or not. I can't make my mind up. As a dog lover, Geoff / Jeff (?) has almost swung it for me but I'm still unsure. How have you been getting on with it?
Loving it tbh.
I bit the bullet and ordered one off the back of this video and your discount. Sadly the blade nozzle doesn't secure properly (manufacturing defect it would seem - pointy one is fine) and a couple of emails to the company haven't resulted in much of a response yet. It definitely affects the power of it as even at full tilt it isn't blowing the water off anywhere near as well as it does on your video. Just hoping they get round to sorting it out or it's just going to be going back :(
Nice to hear you bought one. Shame about the nozzle. Hope you get it sorted soon 👍
Hello, have you used the blo much more since putting this video up? Just interested if you had any further thoughts on it , I’m in the market for a dryer and can’t decide this or the bid boi,
Is your discount code still running? I know there out of stock at the moment just want to know if it worth hanging on until in stock, sorry for the long comment 😁👍
Yeah, use it once or twice a month. Love it
Discount code should still be running.
Hello,
Did you try the RS Model?
Would you think the RS would be enough?
What do you think has the better quality between BigBoi or BLO?
Yes the RS should be fine for most home users IMO.
@@TheDetailingSpace Thank you.
Stay healthy.
Best wishes out of Germany
No problem 👍
Arhhhh Jeff 😍🤗
👍
Are you still using this blower and preder this over the Big Boi? What are your thoughts on this blower now that you’ve used it more?
Yes, still using it and love it!
@@TheDetailingSpace thank you! I am confused between this and the big boi. Which is better?
They both have their pros and cons.... This works out to be cheaper and the longer hose is a benefit
So would you say it’s an expensive nook and cranny dryer? I’ve seen videos across RUclips of different makes saying they are great at first but then take way to much time and stick to quality towels.
Will find out more in the winter... Usually all I do is snow foam and rinse and then leave it to avoid scratches from road salt and grit etc... This would allow me to do a touchless dry in the winter months.
I agree, however, buying stuff and gadgets and car cleaning stuff.. ;)
👍
Nice video mate, miss the hat tho 🤣🤣 . Hope your well and staying safe 🌈🌈🌈
Thanks! You too!
can you actually dry a whole car with this ?
Yes you can 👍
@@TheDetailingSpace @Detailing World so do you just use this instead of using towels to dry? A completely touchless dry?
I've just bought the big boi mini +. It rivals yours for sure, used Paul dodens discount code to get 10% off. I'd like to see how it compares to yours
Nice. Didn't look at the mini+ specs, but in some areas I think this tops it.... For me, the standard 8m hose was a huge positive
@@TheDetailingSpace yeah I agree with the hose but I used it this week and only had to move it once. It doesn't have wheels but I prefer it without as I find wheels get in the way sometimes
Yes, I had the wheels locked on this. Probably OK in a unit on a smooth floor, but not a tarmac driveway
let me tell you guys.. if you are researching and worried about buying the wrong dryer.. this is the one!! BLO AIR-GT -- just make sure your car has ceramic coating or some other hydrophobic coating.
That applies to all driers (I've used a few). They work best when a car has hydrophobic protection....
And let's be honest, if you're buying a dryer, you are no doubt "into" detailing and therefore has a wax/sealant/ceramic on the car
What kind of dog is that?
Bedlington Terrier
That’s an expensive leaf blower lol
Yet still cheaper than some of its competitors
Has anyone told you your intro drums kinda sounds like the pornhub theme?
