Looks like someone raided a TK Maxx and stuck it into a hotel
ha ha agree
Agreed, finished off with a quick B&M visit. I don't like that "It's a London thing" script on the wall, like people have "Eat" in their kitchens & "Sleep" in their bedrooms but never "Poo" in the bathrooms. It's well manky, l wouldn't be able to sleep just because of that script.
@@WalkWithMeTim why don’t you stay at rugby central Travelodge
@@sexynisi1 the one next to tesco express?
Congratulations on the most British comment ever😂😂
Imagine working here... Calls and emails every day from 'influencers' wanting a free room in return for a post on their Instagram 😂
Yes .. and I had to pay for mine
@@WalkWithMeTim quality content as always 🙌
I think the “instagrammable spots” in this hotel are actually really dated and unimaginative. Does it really make for that interesting of a photo to see someone stood in front of a generic, meaningless neon sign…? It’s trying so hard to be trendy that it’s everything but.
@@V-13579 and i mean there's not even a gated entrance to a Chelsea townhouse that you don't own to pose in front of either for the OOTD instagram post.
That would be a nightmare...'influencers' another word for entitled.
I would definitely expect breakfast to be included at that room rate! Decor is too over the top for my taste. That eighth floor corridor looked downright creepy too! The PIR lighting is a bit impractical when people are juggling luggage and mastering using door key cards - suddenly being plunged into darkness isn't helpful!😊
Hotel room prices throughout the UK are at silly levels now, they took advantage once CV restrictions were lifted and ramped up prices to claw back profits and the prices just seem to have stayed the same, its often cheaper to go abroad for a week than stay at a half decent UK hotel for 5 nights.......
@@DMAEmmeryJohn rather be with those "people" than with stuck up pretentious, arrogant well off folk.
@@DMAEmmeryJohn Exactly the same people you go on holiday to escape from.
A Walk With Me Tim video on a Sunday. What a treat! 🙏🏻
lol
Tim has talent and something to say, a proper content creator. I really don't like the idea of Instaram hotels. The whole influencer scene usually makes me want to vomit.
Do you not think Tim would be considered and influencer himself though?!
@@harrietpalmann8450 No I think he's a creator of interesting content, rather than just going around promoting brands for cash and doing very little themselves in terms of creativity.
To be honest, Tim is, in my humble opinion, a travel journalist. He's filling a void that used to be filled partly by BBC "Holiday" and the "Watchdog" programme (before it was condensed into a 10 minute blurp on the Oneshow.)
@@harrietpalmann8450 On reflection, the difference is he is creating content about travel. Influencers are often creating other content and seeking brands to promote for financial gain, rather than for content.
@@james-5560 Fair enough. I don't know anything about the revenue he generates from it and how many free stays he gets offered. But on the whole I'd presume anyone reviewing something (products or otherwise) with a decent enough following on YT could be considered an "influencer" of sorts. I bet people have visited some of the hotels off the back of his reviews!
£4.44 to put a teabag in hot water? £25 for breakfast? Those are shocking prices even for London. I usually stay in the hotel indigo in Kensington can usually get a double room with breakfast for about £100-£150 and it's a great hotel in a fantastic location
Thanks for the tips!
Gotta say, your hotel reviews are very thorough. Impressive.
£254 a night!!!...£25 for breakfast!!...£4.44 for a cup of tea...not so much Alice in Wonderland...more the owners were on acid in cuckoo land when they built the place and set the price menu
so true! 🤣🤣🤣
I think I would feel like I was on a bad trip if I stayed in that hotel. I'm sure there are better hotels than that in the same price range and you would probably get breakfast included.
Mate:, my experience is that it’s rare to find breakfast included in 4 star hotels unless it’s a special offer and in most cases it’s hidden in the price anyway.
Definitely agree with you about it being Instagram friendly, but a bit tacky for my liking unfortunately! Great video as always though 😊
Thanks for watching!
Boy, I wouldnt be keen on walking down that hall by myself lol! I don`t think I`d want to stay there, the novelty would wear off pretty quickly I think! Another great vlog Tim!
Sorry not for me, I’d describe it as tacky not classy!🤷🏻♀️
WOW! That bed looks amazing, pretty sure it's a king size based on the nearly square dimensions...and that tea pot kettle, so cute, I want one! Overall I found the aesthetics very weird yet it all seems to work (like you said, so many unique details)...all the things they do with lighting is very cool; I like that they have motion sensors to save electricity (despite the difficulty seeing in the dimness). Even the retro telephone is nicer than the ones you had in your "7 star" Dubai suite (those phones stuck out like sore thumbs HAHA)! Thanks for the video!
They’re living on another planet. I’ve worked in a Forbes 5* hotel in a superb area and the breakfast wasn’t that much. And yes. That was in an expensive area of London, something that the hotel you stayed in does not share.
Insane.
yesss!! was hoping for a new 'walk'! Thanks! Keep 'em coming!
Biggest fan from the Netherlands
Awesome! Thank you!
I actually feel a bit too old for this sort of hotel 😊. That dartboard reminded me of that bit in the film "Videodrome" - really showing my age now😄! Some of the things were nice but altogether it was a bit much...and so was the price! Still an enjoyable watch - Cheers Tim!
Loving the videos !!! Thank you 😊
Glad you like them!
Thanks Tim great video as always look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
It sort of looks like a King-size bed, Tim. That man on the wall kind of looks like he's about to clean the Queen's nose for her, or buff it up a little.
The hallway is creepy.
I am staying at the Hub by Premier Inn Westminster Abbey. The Abbey is half a block away from me! The other way down the street on Tothill Street, on the corner, is the Blue Boar pub. Very good food and the host and the wait-people are so nice.
I did feel like someone could hide behind the curtains
@@WalkWithMeTim Your reply to my comment is funny, Tim! Did you check in the closets, too?
Gwen (moonwalk), normally I'm watching your videos from my home 60 miles south of Seattle.
I was glad you like the Premier Inns ... I do, too! Perfect for me for eight nights!
Take care .....
I’m not surprised by the price, the place looks brilliant, the interiors are so luxe and well curated… but I do detest stingy coffee and tea making facilities
Lol that's Poundland trash decor
Great video Tim thank you for posting, this hotel looks like something in the future, love your room 😊
Great video Tim. The room looked amazing and the hotel did as well. The noise of the ventilation was a shame tho I cant sleep with any noise either. The whole through the bathroom door is weird as well. But yeah great room but again for me not worth that price for 1 person and 1 night.
Thanks for sharing bro 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
@@WalkWithMeTim Thank you. I love all your videos. I found you on RUclips when I went to visit great yarmouth I was looking at things to do in great yarmouth and since then I got addicted to ur videos bro. Lol
OMG yes! The peep hole in the door is plain creepy..why?! One for the peeping Tom's I reckon...
@@katewolfspirit6722 lol yeah 🤣
I bet the interior design company couldn't believe their luck when they secured this contract
You should visit the Golden Fleece in york said to be the most haunted pub in york. I stayed in the summer a real quirky and spooky place 😊
You should go to mercure Liverpool by the liver building!
Living not to far from Islington (closer to Shoreditch), I can tell you that prices like that are the norm for the area. What used to be a predominately working class population has now become rather gentrified (don't you know 🤣) and everything aimed at well to do middle class locals and tourists. The poor old natives like me, are gradually being pushed out and priced out. BTW, the Henry VIII theming in the bathroom is due to the Toilet being called a Throne in some quarters. Great vlog as usual.
Love your videos Tim. If you're ever up north, would love to see you stay in Lumley Castle in Durham or The Rookery Nook in Haworth is beautiful x
Deal!
Oh my gosh I think that would give me a headache. As for the corridor scary.
Had a work function there last year. Loved the unique quirkiness of the place.
its a bit overkill but i think if you were going to london to a theatre or event and wanted something different for a night then i guess it would work opposed to the usual run of the mill hotels.
Lovely and luxury hotel. Thanks Tim. Happy Sunday 🎉
Maybe try Stanley House Hotel in Clitheroe. It would be a nice one for you and Gaby x
What a whimsical hotel!
Don't know what's more dazzling, the colours in this hotel or the price. Great Vlog yet again Tim.
Many thanks!
I was amazed, very arty. Very expensive and Breakfast should be included. Next Hotel to stay would be good to see what you think is The Mermaid Inn, Rye, East Sussex. Never stayed their, Very Good food and a very popular. Famous and full of history.
Hey, Tim, why do you never see any other guests in these places? You do such a wonderful job. You clearly work very hard.
Would love to see you review a Brewdog hotel Tim!
The Fitzroy is a wonderful experience, if you can afford it. So much history there. Same architect as the Titanic.
Excellent work Tim , you’re saving me a fortune , tick that one off the list
Glad to help
Yeah..we have this kind of pretentious s**t here in Glasgow.
When I travel, I don't spend my time in the hotel.
I just want a clean room!
But Thanks Tim. Always fascinating x
Your question at the end. Come to Glasgow!!
We can easily accommodate your best/worst 😂😂
Seriously....we have everything!
It's all a bit much, the OTT decor - it's stressing me out just watching! Would love a video with some tips on staying in a hotel with a baby - your boy must be an expert traveller all the places he's visited with you 😊
All that's missing is a Genuine Street Urchin shouting out 'London! You're in London! Come and get yer London!' every hour, on the hour.
To be fair actually there is so much tat out there (at the same price) I'd actually rather stay here than quite a few competitor places. But only if I had to at £200+!
Would be cheaper going to the shop for sugar than over £4 for a tea... I'd expect a lot paying that for breakfast!!! Unpopular opinion but I kinda like the vibe in the corridor where the rooms were, and Henry VIiI in the loo is funny. Great video. 🎉
@@davidsworld5837 Totally agree, they are so stingy on some things, and yeah got the Royal Throne reference.
"Well you can get at least four people in it"...We have all accepted Tim's jokes about the size of the showers, but now he's using the same for the beds ... Far too many jokes there... We love you.
I love that Tim's first thought of the corridors was Alice in Wonderland and mine was The Shining 😂
How much!! Never… great video Tim..Hathersage in Derbyshire has some nice places and is worth a visit 👍
I will check it out
Would I stay there the answer is no it’s tacky and very distasteful but then what do u expect when it’s made for insta photos I’d rather a nice hotel that’s understated thanks for sharing tim😊
Fair enough
its a nice hotel for a one off. i really reckon you should try the Genting hotel at Resorts world in Birmingham right next to the NEC and Airport
I quite liked the hotel decor, quite quirky but at £255 a night I would defo want breakfast with a pot of tea thrown in. Great video as always Tim.
Totally agree
The tower hotel in central London is about $180US/£150 in October, and £200 early June, and their breakfast is £20. £255 for a hotel not in central London is a bit high. I just find a tesco each morning and get coffee and a pastry. This hotel is defiantly a one-time only experience.
This place is nuts! Just the sort of mad place I like, not too keen on the spooky corridor 😮and what about Henry in the bog 😂😂 OMG that ventilation noise☹️ yes, too pricey 😳
Goodness Tim what a crazy price both for room and breakfast I know it is London but gosh still very high Thanks Tim.
I know!!
Too expensive for me plus I think the décor would give me a migraine.
Great video Tim 😁
Wow,we would love to stay here, what a hotel,a lot to take in,love it!!
Amazing show. I think this hotel TMI is a understatement. At least the elevator is ckill.😊
Haha the last comment about costa cracked me up🤣 brilliant
It's a London thing alright, with those price's clearly aimed at tourists!
Love this hotel but wouldn't spend that amount of money for one night but the decor gets a thumbs up from me thanks Tim for going to this place
Wow a good hotel for taking pictures but the price very high and for the money paid definitely breakfast should have been included x
04:11 "You've got the rest of the hotel which looks pretty good yet the lift is pretty basic!" Yeah, you tell 'em Tim, this is not good enough! 😂 Actually, the whole place looks hideous! And that hotel corridor is more creepy than in American Horror Story:Hotel and at least that had the courtesy to be Art Deco 😎
Lol but why go to the trouble for that hotel yes have basic lifts lol
Certainly a very unique hotel. I assume the price is for the room and not per person. If so, for two persons in that style/standard of hotel in that part of London the price would be considered acceptable.
Hi Tim, I would love to see you visit the Brewdog Hotel. Thanks.
Looks like King size bed. Definitely different in a good way!
I think you should stay at the Midland Hotel in Morecambe
Smart hotel but it's not worth it so I'll stick to a Premier inn , my favourite Premier inn is Tring Premier in in Hertfordshire as you get nice views in the crows nest next door when your having your breakfast if you can get a window seat.
The teapot kettle is on ebay 56 pound i bought the same 1 about 5 years ago the only trouble with them is when you pour your tea theres a risk of it scalding your hand as it can pour over the side of the cup i got rid of mine for that reason but there unusual and unique and i still got mine as decoration now lol love that instagram hotel id have a ball in there i love taking photos your room was amazing 2 il have to check the hotel out at some point it was great 👍😊🏡🏡🏡🏡
Hotels are now taking the P out of people now with there silly prices, that hotel not for me personally , willy wonka and the chocolate factory comes to mind, great video though Tim👍🏻👍🏻😎
Totally agree
Hi Tim, I'm not sure if i like it I'm more of the windmill type of person, I loved the bulldog lamps but wow that's expensive and like you i wouldn't pay nearly £25 for breakfast and £5 for a cup of tea that's crazy, a great review 🍻
You and me both!
Looks so fun. I will consider next time I am in London. Fun
Go to blue stone park in Wales
The lifts are one of the bests - they are KONE EcoDisc lifts
You can stay in my guest room for 254 and I'll throw in a tea bag and cube of sugar . . . there's a lot of junky furniture to take selfies next with, too!
Hello Tim please could you visit the Brewdog hotel? My nan went last week and she said it was unreal!!!
Cheers
Coming soon
The only reason why they can get away with that price is that silly influencers and Instagramers will pay that to stay there! It's a massive tourist spot too😂 I live in london and even if it was £10 a night I wouldn't stay there
Henry the 8th on the bathroom wall had me laughing
Not somewhere I'd like to stay, but I do love those flip-flop slippers
Could you stay at that Windmill in Thorpeness? It was on George Clarke's amazing spaces
House in the clouds
These places are never meant to last long. Like clubs. They get in and are the next big thing where everyone has to be, make their packet, and then move on before it gets old and no one wants to go there anymore. Sometimes they even just rent a lot of the decor and amenities!
Yes 5 years will it be here?
Another great & fantastic video I Stay In A Instagram Hotel - OMG💛💛💚💚A bit to pricey!.
It’s like marmite, you’re either going to love or hate it. I can’t decided but the price tells me no lol.
Omg, the vibe feels like I'm in a very random and weird dream 🤣 But the place is unique. You can't always find hotels having such unique interior.
Try a visit to the Old Railway Station Petworth Hotel, I think you will love it.
Hey, I love all of your videos especially in the beautiful Great Yarmouth! I believe the spray painting of the queen was being done by the masked graffiti artist “bansky” ❤
Oh thank you!
Wow Tim,that's some hotel and at a wow price, it looked amazing, loved the rocket big Ben,they know how to charge for breakfast, far too pricey for me , but loved to see inside, bedroom was lovely too, mice and clean, hope you got to sleep OK. As you didn't say. Thanks for sharing, see you soon, looking forward to Gaby later, x😊
Thanks Hazel
Holiday Inn Express on Oxford rd Manchester and z hotels in Liverpool are great hotels if you’re on a budget. Great locations too
Anyone else think that picture of the queen is a bit too suggestive?? 🤣🤣
Currently binging your channel 😂
Yay! Thank you!
Last week l paid £257 for a room at the King's Arms, Fitzrovia. It was beautiful, by that standard l'd say your room was worth £100.
Wow
@@WalkWithMeTim Worth a look. l've stayed in some right London fleapits, it was expensive for me but in London l thought it was a bargain, 5 boutique rooms, excellent staff.
I dont mind sharing with you Tim! 😉 lol ❤
“Classy”? It’s hideous!😂
Hey just out of interest, have you stayed at the Maids Head in Norwich? its meant to be the oldest hotel in the UK? they do a deal with bed and breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea for 2 nights and I wondered if you would treat Mrs Tim lol, - not offering to pay - just so thats clear hahaha-I enjoy your take on these places tho.
Yes it is thanks donna
I thoroughly recommend staying in the Shangri-la Hotel at The Shard!
Lol how much ..
THAT is a love chair in the bedroom...that's why only one 😂
Lol
Nice one Tim. You should do the Brewdog Hotel next
Coming soon 😉
Do you think you could maybe do a piece on the Great Yarmouth Ice House Tim? Maybe a bit of history and of course all the thatch restoration etc and it's future as a space for GY residents 👍
What an amazing hotel. I suppose you are paying for the experience of staying there, although I definitely wouldn't pay £4.44 for a cuppa!! Great video Tim 👍
Totally agree!
Yes, that's expensive for a tea! Mind you, I give Costa a wide berth as well because their tea tastes like dish water, same as Pret a Manger. Nasty!
Please stay in the new Brewdog hotel Tim!
? What's that
@@WalkWithMeTim Brewdog is a craft beer pub chain and they are now opening hotels. They have them in Manchester, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh and have in room beer taps and things like that. Would be interesting to see how they compare to Wetherspoons hotels!
Hey Tim love your videos you asked for ideas where to go next, you should definitely try the Fingal hotel in Edinburgh. It’s a converted boat moored in a dock, a bit expensive but really worth the money and the food is wonderful
I'll check it out!
Brewdog hotel next please!
