      Currently have QSC K 12.2’s .We are three and sometimes four piece live band -acoustic guitars, bass , electric lead sometimes mic the Princeton into PA,no drums. Looking for a little smaller set of speakers. Leery of recent QSC problems the last couple years with premature protection mode shutting down in the K.2 series I’ve decided either RCF ART 910 or a Yamaha DXR 10 MK ii. Thoughts?

      The crossover on the yamaha is at 2300, vs. 1800 for the RCF. You should have better vocals on the RCF due to that lower crossover@@at4dan201

    @16:55 -- I've had EV EKX-12P tops for the last couple of years. I replaced them with 932's for this exact reason. I've got a couple of recurring outdoor events where the EKX tops have struggled to reach the back of the crowd. A/B testing the 12P with the 932 was shocking...the 932 is crystal clear long past the point where the EKX-12P tops get crispy in the mids/highs and start limiting. EKX aren't bad, but the 932's are next level.

    Just switched over from EV to RCF. Compared the EKX 15p to RCF 915 and the RCF won. EKX mid to low end range starts to fade or gets muddy after being ran too hard, rcf sounded perfect the whole way through. I even preferred the 912 over qsc12.

    • @TheDJsGuru
      @TheDJsGuru  11 месяцев назад +2

      We truly did like them all, but we would always prefer a 12" top over a 15" and that's just us. Sound is not objective, plus it's all about using the right tool for the job. The 945 uses brute force, it's deafening for sure but it also has an impressive digital filter to make it sound as clean as a 15" speaker can sound.
      We would use it for sound reinforcement only or by themselves at a school event on a field or for outdoor PA needs or something like that. If we were building a private events system we'd go with 932 over subs, either the ART or NX.

The 932 just hits instantly and to me sounded way better. If you are planning to use subs then buy the 932. The 932 seriously made me question my purchase of the TT 22A MK2!

      Just get them - djsupplystore.com/products/search/?q=RCF+NX they’re another level better than the 9 series. The cabinet is one of the most important parts of how a speaker sounds. The wood versus ABS makes a difference and it is also tuned differently. Totally worth the extra money if you can get them. We have a bunch available for sale at link above.

    Thank you for the review, info, and prospective. Honestly I was having a difficult time picking and deciding on speakers.
    I'm new to live music shows in general and I was considering going with a single RCF ART945 or Art985 and skipping out subs for small/tiny venue solo/duo performances to a crowd less than 100.(and potentially at most 150 people if I really try to push for it.)
    But now, I think the smarter play would be if I go for an RCF Art912 and getting a complimentary sub.
    Would you recommend a JBL PRX 900 subwoofer or EV Subwoofer? or should I go for the RCF Line of subwoofers such as the RCF SUB 702?
    Should I settle with 12" sub or maybe just go ahead for an 18" subwoofer?
    Of course these decisions mostly depends on the size of my audience, I assume that I should be okay with 12"speaker and 12"sub until my audience size grows and I feel that I need an upgrade for coverage and don't worry too much about tone/sound quality at this price(Because everything sounds good in their own respects and it's subjective).
    I want a bit of dancing and a bit of singing so I'm starting to think that this is the best set up for me. It can fill a room and give me what I want in sound quality.
    I was considering a RCF Art915 because I really liked the sound but I feel like you're correct about 15" woofer's potential to muddy the clarity of the speaker.
    Since the A915 and A912 share the same Compression Driver I assume that I could rest assure that the A912 has the same sound quality just instead being a 12" woofer?
    Thanks again for the video information! I'm glad I stopped by to listen to your product review and demonstration. Super useful information for me.

    I think it'd be pretty cool to see the 3-in compression driver with two 10-in woofers. Not sure if that could be something made to fit on a pole and work properly, whether it's an MTM style or tmm style.
    I just don't see the point in having a giant Tweeter and then attenuating it because the woofer can't keep up. Two woofers always makes more sense to me, but I'm coming from home audio background and I build speakers the way I mentioned MTM style

    All our gear is RCF. I watched a Brian S Redd video quite some time ago where he was complementing the quality of sound from his Art 312's so I purchased a pair for my younger brother. Since then my son has become interested in DJ'n so I purchased him 2 set's of Evox speakers the 5's and the 8's. These speakers have performed perfectly for the smaller gigs that we were doing. As my son became better we reinvested his money into new speakers as now he was performing at HS dances, so we needed separate subs. We picked up the 915's, 910's and 2 Sub 705's. I'd like to say that even the entry level 915's rocked HS dances alone with no sub. Great sounding speaker. We've used just the 910'2 and one sub for block parties here in San Francisco again they worked great for what we needed. Next month he has a homecoming dance that we plan on using both subs for the first time with the 915's. I've yet to even test run them. I expect them to rock. We've been extremely happy with both the Evox and the ART series line up. I did have one issue though. At a HS club day I had the Evox 5's for background sound in a smallish courtyard and an amp went out. That is currently getting repaired. The output of the single Evox 5 was sufficient for what was needed. Great products.

      Bro since you own them I’d be very curious to know one thing:
      Let’s say I run the art 915 on one side and the art 910 on the other.
      The art 915 plays full range, meanwhile the art 910 plays with an highpass filter.
      I turn both of them up to limit.
      Of course the bass is going to be stronger on the 915.
      But in this specific configuration, which speaker is going to be the loudest mids and highs at max?

      I was hoping that it could go much louder, since the bass uses a lot of energy, so when you get rid of them it should have a lot more headroom and power.
      Hope to find some more information about that

    Hey, love your video. I have an interesting/different question...I'm looking to pick up speakers and a mic set for a elementary school. I've been around a lot of DJ's (as a wedding videographer) over the last 15+ years. Got to know quite a bit about sound...so when I noticed my kids school had a very poor sound system and I heard they were gonna upgrade, I spoke up and now I'm sorta in charge of getting them a great set of speakers and a couple wireless mics (with good range and solid battery life). They'd have a loose budget of around $5k. Well, they were originally saying $10k but when I spoke up and said, "you don't need to spend that much to get great sound" they went "you're hired!" (sorta). Anyway, they want portable, so they had purchased a single Bigfoot 2 speaker system. But it just wasn't doing it and they really needed two speakers to cover their outdoor events that this is being used for. A few hundred kids/parents (always) outdoors during various holidays. So I figured a couple RCF speakers, a cart (or some way to make it easy on them to roll out and roll back into the office after each event...thoughts?) and then a couple good wireless mics (shure?) that sound good, etc etc. I'd get them a simple mixer too, but there's no real "sound person" there so I was trying to keep it simple with less cables and cords for them to get by. So maybe a couple of 915AX speakers? Your 912AX wasn't as "rich" as the 932 in your review so maybe the 915AX would make up for that?? Or I could do one of those AX models and another ART932/945 or two 932's or even two 945's? Simplicity helps elementary teachers which is why the BT option might help. As for mics, they really just run 1-2 mics and some music from their phones for most of their events but dependability and quality is key so I'd rather spend more if it'll help them. Also it's not my money. Lol. So keep it simple & portable for this application...and you got $5k (or maybe a little more if necessary) to spend...what would you do?

    • @user-UnMagico
      @user-UnMagico Год назад

      Not sure if you’ve purchased speakers yet. I can speak from experience that a pair of the ART 915’s is more then enough . I have used these speakers for High school assemblies on the football field. The ART series 910/912/915 all have the same amp and tweeter. If you went with a set of the 910’s ($1500) they would be the most portable and manageable. If you wanted more low end you could add a sub for about +$1300. RCF SUB 705as mk3. You could add Xvive U3 dual Bluetooth transmitter/receiver for $400’s. This will save about 4-500. If the teachers used their phones for music there always the chance that a call/Alerts might come through.
      RCF F10 XR is a good option for a mixer a used one can be picked up for $260.00 from pro audio star. They could connect a computer to the mixer.
      A set of Ultimate Support TS 100B air assisted speaker stands. $300. Mics: Shude BLX288 dual mic setup. $600. Pig hog XLR cables have a great warranty. These can be purchased on Amazon. At this point we’re at about 4500. before taxes. Since this setup is going to be for outside assemblies you might want to consider a portable battery/ inverter. Check out ECOFLOW Delta Pro a refurbished one can be purchased from ECOFLOW with a manufacturer’s warranty on Ebay for about $2000. This battery has 3600 Wh. I’ve used two batteries/ inverters totaling to 2500 Wh and powered a set of 910’s and a 15” sub for over 6 hours at a block party and still had about 20% of power still available. The battery can be used for other applications. (Blackouts) All of this can fit on a rock n roller stealth r12 cart. ($300) Ebay. All this gear is about $6800 beore taxes. Good luck let us know what you decide to do. I hope this helps. I almost forgot covers for the speakers $200 the great thing about these covers is that they stay on the speakers all the time they have flaps where the stands go. Now we’re at $7000.

I ended up getting them 2 RCF ART 915AX speakers as their main speakers and then 2 RCF ART 932-a speakers as two additional speakers for their bigger events that need 4 speakers. I also go them the Shure SLXD24D/SM58 dual mic setup and a small mixer for the bigger events when they'll need it and a bunch of cables and a couple rolling carts to easily move stuff around. B&H gave some nice educational discounts which saved more than $1000 easy. Oh, I also got them a Jackery 2000 plus because I knew it'll come in handy when they don't wanna run extension cables all over the place. I love spending other people's money. Kept it all under $10k. We just ran it the other day out on the fields and it sounded awesome. A LOT more bass than I expected. I mean, outdoors is always tough but this was pretty damn impressive how far I could push it so I was happy. I just played Taylor Swift and the kids thought I was the best DJ on the west coast. ;)

Since I'm a singer using backing tracks, I'm wondering if you've ever assessed speakers based on the quality of sound for vocals, which might be subtly different than that of music? Average venue churches 300 - 800 people. We want the BEST vocal quality speaker, the LIGHTEST for best quality and price is no object. We are looking for speakers that will produce absolute best vocal quality possible, support a bass singer that can go off piano, cover average audience of 400-500 inside and the lightest possible with no road crew. Thinking about RCF 932 W/8003 SUB? Is there anything better to fit the above parameters I should look at or would that fit the bill? I work in 2 bands as a bassist and I roll all the production. I currently have a JBL VRX array setup, but it's a lot to move for smaller gigs. I also do some scaled down 2 pc where I use a pair of 1x12 Headrush FRFR speakers for FOH (not very loud gigs). My needs are somewhat similar to what some DJ's have said, which is I want to be able to have a setup with just 2 speakers that can do a decent job without a sub as this is becoming more and more the case. Generally these are 2-3pc gigs, no amps (all direct), sometimes dampened acoustic drums. With a set of JBL PRX815s that I tried, its almost enough, but not quite. So I'm wondering compared to that speaker, would the 932 with boost on be enough to push a little more low end over the JBL? It this point, I am really torn between the 932 and 945. That being said, in this economy, I'd prefer to save a few dollars if possible. What's your opinion?
