PLEASE KEEP IN MIND when you are watching my videos: I am showing you the least expensive, quickest "backyard" methods for repairing or servicing your lawnmower or equipment. Replacing all components such as gaskets and fuel lines is always recommended when rebuilding or repairing equipment. With these videos I hope you are able to fix and repair your lawnmower yourself with minimal parts, knowledge and tools. Thank you for watching!
Loved watching your videos through the years. I’ve learned a lot. That was a fun rescue on the ole snapper. Great job getting it going again, and glad to see you back in the game.
Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate the nice comment
How do you collect the goat piss for your cleaning solution?
I feel like I've seen this video before or am I from the future
Yes you are right! I released this video in 3 seperate parts several years ago
Awesome video! Love watching your videos. Great job on fixing the snapper mower. :) :)
Thank you so much Warren! I really appreciate you watching and the nice comment
Yo!! Met you today at the barber. 🤘😎 The west junkyard makes me think you have a North, South and East junkyard? That's a lot of mowers if that's the case. 😂
Funny. I lived on the corner of the street you drove down with that mower for 5 years. The Big blue house on the corner. 818.
Hey David!
Those short flywheel teeth will eat up the starter gear I've had the problem of that with a old wheelhorse mower because the flywheel teeth needed to be tall instead of short
Thank you sir. I feel same way you do. Get them running. Let someone else baby them. Good job.
Yep!
Very nice video you take the time for the small details thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I've seen those Snapper push mowers since the 1970s(as longasIcanremember). I really don't know jack about mowers. But the Snapper brand seemed special. We had a small yard and a front throwing McClane reel mower. No big deal. I was curious about the Snapper mowers : how good are they? Oh. I think that you can drive a tractor on public roads without registration...if it has one of those triangular signs on the back. ...but double check yir state laws and local ordinances... that Craftsman is a beast. get a cup holder!
Older Snappers have a good reputation, the rear engine models are kinda fun to drive!
Purple Power degreaser is my preferred cleaner. Followed by Dawn(to rinse and neutralize the PP). Zep Heavy Duty degreaser is PURPLE, curiously??? They both work excellently. But be careful, wear gloves, etc.: THEY WILL STRIP THE OILS FROM YIR SKIN . They also will destroy some stuff. So don't leave yir junk soaking in that stuff(without testing). PP makes good hand cleaner. Some of the best that I've ever used. I'm sure that there are a dozen other hand cleaners that work excellently, but I know PP is as good as it gets. Sorry about sounding like a commercial, but I hate cheap, lousy, ineffective degreasers that don't do JACK...except swindle money from you and yir wallet.
good advice Joseph
@@JeffsLittleEngineService I wish that the manufacturers of those products would mail out test samples of each. I'm sure that most people are aware of Dawn Dishwashiing liquid and its effectiveness on removing oil from birds... Fewer people are aware of Purple Power Degreaser or their hand soap. My friend turned me onto Purple Power Degreaser: he threw a bunch of denim jeans on the cement driveway and sprayed on some P-P. Then he sprayed the jeans with his pressure washer. BAM! The stains were gone. ...in about 2 minutes. And he cleaned a few shirts too. In less than 5 minutes, the clothing was on the line, CLEAN! Better than a Maytag Neptune and without burning up 30 minutes of WATTS AND YOUR TIME! As far as the hand soap: it was on sale; I tried it out. The hand soap ROCKS! Sure it cleans them well, but that's not what really stands out. It has lanolin and other stuff(I ain't no chemist nor cosmetologist...) THAT INSTANTLY MAKE YOUR HANDS FEEL BETTER! Like I said, if you can try it before you purchase it... I have no connection with those companies. I'm 58 and have tried many things over that time. This knowledge will save people money, time, and grief. Hey, that's the theme of yir show! Caution: don't git too close with that pressure washer, it'll slice yir Levis in two!
Great video, so what are your thoughts on Briggs and Stratton compared to kohler?
I like Briggs much better
I believe I seen this same video about a year and a half ago .
Yes you are right! I uploaded all 3 of the previous videos into this 1 video
Great video Jeff! Where are you ? It looks like it is nice and warm. I am in Pennsylvania and it is getting progressively colder every day. I miss the warm weather and being able to work outside every day. I have a bunch of applications in for some high level jobs in Big Pharma as well as working on a bunch of landscape mowers . I am anxious to see what pans out first. With my luck I will be working all day as a chemical engineer and then all night repairing small engines and I'lll burn out in six months...lol At least I will be able to buy my dream house and repair my vintage Porsche that I found in a barn in Western Pa.
Whats the best way to find machines worth repairing if you're just starting out?
offer free pickup of unwanted lawnmowers on Craigslist and social media
Looked like an old one by the way it was built. If you said the year I missed it. Hard to believe you got it running with such little work. I know it is not perfect yet but if you want to you will make it close to perfect. First time I would drive my lawn tractor on the road I would be arrested and hauled off. Those were some streets, yards and views. Ok so I am pretty sure this was not in Florida or New Orleans so can you tell me what State this was filmed in?
Thanks for the videos.
Southwest Washington state
seems like the washer is so thick it doesn't leave enough threads to put it that tight , but I'll keep watching
see if it's alright
Man I watched the same video a year or year and a half ago, what no new videos to make?
I originally uploaded this video in 3 separate videos. I combined all 3 into 1 to make it easier to watch. NEW videos are on the way! Thanks for watching

Hi Jeff's I would like to ask you my curiosity I see many repair videos of lawn tractor mechanics but I never see husqvarna AWD riders being repaired here, I have one. But don't they go to you as a clientele?
I have not seen one of those yet
I like that mid 80s Troy built pony you had there
Where do you find out about the amount of torque for each lawnmower? Is there an online resource or app?
Sometimes online. Otherwise I have almost every service manual to look it up
That craftsman limb chipper leaf shreeder you have I have the same one great resque job there Jeff
Thanks for watching friend!
@@JeffsLittleEngineService Anytime Jeff
...Jeff....great DIY video.....love the sombrero!...and I love the sound of your rooster!... :)
Thanks so much for watching and the nice comment!
Pretty surprised that you didn't have the idea to clean the terminals before trying to charge the battery. It won't take charge or won't charge fast or won't start if the terminals are garbage
Good tip

Thank you Rick!
Name that thing the goat. Cleaned with goat pee and a gas tank full too lol
LOL!
That was Deja Vu all over again!!!!
Thanks for watching JDREtiree!
Yes make the video and restore the mower
Can I replace a flathead opposed with an OHV vtwin? Will it match up?
Yes it should
@@JeffsLittleEngineService SO just the muffler is an issue. The opposed is angled and the OHV faces down. I founds some 1" flex exhaust tubing. maybe that will work.
Great video, thanks for making this video Jeff
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the nice comment
I'm getting the feeling of deja-vu watching this video
Yes sir! I uploaded this video a few years ago in three separate parts
No no no
LOL
Fun ride Jeff! Thank for the cool trip.
Thanks for watching Andy!
it's amazing to see how the lawnmower is brought back to life.
Thanks for watching Official Hipa. I have used your products before.
@@JeffsLittleEngineService I'm pleased to know that. If you have any feedback on our product or service, just let me know. We'd like to hear the voice from key opinion leaders like you.
Recipe tell you what it is
I have a question I have a Cub Cadet with a Kohler on it I believe 26 horse every time you turn the blades on it backfires why
Looks like fun but you a cupholder
Yes!
You can do that. Yes! And one more thing to ya on that part. Is you half to unbolt the engine twist it to where the bottom of the engine faces the back of the ridding lawnmower rear bar. Then your able to store it up right without oil pouring out of the engine.& etc. The bottom is actually called the crankcase oil galley pan.
Thanks Jeff man
Let’s do it
We are here
Yes,I do
Those are good little older mowers
kinda fun to drive too!
@@JeffsLittleEngineService I agree they are fun to run with the quick turns
I remember this one especially the hat 😆
Brand NEW videos coming soon! Thanks for watching and commenting Bill!
Your rescue rig is really cool Jeff.
Thanks friend! It was a fun day!
The closable tank vent is an awesome idea, except for those that don't understand such things, LOL
Excellent rescue and repair vid.
