Rafa is right.. Handled it so well and professionally with a smile. also when umpire treats differently, ask them the question not Rafa. And McEnroe can have favorites but don’t pass negative comments on live TV! I don’t even know why he is a commentator for Rafa’s matches in the first place!

Anyway the ball kids should not carry the sweaty towels. One way to reduce the time for wiping the sweat is to carry a small towel on the waist. Like Pat Cash used to do.
Now he did a good job responding and rebutting BUT he did not point out whether he actually takes more time than other players, regardless of the old time rule insituted pre-pandemic.
he did. See, is the Umpire choice to give warnings. when they know the state of the player they take a choice. They know that his matches are very physical, so they have to take a choice based on what they see. Players that are usually serve bots can easily go through points much quicker. The reality is, people understand that being physical takes more from you and the body has limits. Nadal is not the only one where the rules are bent, it happens often on very physical matches.
Kinda wondering if Rafa was playing him a bit asking him to repeat the question and saying that's some kind of joke? Messing with the reporter and then a dig with a smile. Pretty smooth if you ask me.
Look I believe the chair umpire should enforce the 25 second clock on the serve especially if it's blatantly over the limit but many (not all ) of Rafa's opponents take advantage of that time to catch their breath and regroup for the next point and if you're a competitor that can't be the excuse you use for why you lost a match. That's just weak.

The journalist is right. Rafa takes too much time before serving, he did that in RG as well, especially against Zverev. But he shouldn't have phrased the question disrespectfully like that
You're right about the RG semi-final against. Rafa took a lot of time. But those were exceptional humid circumstances (hot and stormy outside, roof closed). The claycourt became because of that muddy and almost unplayable (1st set 1 1/2 hours), which (partly) caused Zverev's injury. The referee during that game was right not to give warnings.

John McEnroe can't say anything about anyone, he threw temper tantrums on the court.
He wasn’t criticizing nadal for temper tantrums though so what does that have to do with anything

There's a clock indicating how much time left before incurring a time penalty. Don't know if in all tournaments though
