    Rafa is right.. Handled it so well and professionally with a smile. also when umpire treats differently, ask them the question not Rafa. And McEnroe can have favorites but don’t pass negative comments on live TV! I don’t even know why he is a commentator for Rafa’s matches in the first place!

      @@mariapilarme I love Nadal but there are plenty of times he runs down the serve clock and isn’t called for it. I don’t think he does it on purpose, I believe he’s a genuinely good guy and probably the GOAT, but I do agree with McEnroe that the shot clock should be strictly enforced or dropped.

    P.S. I grew up in 1970's and 80's and McEnroe & Nadal are by far my 2 favorite tennis players. I will back John in every argument possible! To say Rafa disrupts the game and is getting special treatment is Johnny Mac missing how much he controlled millions of people with his crazy antics. Honestly, he is the last tennis player in history to be 👉 at another player!!!!!!

    • @JoTokutora
      @JoTokutora Год назад +4

      he did. See, is the Umpire choice to give warnings. when they know the state of the player they take a choice. They know that his matches are very physical, so they have to take a choice based on what they see. Players that are usually serve bots can easily go through points much quicker. The reality is, people understand that being physical takes more from you and the body has limits. Nadal is not the only one where the rules are bent, it happens often on very physical matches.

    Look I believe the chair umpire should enforce the 25 second clock on the serve especially if it's blatantly over the limit but many (not all ) of Rafa's opponents take advantage of that time to catch their breath and regroup for the next point and if you're a competitor that can't be the excuse you use for why you lost a match. That's just weak.

    • @benkeijs
      @benkeijs Год назад

      You're right about the RG semi-final against. Rafa took a lot of time. But those were exceptional humid circumstances (hot and stormy outside, roof closed). The claycourt became because of that muddy and almost unplayable (1st set 1 1/2 hours), which (partly) caused Zverev's injury. The referee during that game was right not to give warnings.
