I wonder if Taylor realizes how lucky he has been when it comes to facing the great Rafa. They have met three times this year with 1. Rafa playing him with a cracked rib the first time, 2. A torn abdominal muscle the second time and 3. being coated with at least 6 inches of rust from having played only six matches in 130 days this time. That is not Taylor’s fault of course and he has played very well all three times. But it will be good to hopefully see him play a fully healthy and conditioned Rafa at some point in the future to see how they truly stack up against each other.
He played against Nadal on indoor hard courts which is worst surface for Nadal and he played against player who is 10 years older than him He played against player who didn't prepare or practice for indoor hard courts like 2019 and 2020 He reached semifinals in Paris masters 2019 and 2020 and reached semifinals in atp finals 2020 and he was very competitive those years He beated 2 players in Round Robin in 2019 and 2020 He beated 3 players in 2015 AtP finals when he was young or in late 20's So Nadal is not weak he is just unlucky because his 2 biggest rivals are better than Nadal on indoor hard courts mostly. Nadal didn't play lavers cup at all he have family problems like his wife is pregnant so he have to be with her only for Federer he came simple Nadal is struggling with injuries since Wimbledon,Family problems etc and he was broken that Federer is retired from tennis mostly. Fritz always gives 100% best against Nadal on any surface except Clay Fritz earned it he beated Nadal twice he played brilliant against Djokovic in Australian open also it took lot of time to defeat Fritz for Djokovic in 2020 or 2021 Nadal looks very weak and old he is not like 2019 and 2020 at all if you want to see Nadal on indoor hard courts See ATP finals(2010,2013,2015, 2006,2007,2020)😤😤😤😤😤😤 See Paris masters(2007,2009,2013) 2019,2020 he reached finals and semifinals though he is very bad at indoors he lost to better players Though he is 36 years old he played brilliant in 1.
