He's given everything to this sport. I've been so grateful to watch him through my early teens into my late twenties, and he's still there fighting. One of the greatest of all time for sure. ❤

0:45 days before leaving for Barcelona, really, I didn't know if I could come back
0:47 to compete in an official match, and
0:49 well, I've been able to play for two weeks and here
0:54 it has been an unforgettable week, well
0:58 honestly, the only thing I can do is
1:01 give thanks, it has been an incredible journey that started when I was
1:06 very little and the first time I came here to Madrid if I remember correctly was
    1:10 2003, but I think the first time I
    1:12 arrived being
    1:14 competitive, I believe
1:21 the first time I arrived being competitive in Madrid was 2005, eh
1:28 it was one of the most
1:30 exciting victories I've had in my
1:31 career when It still played on the indoor court, coming from behind at zero, eh. And well,
1:38 from there until today, it has only been
1:40 support and unconditional love from everyone here in
1:45 Madrid. So, I can only give thanks, there's no way to
    1:47 thank enough, really.
1:58 I'm going to try to do it without crying
2:02 and doing this without crying is going to
2:03 be hard, Rafa, for everything you have given us. It has been 21 years since you played here
2:08 for the first time, eh. During this time,
2:10 you have grown, you have become a legend,
2:12 one of the best athletes
2:14 in history, and you have left your mark here in Madrid by winning
    2:18 the tournament in 2005.
    2:21 [Applause]
2:37 If you could please finish lowering that year, oh ah.

I would think based on his wife and sister crying as he spoke that the answer is, unfortunately, yes, barring some minor miracle improvement to his health. He's playing hurt and it shows on the court with a lower velocity serve and his movement to the ball is hindered.

this postmatch ceremony looks like they know better than Rafa if he will ever play Madrid again, for me Nadal looks so confused during whole speech and this trophy from Feliciano was KO, because he literally didn’t say that he quit, he kept saying that all depends on body, Lehecka play perfect agressive game in Madrid, he will problem even for 33 years old Rafa, so it’s not the case
