So glad you finally got this done and it was a positive experience for you! I have had two scares with mammograms and had to go for follow up radiology tests and both came back clear. I think this happens a lot, most of my friends have has a similar experience. It's funny what a huge difference having a positive, encouraging staff makes with things like this.
My very first experience was with a young girl who basically tormented me with the amount of slides she took and the positions she put me in. I woke up the next day with bruises on my breasts from the experience. I got a letter from the Drs office saying that my tests came back with something on the films and I needed to come back for a re-do. I didn't go for another test for 3 years! It was stupid of me but my experience was so painful and upsetting I buried it in my mind.
The next experience was a joy. The woman who was my tech was the most calming, reassuring person I've ever met. I had no discomfort and the test was over in 1/4 of the time. I told her what happened to me before and she said to me " that person was new and learning on you and probably nervous herself and didn't know what she was doing." I thought about that and now looking back, I'm sure she was right. Everyone has to learn but I'm not the one to learn on when it comes to something like this.
I'm going to say the Quaker prayer of beholding for you, it will keep you surrounded and protected in the grace of Gods wondrous ,warm, healing light. :)

Hello, just found you on RUclips. Been having major anxiety about the breast MRI. HOWEVER, watching this has given me some relief. I've recently been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and all of this has been scary. Best wishes to you!

I had one today and it absolutely SUCKS! Theres a metal bar w/ a very small amount of padding that your sternum lies on the whole time! It started to ache and hurt towards the end! You can't breathe bc your laying flat on your chest! Now the tech tried to get me to fully take my clothes off and I told her to go to hell that its a breast MRI I don't need to take my pants off!! I can't imagine if I was elderly or overweight- I wouldn't be able to breathe!! Dont take your pants off! But make sure there's no metal on your pants! Mine were yoga pants!! I thought about sitting in a hot bath and cutting my wrists while I was in there! So good for you and nursery rhymes whatever works!!

O I love the songs remind me of when I was a little girl. Its great that that worked for you. For my breast MRI I just kept thinking about my grandsons, then my little kittens I have at home. And then I had thoughts of my wedding. So to get thru this Ladies we have to find something to focus on.

I had to go in for a breast MRI but had to reschedule because I totally freaked out. I have never been claustrophobic until I had to have this MRI. I think I have even more anxiety now because I know what to expect. I'm so thankful that I found your video. I'm going to try singing in my head/meditation. they are also prescribing me valium, which I have never been on before. very nervous for my second attemp

Glad it went well. I was listening (but not viewing) while I was working. I will have to view it at home. From what I could tell just listening, the information about the procedure was very helpful and should help to allay people's concerns if they need the test sometime down the road. I got called back after a mammogram once, but luckily I was okay and haven't been called back since.

Thank you! This video really helped me. I went for an MRI this past Monday, and experienced some anxiety. I have to reschedule my MRI, but I have been searching the Internet for ways to keep calm during the MRI. When they put me in the tube, I had a wave of emotions and feelings I have never felt before and it was overwhelming. I think I am going to practice meditation and mantras to prepare for my next appointment. Again THANK YOU!!!!

I had my MRI guided biopsy in May 2016. There is a history if breast cancer in my family...my sister is stage iv.I have a regular MRI then mammogram/ultrasound 6 months apart. When I had my MRI guided biopsy..it was the worst experience ever! Not only did the shot in my breast hurt like crazy, the epinephrine made me shake. Long story short.. I still have a "hematoma" in my breast-6 months later. Went for my mammogram/ultrasound the other day and the "new" doctor wants to do a ultrasound guided biopsy in Feb.. I told him probably not because you will be doing a biopsy on a hematoma! Glad that you are clear....

Don’t know if you will see this, but I remember watching this video 3 years ago before my MRI. Long story, but I did end up with a double mastectomy and I am cancer free. I also took the brac 1 and 2 dna test and it was negative, which means my daughter change of getting breast cancer are no more than anybody else. Also my chance of Ovarian cancer is also just like anyone else and not increased.

I only had a hard flat foam on my forehead and one on my chin holding my entire head. You can't move at all! I am overweight as well and at my upper chest held my wt. with my large breasts dangling. It was the most uncomfortable I had ever been plus staff saying if you move at all you have to reschedule. No pressure right? I had a double mastectomy but won't ever forget the breast mri.

I can't understand why you would put this off in the first place. Breasticals are nothing to play with. Seriously though, I was just diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma. Just had my MRI. Now waiting for surgeons call. Also people, please do the research, everyone has the genes and cells, they're just dormant, until they're not.

I had my mri. Just waiting on results. As for the test it was 30min on tummy. They put a pillow for you to rest your leg on. Took my arms up slid pillow under them to rest better. My face rested down. She gave me a buzzer to ring if I needed it. Nothing to the test.. Except the noise. It's loud very loud. I had headphones on still loud. I just relaxed and prayed. Once in the machine I never opened my eyes. It doesn't hurt lots of air. I m glad it's over. Wishing you all the best God bless Kay
