What an incredible example of how late night talk shows used to be and the spontaneous nature of having a couch full of guests on at the same time. Just an ill-timed comment away from a dust up between George Peppard and Paul Williams. Thanks for sharing this!
What a GREAT era!! Look at " Little Ennis" ( Paul Williams) Richard Harris was A LIVING LEGEND! I wonder how long they lasted? I am now 54 and I just LOVE this show and the era!
Talk shows in the 60s and 70s were mostly talk shows. On some the panel of guests spoke openly toward the last 15 or 20 mins of the show. That was when they really were at their best. What you have during the day are scandal shows and at night promo shows. Ann was so beautiful.
Everybody loved Richard Harries, even his biggest enemies loved Richard, Even I loved Richard years after he stole my land and my best dog the film The Filed, I forgot the bad things he did, just because you have a big fight, a major falling out that is no a reason not to love Richard Harris
Yes, all that smoking and drinking while being interviewed made the guests very relaxed and probably more open because they were slowly becoming more tipsy.
This was so entertaining! But George Peppard's behavior was so odd! He pushed Harris's hand away, insults Paul Williams...so bizarre. But Harris and Turkel...I hope they were happy together. They seemed to be.
I can't believe George Peppard could give any kind of criticism towards Richard Harris, the best movies George had done were long gone and he would be reduced to playing on a mediocre t.v. show. Paul Williams stood his ground perfectly.
I often think that the big stars or famous artists must find it extremely difficult to have long lasting marriages because of the demading life style of the work they do.
Is this the 80's that Paul Williams claims he can't remember. Sober, he's a great guy. I think booze or cocaine may have been in charge that night. Richard Harris may be my favorite actor ever. He's certainly my favorite talk show guest not named Gilbert Gottfried. 😂
They split up eight years later but she was at his bedside when he died, which is touching. Cleaarly, their love endured even if the marriage didn't.
Well Richard Harris got the best part of this marriage, Ann is young, funny, very bright and a fox.
lol, Harris was the same.
Ann Turkel reminds me of Carly Simon.

I agree my friend, The Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon has turned into a Disney kid show
yup. should be on nickelodeon.
Fallon is a joke.
I thought it was Richard Harris that called Paul Williams a midget . . . To me the voice sounds more like Richard's . . .
no, it was that drunk Peppards

Paul Williams knew how to stand up for himself. Good for him. George was the one that was small in that exchange.
Harris a great actor...but a wild man
Harris Foster exactly.
" King Arther!" The guy was a LIVING LEGEND!

Ah, the days when you were allowed to smoke and drink alcohol on live TV. Best times ever.
Yes, all that smoking and drinking while being interviewed made the guests very relaxed and probably more open because they were slowly becoming more tipsy.
Yes . . . Mankind's greatest achievement . . .
Plenty boozing on Late Night still - Colbert especially. More than happy smoking outlawed!
Beautiful then and Beautiful now!
Let's see, there's John, Paul, George, and Richard.
Oh, let it be... 😁
Good one!
Stunning woman.

At that time in his life he was an Alcoholic. he was always drunk and acted very strange.
In terms of the marriage between Ann Turkel and Richard Harris it only lasted 8 years 1974 - 1982
Notice Ed McMahon had the good sense to sit in between Peppard and Williams.
The marriage lasted 8 years
Thank you I was wondering that!

2:24 "starts sticking his hand up my dress"
WOW. When late night television was entertainment.
This video is the 70's in condensed form
Mr. Turkle works the night shift on the ward, from 11pm to 7am.
don't quit your dayjob.
Lmao... how does it feel to be married to Richard Harris without a driver's license!
Peppard is hammered!
and the drunken slob insulted Paul Williams who was ready to clock him if pushed.
Thanks for the Upload !! Ann is Very beautiful !! Xd

SHALLOW CELEBRITIES
She's really Carly Simon.

Was this 1975?
She resembles Carly Simon--very fetching.
I always liked George Peppard - But he comes across like a jerk on these talk shows all the time
Short people got no reason . . .
Drink 🥤 ing much ? 😂
Johnny Carson usually isn't an ass but he must not like Richard Harris insinuating drunkedness to his wife.
Johny loved Richard and got on quite well.
Best of friends. Harris on the show tens of times; maybe 25
She reminds me of Trump's wife, Melania.
That was mean.
Married--not! Not the same last name. Scriptures have it that the two must be one. Blah grin.
take it outside, godboy.
