Maltodextrin gives me chest pains, my Dad died of a heart attack, I hate chest pains. I shouldn't have to email LMNT for the true list of ingredients after suffering chest pains, should I?

Attia has confused, to a great degree, correlation with causation and whiffed on the causation.
VO2 max will naturally correlate with mitochondrial health.
People with toxic mitochondria will not get healthier training for a marathon!
Someone with tip-top mitochondria might have so much clean energy they decide to train for marathons on a whim.
      It’s the mitochondria, Money!
      The VO2 max follows.
If the mitochondria is toxic and said person goes straight to trying to blow up their VO2 max, they may take the pavement temperature challenge sooner rather than later!
      Think!

Muscle mass is an effect of mitochondrial health and epigenetics.
I had a friend who was yoked in his 30s. Due to poor epigenetics (the inverse of the RPC), my ability to gain muscle ended at 21 due to nerve damage and, frankly, my body refusing to add muscle and additional mitochondrial stress.
It probably saved my life. My yoked friend had a heart attack at an age about 10 years younger than I am now. The surgeries damaged his kidneys and he’s in dialysis right now.
In our 30s, Attia and Lyon would look at both of is and put me in the grave…. Yet they would have been exactly wrong.
And it wasn’t because I had any secret sauce - I was a mess, but my body had a mechanism in play that made working out futile. If it didn’t, I would have worked myself to death as those muscles would have torched my bio-copper and magnesium such that my heart would have become depleted!
If your muscles are torching your deleted bio-copper and magnesium stores, brother… your heart will deplete faster.
      2+2=4.
I agree with both ASSUMING one has healthy mitochondria.
If not, and many don’t, then they need some combination of the RPC and detox to rebuild their bio-copper, magnesium, retinoic acid and mitochondrial epigenetics and function first, or following your advice here might well damage or kill them much sooner than if they didn’t.

    • @wellnesspathforme6236
      @wellnesspathforme6236 9 месяцев назад +2

      Energy flux validates my point.
Low energy flux will strongly correlate with low functioning mitochondria and high energy flux will strongly correlate high functioning mitochondria with solid mitochondrial epigenetics.
      So… 2+2=4 again!
Sit back, relax, and think slowly through your assumed cause and effect paradigm and try to prove whatever you think is the cause of health is superior to mitochondrial function.
I have and mitochondrial function is the top of the mountain as far as I can tell.
      Everything else flows from it.
The cart can’t pull the horse.

He never seems to listen to my comments. I paste the one I just made ------> I need to correct something. Few have said you need to decrease protein intake as get older, I have heard no expert say that. The question is how much do we increase it by, if at all. I would go with Longo who is a qualified professional full time (all his life) longevity researcher (not a GP etc who wrote a best selling book). The amounts of protein he recommends for bodyweight is way below what Peter A says. I quote Longo "If you are below the age of 65, keep protein intake low (0.31 to 0.36 grams per pound of body weight). That comes to 40 to 47 grams of proteins per day for a person weighing 130 pounds, and 60 to 70 grams of protein per day for someone weighing 200 to 220 pounds. Over age 65, you should slightly increase protein intake but also increase consumption of fish, eggs, white meat, and products derived from goats and sheep to preserve muscle mass. Consume beans, chickpeas, green peas, and other legumes as your main source of protein."

@@roripantsu My point was about him ignoring the leading specialist longevity researchers who are qualified and have studied it all their lives like Longo. He should have heard of them, and know their stance. In favor of others like GPs who have little relevant training but have best selling books by telling people what is trendy that they want to believe. Even so, when I made that comment I recall it was number 100. Now 9 hours up for this video and and 200 comments in total. In my experience most channels scan most comments to see if there is anything of interest. I have seen him reply to others comments by never mine... But still, that was not my point. The key takeaways from Thomas DeLauer's discussion with 11 longevity scientists are:
    1. **Increased Protein with Age**: Contrary to common belief, increasing protein intake as we age is beneficial for muscle protein synthesis and overall longevity.
    2. **Importance of Muscle Mass**: Muscle mass plays a crucial role in preventing frailty and maintaining quality of life in older age, going beyond just physical appearance.
    3. **Creatine Beyond Muscle Building**: Creatine is effective not only for muscle growth but also for reducing inflammation and enhancing recovery after workouts.
    4. **Critical Role of Omega-3s**: A deficiency in Omega-3 fatty acids can be as harmful as smoking in terms of cardiovascular health, underscoring their importance in the diet.
    5. **Longevity Insights from Monaco**: The high life expectancy in Monaco is attributed to factors like diet (especially olive oil's polyphenols), sunlight exposure, and vitamin D levels.
    6. **Nutrient Quality Over Caloric Restriction**: Quality of nutrients might be more important than simply reducing calorie intake for longevity, as seen in studies with primates.
    7. **Processed Food Consumption Concerns**: The high consumption of processed foods in the U.S. is linked to various health issues and challenges in controlling appetite.
    8. **GABA Supplements and Brain Health**: GABA supplements may not be effective due to their inability to cross the blood-brain barrier, suggesting a need to focus on other substances for relaxation and recovery.
    9. **Alcohol's Negative Impact on the Brain**: Alcohol consumption adversely affects various body systems, particularly the brain, impacting overall health.
    10. **Peptides for Injury Recovery**: Certain peptides, like BPC157, can significantly aid in injury recovery by enhancing blood flow to the affected areas.
    11. **Energy Flux in Fat Loss**: A higher energy flux (consuming and expending more energy) is more effective for fat loss compared to a lower energy flux (consuming and expending less energy).

Here are the supplements that I will keep. 1. NAC 2. Dr. Bergs D3 /K2 3. Dr. Bergs gallbladder formula (a must if you consume a lot of fat) 4. Tumeric 5. Equate vision formula 50+, 6. Bilberry, 7. HMB, 8. Nutricost Hits Vitamin B complex. 9. Alpha Brain 10. Vitamin C 1000 mg chewables.
The most important thing is my breakfast. 6 eggs cooked with citric acid from limes and lemon juice. You can always sprinkle in your creatine monohydrate( 11) and a little bit of cinnamon and ginger. A dash of jerk seasoning for flavor and an Equate meal replacement milkshake. 😋

If the true problem is not understood then a solution cannot be found. Once again, the focus is only on the physical when the real issue is not physical health but rather Emotional Health (not mental health). Even Attia's book and final chapter states "Emotional Health (i.e. relationships) trumps everything else". The Blue Zone research states "more than 50% of the longevity equation is your relationships and connections". We cannot continue to try and solve humanity's emotional problems with physical solutions. This is one of the greatest oversights of modern medicine.

So you are motivated or else you wouldn't follow your habits. I think a lot of people misunderstand what motivation actually is. It's not a feeling. It's a drive. A pull. And you may hate doing something, it may feel horrible but you will still feel pulled by it because you think it's important. That is motivation. Without it you wouldn't do anything. So when it comes to things that you know are good for you but you still don't do them then the problem is not a lack of motivation but the fact that you are suppressing your motivation! You wouldn't feel bad if you didn't feel motivated to do it. The fact that you suppress it makes you feel horrible about it, not the anticipation of the act itself.

Nope. Dr. Aimen on alcohol. They have done dozens of studies over decades with hundreds of thousands of people eliminating every possible variable and every single one of them has shown that moderate alcohol drinkers outlive non-drinkers and heavy drinkers. No question about it. The facts are the facts.
What I can't figure out is why it's now PC to deny that undeniable fact.

Especially since I'm not a breakfast eater and often don't eat until early afternoon. In light of some new research discuss here and also by Dr Valter Longo, Mark Sisson and others I am now drinking a protein shake in the morning. I don't want to lose muscle and become frail!

Why do all so called "experts" have to make health so damn complicated? For one thing, ordinary people can't afford the supplements and "superfoods" you talk about. Here's some simple advice. Stop eating so much sugar. Do whatever exercise you enjoy. Sleep well. Destress your life in any way possible. Do things you enjoy. That's it. All this other stuff is noise.

    • @louisj.marciano3390

Great point and here’s the answer that I know you know… lol….The marketplace is flooded with these “so called experts” all saying the same thing with their own twist. These are people wanting to earn a living without working in the classic sense of the word and because they are in abundance to build individual value they must present the illusion of the solutions to wellness being highly complex and technical endeavor rather than stating it as simply and correctly as you did. There’s no money to be had by keeping it simple. To the same affect that there is more money in creating medications rather than fixing the habits that make them necessary. It’s worth noting that while explaining the how and the way are bodies work is complex, the blueprint of how to behave healthy requires the simplest of explanations as demonstrated within your post.

Labored breathing. Long days sitting in chairs watching TV. All my grandparents lived into their 90's as well, and their QOL was absolutely miserable. The goal here is to hopefully avoid that end.
Also, the food that our grandparents ate is not the same food we eat today. There's been a massive bait and switch going in the food industry over the last 40 years.

But your Dad is still a man, so why not start with some short, light program by Lucy Wyndham-Read? She is a qualified trainer, you can trust. Very slowly by and by you can move up to more demanding programs, add small water bottles or cans of beans to the exercises. For me, a retired lady, Lucy's programs are the best, adding good cheer. She is so cute, kind, knowledgeable Her smile is contagious, and the fact, that she does the exercises together with you is so motivating. Not just telling: do five of these, or ten of those, she does them together with you in the videos. Time flies. (Men have more gain of the muscle-building exercises than women have - biology again!)
Suggestion - take this 5 min exercise video and adapt it: ruclips.net/video/JDhnqAPtXzY/видео.html Week one, do each of the movements daily with each 4 reps, next week 6 reps, then 8 reps, etc, until following along full 5 min. So really measured slow progress. The main thing is making it a daily habit. Even just thinking about these moves helps, as thinking activates the nerve connections. As his caring son try to gym along with him, help him move to a chair where he can swing his arms a bit. It want harm you, either, you can add some weights and consider the small program as a warm up.
All the best wishes! It warms my heart that you are so considerate, though life is hard, admittedly. You have great ideas about eating well! Hope you'll enjoy training with Lucy and you'll both have a good time!

Eat a bit of each if you feel OK and blood tests are OK but chose a better quality food if you can afford it. There are plenty of foods out there not costing the earth. They might not be the tastiest but are simple, cheaper and fairly safe such as Sardines, Carrots, ginger for tea for detox, etc.

Bpc-157 is dangerous if not used in the right setting, whilst it can't cause tumor/cancerous growth within the body, if you have a pre existing tumor bpc-157 can cause aggressive growth (there is actual data to support this), so this can be a very dangerous/potentially life shortening peptide if you have a cancerous tumor you're not aware of.
In terms of recovery (in a non tumor setting) it is an amazing peptide and a great addition to anyones stack that is looking to recover quicker.
But it seems every video i see praising the recovery effects of bpc-157 never talks about the dangers of it, I'm not sure if everyone is aware of that fact, but given a large portion of your channel is geared towards longevity, might be something worth discussing for those viewers who don't do their own research.

I am a man at 70yo eat 5 x-large eggs (thanks to many scientists) and 1 small can of sardines (thanks to Dr Bozworth) + according to recent research - supplement of whey concentrate (not the isolate of which some good elements for the brain may have been removed). My daily protein is about 30-40 grams; for carbs I eat fruits [that add some protein] and honey - no rice, no bread, no sugar to maintain a lean healthy body. Excess proteins will be converted to carbs and fats. I do single leg or arm REDUCED EXERTION HIT [REHIT] daily for about 9 minutes for 2 sets with dumbbells [1 set of many reps until exhaustion with dumbbells and body weight interspersed with 2-3 minutes rest; then 1 more set of many reps until exhaustion]. The rest of the 9 minutes is for warm-up and cool down. I do not need much protein, because I maintain lean muscle mass for longer life. More heavy weights will need much proteins that cannot be digested by older persons. Those who exercise less, metabolize protein less - and need less protein. Older persons [more than 40 yo] need only enough protein to maintain lean muscles for longer lifestyle. Refer to Dr. Longo, Dr. Rosdale and Rimon. According to several other MDs, higher protein intake would require a person to lift heavier weights, which stresses the internal organs - heart, liver, kidneys, joints ETC.

This episode misspoke Dr. Attia's stance on longevity. Delauer made it appear that Dr. Attia professed Zone 2 and VO2 Max as the key factors to longevity and did not prioritize strength training. Whereas if you listen to Dr. Attia, whether on the many podcasts or in his book, he prioritizes what he calls the "four pillars," Zone 2, VO2 Max, Strength Training, and Stability. He takes a holistic approach and discusses that even with limited time, one must still incorporate all four pillars. DeLauer used a clip with Dr. Gabrielle Lyon who referenced "literature" citing strength training doesn't matter. However, that is not Dr. Attia's stance whatsoever. The reason Dr. Attia professes the four pillars is that you need cardiovascular strength, and stability to sustain good health. You can do all the strength training in the world but a lack of stability can halt all your efforts with a fall.

A recent study disproves Dr. Attias' notion that you must break up eating protein for proper absorption. It showed that, like all other carnivores, we can feed a ton at once and will steadily utilize all of it over time. So OMAD is still just fine, given you do the gram per lb of ideal weight. A 1lb ribeye has 110 grams, and I'm best around 220 lbs, so I eat 2 lbs a day, usually in one sitting.
