Big Brandoh! I'm so FREAKIN happy I found your videos! I have been researching methods for printing our shirts ourselves and the costs were making my eyes water. We are still in our first year and I'm not trying to take out any loans! I stumbled onto your video about white toner printers...when you said you just ordered from Supacolor or whoever else you said, I was like, "WHUT?!!!" (A) I had no idea there were pro printing services. (B) I don't know anyone who could recommend a service I could trust with the quality our audience expects. We print my daughters art on products for the exotic pet (reptiles and amphibians) niche market. Your videos are saving me $$$! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I'm starting my t shirt line based on my hand painted designs. The first group involves the big fin cars of the 50's. Since they will feature chrome and painted car surfaces, my question is how well can supacolor reproduce my designs?
Hello BB, I am so glad I ran across your video. I appreciate you spitting out your knowledge. Newbies like myself don't have much money, so we have to learn to work smart to prosper. Thanks Again!
Hey Brandoh! Thanks so much for your reply. I pretty much had abandoned the big fin cars of the 50's because of the high cost of digital printing needed to reproduce my initial designs, but now I'll take a hard look at supacolor. Future designs include war, peace, our planet, the environment and pro life thoughts. I'll keep looking at your new and old postings....peace brother
great video..question....why not just put 3 of the taco logo on 1 sheet? looks like it would fit. and do you like supscolor transfers better than stahl's transfer express? thanks
Big Brandoh, this really explained a lot, I'm attempting to create a pricelist for my business and I want to use Supacolor prices to to create my own, I get it now, thanks 💪🏾
i hear you. i have a dtf a printer and you really dont wanna deal with the rip software, white inks or these epson print heads. haha not a fun process.
Hey Big Brando have you seen the folks with Straight Outta Content, they're doing 22"x24" full color gang sheets DTF for $19.99 ea. Haven't tried em out yet but imagine how many designs you could fit on a 22"x24" sheet 😎
ive never seen them or heard of them. i know theres alot of dtf printers out there. i have no interest in testing out more dtf printers and transfer companies. ive tried a few others and just couldnt lay the transfer down correctly. not the companies fault it was 100% user error. so i just stick with what works for me. bigger is better but if i cant lay'em down, it wont do me any good hahahaaa
Theres alot of transfer companies out there. ive never heard of the company you mentioned. but if they work for you, thats good. cuz at the end of the day thats all that matters is what works best for us and our businesses
pricing is based on material cost and my labor. same goes for you. you charge for the blanks, transfers and your labor. our labor cost will be different but our materials will cost the same. get me? if i tell you what i charge for my labor, you'll base your pricing off of me. you have to base your pricing off what your value is worth to you. get me?
Is there a difference between a Wearable transfer sheet and a Headwear transfer sheet? Can I put 48 logos on a Gang Sheet and use them on hats? If there is no difference, why does the Supacolor Headwear order form ask me if it's going over a stitch or a 5 seam hat (no stitch)?
no. headwear and wearable have different application settings based on the garment you are pressing on. when you buy transfers, buy them based on the material you plan to press it on and what its intended use will be for best results. for example, headwear transfers are thicker in feel and have a different adhesive and coating on the back made the mend the seam on a 6 panel hat. wearable transfers are lighter in feel made to be lighter and more flexible on a t shirt or hoodie. headwear applies at a different temp and duration than wearable.
@@BigBrandoh thanks for the reply. So how do we convince Supacolor to make headwear gang sheets? 😂 I mean, with my artwork, I can fit two logos in the headwear 4.7 x 2.8 template. Is that frowned upon? Also, we need a glow in the dark ink spot color. 👍
Thanks for the video tho, but I have a quick question. Why not put like 2-3 full designs for a customer on one gangsheet, which would lower the final quantity. Let's say, you put 2 designs on one sheet = 24 sheets( for mentioned 48shirts) and i think with size like this sheet, you wouldve been left with a little bit more extra space for maximizing usage of the sheet. Didn't toggle the quantity and price check yet, just an idea. Will def use these in the near future. Keep it up!
i dont explain the details about my process with the client. I dont talk about gang sheets with them. you dont habe to explain how the sausage is made. but lets say i did and i gang up 4 of the taco designs on that one sheet. i only have to order 12 sheets to make 48 shirts. lets say it costs $150 for those 12 sheets. now i charge the client $150 for 48 shirts. your price with that client is now locked in for $150 for 48 shirts front and and back printing. but what if on their next run they bring you a bigger design front and back and you cant gang up 4 up on the sheet. so it will now cost more than $150. they're bringing you a job expecting the same price. $150 for 48 shirts. now you have to explain to them the price is different cuz of the size and you cant gang up that design. potentially losing that business cuz ypu are now changing the price on them. remember they will be telling their friends and family they paid $150 for 48 shirts. you are setting your price with that client at that. I like to not have to explain myself by setting my prices early for front and back multi color prints by not telling the client about the ins and outs of my business. cuz i know my value and i also know what my margins are. the customer doesnt meed to know those details they just want their shirts printed. get me?
@@BigBrandoh I think they were referring to doing the 12 sheets for $150 but still charging the customer the $500 and keeping the profit instead of trying to make other T-shirts that still have to be sold in this case it would already be money in your pocket 🤷♂️😎
personally find more value in selling shirts. So 50 free transfers for me is more profitable to me. selling 50 shirts at $20. is better than a couple hundred.
Thank for the great knowledge. Any way you can do a video showing how you set you the gang sheet in illustrator? I am trying to get some gang sheets but not a good illustrator user. Thanks
i arrange it in photoshop but i think supacolor just posted a video on their instagram on how to use their templates to arrange your designs on the sheet. maybe that will help
With these sheets, can the design have as much color as you want without being charged more? Like a 4 color design sheet would still be the same price as a 2 color design sheet?
Hey Big Brandon, what do you think for picture transfers, like the 2 pac image you have on the hoodie, can you get a black and white image or color image in a transfer sheet do you think that it’s wise. Cause I don’t think the iron on ones you get at Walmart work to well.
pricing is subjective to what you value your labor at. how long does it take you press a case of t shirts? how much do you pay for that case and how much do you pay for the transfers? all of these things will factor in your print cost. know your value and know your worth. your labor will be different from my labor or the next persons.
Hi Big Brandoh...quick question...if time wasn't an issue...which transfer sticker do you personally prefer (Transfer Express or Supacolor)?? Also, in your opinion, which companies transfer is most like an old school screen printing quality? Last question...on your own shirts do you tear out the tag/label & transfer/press your own business logo on the size tag...or do you just leave the original size tag (Alstyle, NextLevel...)?? Any advice is appreciated :)
yes and no. i dont explain to my clients my process or details of my business. like gang sheets and price breaks. my interaction with my clients are only about what they want and need. lets say i tell them 16 gang sheets would cost $150 for front and back multicolor prints. what that does is set the price with that client at $150 so now if they bring me a bigger design front and back and i cant gang up 3-4 on a sheet. theyre coming back for $150 like their first run. now you can explain why the price is different and potentially lose the customer or they say cool and pay the new price. but i like to eliminate that whole convo from the beginning by setting my price early and delivering a quality product that keeps them coming back no matter the price. remember, there is always somebody out there willing to do what you do for way cheaper. you gona keep lowering your price to keep the work or are you confident in your work and stand by your values?
why don't u try TKO there made the same way the gang sheets are bigger and cheaper I know u don't make money off TKO like supacolor but bigger better cheaper is nice also
i tried their samples. i didnt like the way it washed. i 100% know it was user error and not the transfer. i just couldnt get it to lay down correctly. same goes for alot of transfer companies, i dont have much success with laying them down correctly. not the transfer companies fault or the transfer itself. if tko works good for you, cool. just didnt work good for me
I tried transfer express long time ago for a lil project and it sucks, it didn't survive the first wash, I am going to try the sample that supercolor sent me and check if is good enough for future projects.
