I’m getting ready to buy my first press , huge thanks for the tip on the pull out table slide , something I would have never thought of
Great concise video
Honestly I learned so much from you on this one. You gave me such a head start on how to shop for a press. Thank you so much
I don't know how many times I've rewatched this video. However, each time that I do, I pick up a new Tourinofique' tip that you dropped on us. Most appropriate you, B! I am upgrading from a 15" x 15" swing away press. I bought it from U.S. Cutter and it was poorly made. I worked with it for a bit, but the non-consistent heat platten temperature and its unstable tension knob, have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Because of it, I will NEVER buy from U.S. Cutter ever again. They even tried to make excuses of WHY the temperature reading was not accurate. 😮
So now I'm considering ONLY to buy my goods from one of the BIG 5 heat press manufacturers. I'm getting 2 brand new heat presses this week. Business is booming!!!
Gratzi, bro!
LOVE your content! Question: can you you DE-activate the beeping from either machine?
appreciate you my man. Always honest and up front. Keep being you.
Thanks for showing me the difference between both I'm on heat press Nation now 💪🏾🤞🏾
If you had to choose between one or the other, which would you choose?
I had an HPN press, but I sold it. It was good, but I also hear good things about the Ricoma.
Thanks.
Big homie I just wanted to say thank you for always dropping knowledge. I haven’t dropped my brand yet but you’ve helped get me too where I am which is ready to release my brand to the world!
Good luck!
Sup big dog, thanks for all the info. I've been out of the game for amin and looking to get back into my clothing brand. Your videos saved me a lot of time and money homie.
thats right!!! never too late to jump back in. get that money
Thank you for the video. You helped me with my decision on what kind of heat press to buy.🙂
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Greatly appreciated!!
Your a great presenter. I learned quite a bit from you today.
Love all your content. Love the mindful spoken words. Learned a lot from your content TYSM for what you do
Why do you use the 15x15 and not the 16x20 or 16x24? What are some pros and cons to using the smaller / larger sizes ?
press size depends on your design size. if my designs arent bigger than 15" than the 16x20 is not needed. 90% of my designs never go bigger than 15". bigger press allows you to press bigger designs thats all.
@@BigBrandohI wanna design big apparel for bigger guys. I’m 6”7 450lbs and I hate buying shirts with smaller designs that look nice on a XL. Would you suggest the bigger one? Or is 15 x 15 big enough?
@@EatTheAskI’ve been searching everywhere for this exact answer. I don’t know what size I need for 3x, 4x shirts
Thank god! I’ve finally found a channel that I can relate with. Love your content. Can I come to the shop to watch?
Your review was on point. Great review of the differences and how to set it up. THANK YOU. 💸
I just subscribed. I’m interested in starting this business. Heard your intro and the music and you already got me hooked.
haha thats right. thanks for rockin with me and my channel. if your just gettin started. check out my playlists. "back to basics" lays out everything you need to know about starting any kind of t shirt business from home. "Starting from scratch" goes over starting a clothing brand and "printing money" talks about how to market your shirts for profit.
What about surepressure? Im looking at getting a 16x20 and the only one with surepressure is $100 more, plus it does not have the slide out drawer. Is surpressure worth the extra $100 and not having the slide out?
You are an absolute wealth of knowledge and I appreciate you! Loved and subbed. All notifications are on!!
Thank you!!
Dope video man! Thanks for sharing. I have been looking into getting a heat press.
Really appreciate you bro. Luv from Cincinnati 🤝🏼
Subscribed bro. Thanks for all the information. Im looking start up my t-shirt hustle.
Hi- Thanks for such a detailed video and all the great tips. I just wanted to clarify whether you are supposed repress the front design? I noticed you only rp the back only? TIA
There's Gold nuggets in every video!
Great video. I got the STAHLS' Hotronix 16x20 last year. Would you consider adding chapters to your future videos? That will help greatly to skip to specific parts.
How is it going ?
I purchase the HPN 15*15 but lowkey wish i got that auto open 😅 still cool tho and happy w it
What does HPN mean? I’m new don’t know term.
Thanks for vids. Which heat press would you use for pressing small to large patches on hoodies and beanies, some athletic material also?
Brandoh, have you talked about mock-ups before? I went through a lot of your videos and I don't think I ever remembered you talking about them.
i got mock ups in the description box for you. but i rarely talk about'em cuz i use a generic one for my site. blank shirt on a grey background. i dont use model mock ups
@@BigBrandoh I don't see anything in the description box for this video. Is it added to this video?
Hi i am a new subscriber, great video! Question: What heat press heats up the fastest? Ricoma or HPN?
Ricoma heats up the fastest but HPN is ready to press quicker. remember heating up and ready to press are two different things. example: both presses set at 320 degrees. Both presses will go over 320 when you first turn it on. it doesnt just go to 320 and stops. it'll go to 340-360 yo make sure the whole heating platen is hot then tapers down to its target heat of 320. so Ricoma will beep first meaning its reached 320 but it'll stay around 340-350 for a while till it comes down to 320. HPN will get to 320 slower but will be ready to use a lot faster than ricoma. it'll go to 340 and come down to 320 quicker. hope this makes sense.
Brandoh, do you know on Ricoma you can press the big temperature number and just type the desired number instead of pressing those small arrows? Makes it easier for me.
dammmmm i didnt know that. good tip! thanks for sharing
Great information. Thanks!
Great video bro. Have you used Transfer Express or do you 100% just use the Supacolor joints? Too many choices out there now 😵💫
yes i use transfer express too. check the links in the description box for all the transfer companies i use and all the equipment i use.
Thank you ✌️🤟🤙
@BigBrandoh Thank You for the quick response 🙏
I noticed on the 2nd press at the end of the video when you pressed the back transfer and took it off, there's a big white blob on your bottom pad. Is that from the front transfer staining the pad as you apply the back transfer? Would it be a good idea to put down teflon then the shirt on top of that to avoid, or is it never an issue? Just seems like that white would press into shirts and leave residue marks.
you can put down teflon if you wanted too. i choose not too because that makes the pressing surface slippery. i like my shirts to stay in one place when pressing or laying transfers down. the base cover provides just enough friction to hold the shirt in place but also makes it easy to load and unload shirts on the bottom platen. that white mark is from testing transfers from multiple companies. some companies use inks that bleed over under heat. i like to not use those types of transfers or companies. but you never know how these transfers react unless you test them out first. thats why i choose to use the companies i use now because they pass all the tests i throw at them and provide the quality and durability i believe in.
Thank you for your information! Very helpful. Can you advise where I could get my heat presses serviced. I'm located in Los Angeles area. Thanks!!
great tips! thanks!
Do they make bigger presses for big boy shirts? Sometimes a normal print looks funny on a 3XL or 4XL SHIRT?
i press 5x and 7x shirts on my 15x15 press. none of my designs ever go wider than 15". but they do make huge presses 30"x40" or 55"x 55" etc... thats how they do the big over all print stuff. if you got a homie that wears a big size. take a ruler or tape measure and measure the center of his chest, go nipple to nipple. its usually within 14" or so. i wear a XXL and nipple to nipple on me is 11" design wider than that might land in the armpits.
I have the ricoma I tried to press on 100% cotton. Temp was 325 for 7 seconds. The shirt discolored and didn't return. I used Teflon protection. Any advice? Love your. Channel. Thank you
Great Video and I appreciate the delivery of information! I just bought my first heat press and things you mentioned I *never thought about! The slide-out feature sounds clutch. I also believe it’d be easier lining designs up if the base slides out. Something for me to think about the next go round. Thanks!
#RobbArmstrong
Do you use the shirt splitter feature on the HPN Sig?
What size are your transfers? 15”? I usually do the standard 11-12” max, but that looks good and I like how it fits the size of the platen. It helps to get it straight.
Also, what about Hotronix presses? I’m trying to figure out if I need to spend all that money or are the cheaper ones just as good?
What’s up @brandoh
What size heat press would you prefer for normal sizes small to 3x tshirts and also to do kids and other cool things we can use
The best overall to do most things
Your input would be greatly appreciated my friend
15x15 is a good all around press. remember press size only affects design size. if your designs stay under 15" your good with 15x15
Thanks big brandoh appreciate it
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
What printer and ink you use?
Great video thank you
Appreciate your work Brandoh! Almost looks like a Wu-Tang Clan frame on the wall behind you?
Do you have any recommendation for a pullout heatpress from amazon?
no sorry i dont. ive never had good luck with amazon presses.
Very helpful..Thanks!!!!
For starting a clothing brand is it more cost effective to buy your own heat press v. Getting your products printing elsewhere?
Maybe it's just me. But it looks like the ricomas plates are bigger. I know they're both 15 by 15. I mite be tripping. But great vid brandoh. I'm thinking bout if I should go bigger with my next press or just stick with 15 by 15
Question. In reference to equipment, what would you recommend for an individual that’s just getting started? Personally, I’m looking to purchase a MacBook Air 15’’, Ricoma Auto Open 16x20 flat heat press and Ricoma auto open cap heat press. What else am I missing?
How much is the second heat press machine and where can I buy it?
all the info on the presses are in the description box. check it out for prices and more info
Does this works for hoodies too!
What company has good transfers?
Any suggestions about a swing away heat press 15x15
yup. HPN Signature Pro swing away is solid. check the HPN link in the description
Hi. How long have you had the Ricoma and the Heat Press Nation?
Thank you~
Hi, what is the purpose of the teflon sheets?
Why did it not take 15 sec to do the back piece? And where do I get those prints from?
Most of the links weren't working for me. The affiliate links brought me to your page, but when I tried to click the shirt press, it brought me to a mug press instead. I can't tell which specific models you use in this video. What would you recommend in the $200-$500 range?
Question. Just bought the signature from HPN. It came bolted to a bottom wood platform. Am I suppose to remove that?
yes the wood is just for shipping
Why did you press twice on the back of short and not on the front?
Thank you!!
What should the font size of the typography should be? 9 point? 12 point?
whatever size looks good to you. theres no set size for anything. i go based on what looks good to me. every design is different.
@@BigBrandoh what a good or normal typography font size of the letters should be so people can read it?
What kind of t shirt you using ? Where can i buy ?
Where do you get your designs? Do you Makin em yourself if so what do you need for it
yes make them myself. you need a design software like photoshop or illustrator. thats what i use. i got videos on my channel showing the process
It is sad that here in the UK there are not as many heat press options as in the USA and if one decides to buy from the USA the customs price is double that of the heat press. Y.Y
what printer are you using with this heat press?
i dont own a printer. i let the real print shops with real printers, make my transfers. i also only use Screen Printed transfers. best quality, best consistency and best durability. check the links in my description box for the companies i order from.
Do you get press marks?
SO CAN YOU DO 2X 3X 1X SHIRTS WITH YOUR HEAT PRESS OR WILL I HAVE TO GET A 16X20 PRESS ALSO IF I AM DOING CHILDRENS CLOTHING CAN I STILL USE THE 15X15 OR WILL I NEED TO GET A SMALLER MACHINE
size of press does not limit you to size of shirt. size of press only affects size of design. NOT shirt size. i can press all size offerings on my 15x15 because most of my designs arent bigger than 15 inches.
@@BigBrandoh One more question please! So a 15x15 print would fit on a 2x ? Without looking too small? I’m trying to figure out a few things before buying one. I do want to do large sizes as well and so I’m wondering if the bigger the size, would the print have to go bigger as well
i have a lot of videos on my channel about design sizes. you should check them out before buying the press. use the youtube search bar and type in "big brandoh design size" all the vids will pop up that your lookin for.
watching my playlist "back to basics" will help you out too. lots of useful info about gettin started on there.
@@BigBrandoh Thank you so much for your help.
Do watts matter on machine
Quick question....do you copyright or Trademark any of your designs...??
Where do u get your dtf prints from ?
i dont use dtf transfers. i use Screen Printed transfers. the links to the transfers i use is in the description box.
Is there anyway to silent 🔇 the beeping?
Have you ever tried the TRANSPRO PLUS heat press? Seems like they have some killer features for the price and great threadability, so just curious!
ive never tried a transpro press. i cant say good or bad things about it. BUT, i would recommend buying your press from a company that backs their press up. that way if something goes bad, you can contact them and work it out
@@BigBrandoh appreciate it! They do lifetime on the heating platen, and a year on the press itself which I like…Also interchangeable platens, seems like a solid package, will probably give it a shot. Thank you!
Hey are you using the 15 x 15 or the 16 x 20?
i got my answer from the chat support at heatpress nation they said your kit you use both!
Cko heart press
Brotha Brandoh i got a K20S heat press a cool lil laptop but can you give me advice what would be a solid set up to add to the heat press and laptop to start pressung shirts??? Im on a budget as well
if your on a budget, buy some blank shirts and order some transfers and start creating. biggest piece to the puzzle is the press. you already got that.
@@BigBrandoh alright thank you for the pointer🤙
Question? On the 2nd demo, why did you heat press the back design again after the hot peel but not the front design? Is there a specific reason?
Also, thanks for your knowledge !!
supacolor instructions say to press again after you pull the backing off. not sure what it does but supacolor recommends to do it so i do it
Great vid but maybe consider not waving your hands around so much. Thanks. Atb.
He looks like Jose but he is ho che
Clearly you are bought and paid by Ricoma...the best embroidery machine is a ZSK or Tajima or Barudan and a REAL heat press is a GeoKnight or Insta or Hix...not a rebranded Amazon heat press. There is a reason why former customers refer to it as a Shitoma. This isn't even an honest review.
haha you must be new here hahaa cuz nobody pays me to make videos. so clearly your just assuming things. BUT, by your logic, if i drive a Toyota Tacoma, if i say this is the best truck, you assume that Toyota pays me? also somebody that drives a Chevy will disagree with my statement and say Chevy makes the best trucks. so by you saying Tajima and Barudan or GeoKnight is the best, are you getting paid by them to write this comment??? hahahaaa BUT i own a geoknight if you say theyre the best why did my press break 4 times? and my HPN has no issues? how is the best this faulty? i also own a hotronix that broke 3 times and my Ricoma and HPN have had no issues. hahahaaa everybody uses what works for them, there is NO best, thats a personal opinion based on the owner/operator. hahahaa this isnt even a honest comment. 😂😂😂
worst advice to buy in your budget, if you have a low budget you will buy a low quality press which is trash and you will sell nothiing with it!!!
hahaa why would you sell nothing? does the heat press make the designs for you? are people buying the shirt for the press that is used or for the design on the shirt? hahahaaa worst advice is to buy outside of your budget and put yourself into debt in hopes you will sell enough tshirts to pay it off hahahahaaaaa
Great video, thank you, do you have any advice on sourcing blank high quality T-shirts
