Hi , swa your video on xav 3250....Have one installed...my problem his when I connect the USB from phone the bluetooth automatically caonnects...Im told this is not healthy for stereo to have USB and bluetooth simultaneously...have turned EVERYTHING OFF regartding bluetooth and have talked to Tmobile extensively...the bluetooth still connects...does it hurt stereo? Can I turn it off? Thanks
I got this unit so I could use the USB connection in my center armrest for my USB music stick is this possible? Cause I was told my the car technician this was possible at best buy.

Does the phone need to be plugged in for Apple car play to work? How is it done since it plugs in to the back of the stereo?
@@dvera9726 the jack to connect to the phone is on the back of the radio; however, Best Buy added a USB cord from the back of the radio to the bottom of the dash board, so I simply connect my phone cord to that and I’m in business. 😎. You can also use Bluetooth, although it won’t be Apple play.
Awesome video, eased my worries about being able to try the product for myself. I was worried I would not like the interface after having it shipped to me.

You feed that wire through the glove box, then you plug in your phone in the glove box.

I found Waze was always laggy compared to Apple Maps

How would you connect the subwoofer? I have mine connected to the rear subwoofer outputs but it doesn't hit hard at all

@@sreyes732 Yes, i bought a Y rca adapter 1 male 2 female. Plugged in the male to the top subwoofer output and connected my amp rca's to the female outputs on the adapter.

@@justinaguilar8551 It sounds good. But coming from pioneer stereo's, i like the pioneers better. I recommend getting one that has more EQ settings, these sonys have pretty much the basic settings nothing to fancy. Theyre nice if you like plain and simple.

If I change my stereo head unit for a touchscreen stereo it's a Honda civic type R GT FN2 will I lose the time on the cars display screen as you have to change the time with the buttons on the factory unit can I wire a touchscreen stereo to the wiring from dash to new stereo or will it be lost ? You must get this problem with a lot of cars as most clocks are controlled by the head unit to adjust time date and time readout can it be possible to get or keep the time on dash

It will do all of that on bluetooth right? No need to plug it in? (Waze, phone book, spotify, etc)
You can play music, transfer your contacts and call people via Bluetooth. For CarPlay (Google Maps, Waze and Spotify), you need to plug in your iPhone.

I just ordered this unit. Is there a bracket to be used for the USB plug so it isn't just hanging out from under the dash or out of a glovebox? Is there a way to neatly install it?
I seen people get a usb extender, tuck the wire somewhere from the center of your car to the center console. Drill a tiny whole where the center console is and pull the cable. Now the cable is hiding inside your center console instead of a random wire poking out

Nice and explanatory video. Was checking this radio and comparing it with the xav-ax3005DB. Does the XA3250 come without a DAB+ antenna? If I'm correct the xav-ax3005DB does come with. Are there more differences between the 2 ?

@@stefanlazarevic4087 In the end I bought a 3250 too (2nd hand) and I LOVE it. It's faster than the radio I had before, easier in use, sounds better and the signal for DAB is better processed. The only thing that I like less, is that the gap between the 2-DIN frame and the radio is pretty big.

I also bought a wifi router that attaches to the USB cable and that connects to the phone without being connected to the cable .. very cool thing

Developer mode on android auto on your phone and you can allow custom apps look it up on the internet

i have this radio and my friends android phone auto connects just fine. i can connect my iphone via bluetooth and play any of my audio from my phone whether it’s pandora apple music etc and in my iphone general settings carplay recognizes the radio as my car and the Radio screen original CarPlay just fine Playboi GPS radio three I couldn’t get it to show my GPS like it did the first ever only connect my audio and play that so it’s connected but it’s not playing my GPS
You have to use the charging cable from your phone plugged in to the usb port of the stereo
Hi, the rear camera starts automatic or you have to push the Button on radio

Is it possible to use Apple CarPlay without cable? I dont want to plug in and out 1000 times the iPhone
When I completed installation of this in a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, when I turn the car off, the screen remained on or at least it looked like the radio was still on. Is this normal or am I missing something? I have connected all the appropriate cables to the harness everything is connected correctly. The Jetta does have an accessory position. I do see the warning in the installation instructions that stated that do not install in the car without an accessory setting. This is OK in the Jetta. But like I said, the radio seems to still be on, even after shutting the car off.
You need a Cambus decoder had the same problem 😅
Did not have this problem in my 2010 A3 same chassis but I guess our speakers and amp situation are completely different

Thanks for the very informative video! Very disappointed that Android Audio requires that I physically plug my phone into the back of the unit. That's definitely not going to work for me. Oh well.
I thought you plugged the phone into the USB cord he showed towards the end. It can go pretty much wherever. It's the USB cord that's connected to the back. Not your phone charger cord. Am I wrong?
@@Panazoniac It's a cord that has to string down behind the dash area and onto the floor. Other units have the plug conveniently located on the front of the unit.

Very mean of Sony not to provide a DAB antenna given most vehicles this would be fitted to do not have DAB as standard.

Why no CD?!?! Just got a range rover evoque 2019 and the ONLY bad things the stereo. No CD Player and the only volume controls on the bloody steering wheel. I have a USB with loads of good music on but every time the cars started it takes ages for the USB to even show up and auto plays annoying radio.
A word of warning - the sound and features on this unit are great... But the screen is dogshit. Unless you're mounting this down low where it's shady, you're fucked. The screen is matt, so if the faintest bit of sunlight hits it, the screen completely washes out. Not the best when you're using it as a sat nav. The viewing angle is a bit shit too. And worst of all, no meaningful brightness setting to counteract any of this. Really disappointing because this is a great unit otherwise. I wouldn't recommend it unless you can find it sub £300.
I JUST had this installed yesterday and took it for a drive today and couldn't see the display to save my life. It's fucking horrible. I'm hoping I can return it / have something else installed...
@@phewd I was seriously thinking about returning it back I had to maul the cage a little bit to try and get it to fit. Didn't even end up using it in the end. Wouldn't be so bad if they updated the firmware to have more brightness settings but there's fat chance of that ever happening. Really is a major let down having a screen you can only see at night

I think you skip way too fast over the settings. How about visual? Can you change the home screen, can you change the white button illumination, so you can match it to the color of your car's interior lighting, just to name a few things you should cover.
Not impressed I built my Excelon system for less than the sticker on this .. for double dins I recommend an android unit with a launcher app to set your interface up. For 100$ you can outperform this
Imagine trying to find the volume button at 3am doing 90 down the moterway. Not gonna happen
If I'm gonna be doing 90 on the regular I'd add steering wheel controls.
