Picked one up even though my middle aged eyes have no chance of seeing that tiny screen 😂😂
Hi, another great video and I have some info on a device from 4 years back that I owned. It was an ANBERNIC RS-97 Plus V2, transparent case that looked almost the same and only cost me £29 from Droix uk. All the usual low-end emulators played perfectly and ps1 was the best it could run, but not great.
Thanks, Cheers to you.
Seems like a neat little system, nice to see hardware devs keep to limits of the systems they expect to run. Remember when everything was widescreen despite running psp poorly?
4.5/5 inch 4:3 and can run ps2/game cube/3ds is my dream handheld
Nice little device. I like the vertical arcade mode.
Yeah me too
I find the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro to be the best pocketable retro handheld. Since it can handle ps2/gc.
I liked this rg28xx but I'm getting old and it makes my hands cramp after a long session
I’ll have to look into that, I’ve been wanting handheld PS2 emulation for a long time, but a glance at the dimensions (184.8mm x 82.6mm) and weight (261g) suggests it’s not really comfortably pocketable.
@@diebesgrabI usually pocket it with my phone. So I guess ymmv
Ah, yeah I would agree that the size isn't for all.
I have a Vita for upto Gen 4 emulation. I am looking for an handheld emulation device for Saturn and 6th Generation emulation (model 3 emulation would be super as well) is the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro the best solution ?
@@diebesgrab As far as I know, Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is the smallest handheld that can emulate PS2 well.
Anything smaller has poor PS2 emulation.
I like the vertical mode
Looking Good. Please Test Rg35xxsp Next. Thank You
Thag may be coming next week 😁
Glad to see some device oriented toward older systems. But I would like something bigger, like 5".
Looks for trimui smart pro
I did a review of a larger device last week but it wasn't very good.
Next week I may have something coming up that suits your needs.
For PS1, the usual benchmarks are Tekken 3 & Bloody Roar 2.
For Dreamcast, Naomi & Atomiswave, Dolphin Blue tends to run choppy on some devices.
PS: The Warning reads a severe penalties to violators and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. ATLUS said so!😱
Oh no! I'd better watch out 😅
Violator and subject to severe penalties and will be prosecutedt to the full extent of the jam.

Looks pretty good, however:
1) Sound quality/speakers are horrifying. It's like the Tin-Man of Oz is trying to commit suicide by tearing its own throat.
2) The concept behind these systems is wonderful in its own right. Why support 32bit systems when it doesn't even have controls to actually play the games? Only Saturn would make sense, and you have both Yaba Sanshiro 2 and MD.Emu (which now uses Mednafen's Saturn core).
I bought the RG SP rather than this one 'cause clamshell lad! I refuse to use Anbernic's silly model names so I'm calling this one the RG Critter.
Maybe Anbernic think they're car manufacturer 🤔
I recently saw this in Chinatown NYC the other day Mark. I really like it and the price wasn't bad at all to purchase. After seeing your video, I'm really interested it it for sure. 8^)
Anthony..
I love it but I'm having trouble setting aspect ratio for SNES and the such. The default has the screen filled. I'd like 4:3! How do I do that in RA? Settings, video does nothing!
The screen on this device is 4:3. I'm not sure how you can change it.
I think you can not transfer files through that usb C port, I think those ports are only to connect controllers and charge the device, at least you can not in the model I have RG35XXH, maybe they have updated it, mark have you tried to do it?
I didn't try any transfers but my PC did know the RG28XX was connected. I'll check with the next Anbernic device I'll be reviewing next week.
I'll just ask here in case anybody knows (I couldn't find info about this)... I discovered Cannonball through this video, but I can't get the PC version to give me that nice 120 fps option.
From what I'm seeing this seems to be available on the Cannonball Retroarch core, but I'm not a big fan of Retroarch and his bloated, overstuffed menus, so I'd like to avoid the hassle if possible, does anyone know how to achieve this with the windows standalone version?
I'm not sure but is it possible the PC version detects what the PC (or display) is capable of then displays the compatible options?
@@RetroCore Hm, maybe, I have a 165 Hz display, though. Perhaps the game doesn't detect it properly for whatever reason (just tried setting it at just 120 Hz, but no dice). Thanks for making me discover this anyway! It runs like a dream at 60 fps already! (Maybe I'll bite the bullet and try the RetroArch version one of these days)
Does it have raiden 1&2 and raiden project on it?
No but it's easily added.
No 3.5mm jack?
Also I really wish some of these had a good method for importing / exporting sram and other memory card data.
@@johnsimon8457 it has one.
Transparent shells really makes the device look cheap ang easy to break.
