Not a single mix engineer ever would recommend most of what you did here. Can’t really tell people not to master just because it’s something you don’t have an understanding of. The art of mixing is finding out how to get your sounds to pop even at low levels. It’s getting that perceived loud sound and hard hitting without smashing everything red. Then use the mastering to bring the volume up (amongst other things). Just smashing everything as hard as you can through a clipper ain’t it 😂

@@prodllb why u so mean dude? Like mixing the beat with hard clipping on master bus? This is seriously bullshit mate :D Your mix should have as much headroom for mastering and recording as u can. Best at least -3dB headroom...

I wasn't a fan of how he was doing things, but I can see some of the pros here. Yeah, it's rough. However, since he mixes everything in busses, when he sends stems the unmixed track outs are sent as well as the busses. You get the stereotypical soft clipper effect, a master track out that bumps, and if they buy the stems, the engineer has the ability to work on it without the stems clipping. Compared to how I've seen other producers on RUclips just thrash the master soft clipper, this is much better for the stems.

I upload my beats to RUclips, TikTok & Beatstars hella clipped like this. However, I always make a second mix that peaks between -3 and -6dbs because most of my artists buy .mp3 or .wav leases (not trackouts) and need to be able to fit their vocals in
Imo if you're just going for placements, you can email your beats out like this. The punch from the clipper is something artists enjoy and it might make them more likely to reach out to you for stems & placement.

YES YOU DONT NEED TO MASTER as a concept, but you can have a great mix hitting -6db and then throw a Pro L in punchy settings and get a loud "master".
