    Mine just pushes the pipe out the back before its made a flare! And yes ive bollocked it up with adjustable too.

      @daddylonglegs2718 6 месяцев назад

      U doing something wrong then. When you use the adjustable do you make sure you adjust evenly on both sides as you lock the line . I know if you tighten unevenly it will cause you issues

      Yup mine was the same piece of shit. But I took a file and grinded both mating surfaces maybe half a mill and now the bastard stays still

      No they are often garbage- I just had one work twice then loose grip. Drove directly to Eastwood and picked up their bench flare tool…yes it’s expensive but it works flawlessly

      For you guys who are like myself and not pissing away good money on snapon and other over priced tools, I have an idea that may help with the line slipping out of the tool . Try finding something really thin like for example, aluminum foil that you can cut easily into small pieces to wrap the end of your tubing in to achieve the grip you need . It's agrivating as hell, but it will take your tool to a whole different playing field, I promise.

    I'm a 60 year OLD gimp cripple who has made many double flare brake lines over my years of saving many old vehicles from crushers and have never missed a beat until I woke up one day and realized that life has passed me by . I've been watching RUclips videos on doing this for off and on 3 damn days . Most fellas are obviously only trying to be some sort of glorified Star or some shit, mostly flapping jaws and smiling for the birdy. This EXCELLENT VIDEO just pops up out of the clear blue yonder ! Without saying one single word this guy just taught me exactly what I am doing wrong 😂 after all the hours I have wasted the last few days, I believe i can now walk out the back door and get all new brake lines on the two 9th gen Ford trucks I'm trying to get street ready for winter. I hope to find a way to follow this dude after I make this post because I absolutely dig his style of video importance! Thank you sir !

    A few drops of oil makes a really good flare

    I’m glad I’m not the only one struggling with this. I have to redo the flare 3 or 4 times until I get a good one

      There's more details to it than what this video shows to make realy good inverted flares. Just demonstrates with no real explaining instructions. Once you learn the correct technique the inverted flare will come out flawless.

    😮‍💨shhhiiiiit! That's why?!? I didn't know I needed to run the damn cone down in like a standard flare after. Fml I've wasted sooo much time redoing it over and over

    Grabbed one of these today to have one in my work truck. Damn thing kept pushing the tube out. I tried everything but still wouldn’t give me a good flare. The damn handheld one we have at the shop is ancient and works like a charm every time!

      This was with the copper nickel brake line... which is much easier to work with than steel.

    Even better if you read the instructions. You left out two steps! Beveling the tube and gauging the tube stick out length.

    Just a heads up if you tighten down evenly on the brake line while getting ready to flare it you will have a much easier time making a line

  • @pitsnipee5
    @pitsnipee5 Год назад +1

    Please correct me if I'm wrong, but you only double flare steel lines and single flare stainless lines. Its been about 20+ years since i learned brake lines in HS so I don't quite remember.

      Double flair is the strongest it’s usually what’s used on SAE standard cars. Euro cars usually use a DIN standard bubble. Both work fine but double flairs are a lot easier in my opinion.
