Really hope you get things worked out. At least the season is just starting, so you have time.
@SKLIFEstyle texas. I've heard from a few people close to me that as long as the boat is registered I should be ok. But I'm uncertain this is my first boat
Hey man I’m 16 and I just got my first boat and I was wondering if you’d maybe wanna sell that motor because I don’t have a card to buy thing off of Amazon and all I have is cash
Hey I can appreciate the offer but I actually sold the boat and motor several weeks back. I got this from Walmart. If you buy a giftcard I am sure you can order it through their website. I got the short shaft version to work better with the inflatable's transom and depth. They had a decent selection to choose from.
I got up to about 15 mph, and it was fine. Maybe a two second adjustment when I got to my destination, but it stayed up, in place, and didn't require me to hold on to it or anything. When we got towed to escape a storm quickly over like 25+mph started to be a bit much. The wind kicked up with the storm and waves, too, so that I'm sure that had an effect as well. But other than that, I was impressed. It's worth the purchase, and it breaks down to basically a gym bag when you're all done. I have a video of fully putting it together. I also have a video of the storm to see the conditions. The top isn't up in the video but may help. Thanks for watching. Be sure to Subscribe! **SK**
I would say so. The extra weight may make it slower on take off. I think if you can got for 9HP. That extra couple MPH will make a diff. Unless weight or transporting it makes it a problem. I like this 6HP another 3 to 4 mph would be great. But that was also with being on Lake Champlain. If you are traveling many miles at one go then this should be okay.**SK**

@joshuaswanson3068 Thanks! Yeah kind of where we were with it. Idk if we will bother upgraded the motor as the Catamaran won't get much use, and this does work just fine.
@@SKLIFEstyle I’m fixing to order one on eBay but it doesn’t tell you clearly would this be considered a short shaft motor because my transom measure too to bottom 15 inches so I definitely want a short shaft would you have any idea if this motor is the right fit ?
I believe that was referring to the gas to oil mixture ratio. Most 2stroke bottle will say how many oz to put in per gallon to be at a certain mixture ratio. If they only give the 50:1 just cut it in half. That was just for the break in period if I'm not mistaken. And then in bumps up to standard ratios.
@simonjohansson7284 it worked out great and easy to use. Pretty sturdy and nice to know the parts would be easy to get if needed. I just sold it earlier this season along with the boat but only because it wouldn't have been used much and I didn't want it to sit.
I had one this outboard on a 20' open skiff. It worked well. You should check all the nuts and screws to make sure they are tight. Its a good engine for the money. Not so sure about SK Lifestyle.
How fast did that go on your skiff? I got a 17' 05 Glastron Mx 175. I have had problems twice stuck on the water, and was wanting to get one of these as a back up. I was thinking of getting the 9hp one they sell. The total weight of the boat with a full tank is about 2,400 lbs, so lets say 3,000 with a few people on it... Could you estimate how fast that would go as well?? (First time throttle cable was loose, second time starter bolts broke) Unexpected things keep happening so thats why I want to put one of these as a backup...
I'd have to ask my wife if she remembers. I believe one did come in the mail since it is newer than 1999 or something in our state but I really couldn't recall.

What lake is this?
He said in the Vid its lake Champlain.
How does your canopy handle at 10 mph ?
**SK**
Would this work for a 14/32 Jon boat ?
I would say so. The extra weight may make it slower on take off. I think if you can got for 9HP. That extra couple MPH will make a diff. Unless weight or transporting it makes it a problem. I like this 6HP another 3 to 4 mph would be great. But that was also with being on Lake Champlain. If you are traveling many miles at one go then this should be okay.**SK**
Sorry, poor grammar and typing, must still be waking up. Hope that helped. Be sure to Subscribe! I will be doing more content on this setup, plus there's a chance we get a full size boat this year so lots of videos to come! **SK**
Thanks dude definitely helps I know it might be a bit underpowered but not trying to win any races just a little recreation and fishing around the local rivers and lakes just don’t want to be underpowered where the current is dragging me away for the price of $600 ish new I think I’ll give it a go it seems like good balance of price power and good fuel economy. Subscribed!
@joshuaswanson3068 Thanks! Yeah kind of where we were with it. Idk if we will bother upgraded the motor as the Catamaran won't get much use, and this does work just fine.
@@SKLIFEstyle I’m fixing to order one on eBay but it doesn’t tell you clearly would this be considered a short shaft motor because my transom measure too to bottom 15 inches so I definitely want a short shaft would you have any idea if this motor is the right fit ?
how much did this cost
When I got it, it was like $450 I believe
What do you mean 25 to 1?
I believe that was referring to the gas to oil mixture ratio. Most 2stroke bottle will say how many oz to put in per gallon to be at a certain mixture ratio. If they only give the 50:1 just cut it in half. That was just for the break in period if I'm not mistaken. And then in bumps up to standard ratios.
Has it been good for you?
@simonjohansson7284 it worked out great and easy to use. Pretty sturdy and nice to know the parts would be easy to get if needed. I just sold it earlier this season along with the boat but only because it wouldn't have been used much and I didn't want it to sit.
How kuch does this unit weigh?
Right at the 50lb mark, maybe just slightly under dry. If you carry it I'd suggest a glove since the handle isnt well rounded off**SK**
21kg
I had one this outboard on a 20' open skiff. It worked well. You should check all the nuts and screws to make sure they are tight. Its a good engine for the money. Not so sure about SK Lifestyle.
Yeah, not a bad idea with all the vibration. What's not to be sure about the channel?**SK**
Did you get a title
I'd have to ask my wife if she remembers. I believe one did come in the mail since it is newer than 1999 or something in our state but I really couldn't recall.
You filled a leg with grease? They take leg oil its a gearbox....
Thank you 👍🏼
We use the same lake
cool vid, you were very honest and didn't push anything. I am trying to decide between this or a colman 3.5 haven't made up my mind yet.
Hey boss, I have the 2.6 Coleman, and it a piece of junk I've owned several other outboards, and the 2.6 is by far is the worst one I've ever owned.
If you have any other questions just let me know
@@jonathancordero6239 ty i was looking at those after a few comments here im going to go with the smaller mercury .. reliablity vs price i think is the best tbh
How long has it lasted with minimal problems so far
Well I am getting ready to run it for its 2nd season....didn't have problems running it months after summer last year when I went to winterize it. Fingers crossed it will still run fine now. Haven't had any issues. I would recommend the external tank. 3 Gallons is enough to run days without refilling. And when you do you can do it on land and bring thr tank back.
the choke is just backwards, so on is choke and off is open. Or vice-versa.....lol
Don't worry bout them blisters they good for ya 😂😂
Lol, all the better to grip with I heard 😅
Lol thats right
Anybody have luck finding a mechanic to work on these Chinese Outboards?
👍😎
a lot of water in your boat
We pulled the boat by the floor by accident to get us out a storm and I think it pulled the floor forward and made it easier for water to get under the floor and pool up in back. Just pulled the plugs put and most of it drained.**SK**
If you took your prop off you could have run it in the barrel
@@Captain.Crispy that is a very good call, not like it really has to be on.
Crazy quiet , really, should hear 4 stroke
This is actually the 2 stroke. When it's under way there is some noise but idle speeds, ya she's super quiet. **SK**
The Hankai 4 strokes are mostly air cooled, so they are like push mowers in volume.
That’s normal for small boats
Ole boy needs schooling on 2strokes he don't know
little gas and a pull yeye
my 1987 tohatsu 5hp would run circles around your pos china made dont want to start motor
That was just stupid, why attack this guy? He got a motor that works and cost sufficient like most of us are looking for. Your is the only ASS(**&%&^$ comment here, doesn't that tell you something?
Total crap. I have a1963 Evinrude 5.5hp twin that starts on the first pull every time and sounds so much better than that thing and I bet is a lot more powerful, chinese crap always overstates the power
These are clones of the 5hp Mercury 2-stroke motors.
it is copy of Tohatsu M5B (5HP 102ccm)
Dude u dont know about outboard motors lmao
Lol
This engine going to give you more headache then happines.
I think your boat is sinking, its taking in quite a bit of water
The floor was pulled forward just enough to allow water splashing to run under the floor and build up in the stern. I open the plugs to let it run out, but yes, def. had some learning curves to get through, lol. Thanks for the feedback. Be sure to Subscribe! **SK**
