      I’ve never seen a more convoluted and less transparent pay scheme than at Sysco, and it’s all designed around pinching pennies…The driver should receive no less than 10% gross percentage of the load, it’s that simple. And as you say, top tier medical and dental, paid.

      Warehouse is supposed to do that, I was a driver for a P&D some loads had food, the forklift operator loading trucks is the one responsible for load securement.
      Driver should still check the load but the loader should be responsible for it, a driver doesn't have time for that BS could have taken the loader 2-3 mins to secure it.
      The loads were checked and tagged by terminal management when they were ready to be delivered, that meant BS like this didn't happen.

      Can take a turn as slow as you want. Believe me… I try. Physics don’t work that way though. Especially when product isn’t getting wrapped to the base. Picking light/frail cartons and putting them low and heavy up top.
      Regardless, these pallets gotta be done to the best of a picker’s ability. Knowing that maybe the driver has got to swerve to avoid something. Maybe they have to make a sharp and wide turn onto a tight road that day. It’s simple stuff that can get a badly built and wrapped pallet to give out.

    It depends on the warehouse and the driver obviously along with whatever obstacles that have contributed to a load like that. The number one thing I don't understand is why they can't have a helper. These food companies make a lot of money which is why they are able to pay 100K salary. At the very least you could have a temp worker at minimum wage. These type of jobs you are basically a warehouse worker who also drives. They could help unload, spot, keep a lookout on the driver if he is falling asleep or something like that. I think they should train the helpers to have some knowledge of driving in case the driver has some type of medical emergency. the truth is these companies could do way more but you will always have someone wanting and needing money and willing to do whatever it takes to get it.

    Food I think I need atleast a minimum of a 100k but really thinking closer to 110k plus. I do beverage and my area around detroit is good for pay and less work. I worked for coke and now 7up. Coke was more consistent 300-400 a day in 9 hour average days for myself 7up I've just started a couple weeks ago and already had days over 550 one day was only 8 hrs 1 was 10 and one was 11. Also had a 450 day in 9hr. But at the same time I had a bad route one day that had alot of driving and low cases and only made 310 in 10.5 hours

    • @cmb9059
      @cmb9059 Год назад +2

      Coke was alright left because of being forced home like daily layoffs cause lack of work that went on for like 3 months so it was my time to go. But so far not bad 7up I lift alot less cases. Most days so far the majority of my routes have been dropping pallets like quite of bit of them if not most I had to.handle less then 250 cs. At coke man I would get 600-700 cs and would be lucky to see a drop for 100-200 of them cases. Plus at my facility it was $27 per drop at grocery stores if it was routed on small store route. At 7up I get the full cents per case made $200 at one stop a few already. (Took a hour or less)
