A man's truck! Not like these darned "kerb sniffers" we have today!

We had a truck that blew an engine, and the only engine we could get cheaply was a 40 year old 12V71, that had been sitting for 15 years. It actually said"GENERAL MOTORS DIESEL" on the covers, not "DETROIT DIESEL". They just cleaned it up on the outside, and dropped it in. It ran for 3 years straight before it finally gave up the ghost!!

You should hear a 12v71 when it puts two big holes in the sides of the block! I was pulling in a turn at full throttle when 1 and 2 con rods let go and put fist sized holes through the jacket to open air. Man did she shudder the whole freaking yarder.

Making me think! That one had the little round knob Main,HB,Straw clutches and the air guyline dogs. Separate air dogs on the running lines so you can shotgun.
Hey, you the guy narrating the Trakloader vids?

About 550hp, and anywhere from 90 to about 110 tons of wood. Of course, it depends on the wood, as cedar is quite light, but hemlock is really heavy.
