I know people put bigger scrutiny on places they know, which tends to be the popular massive cities, but I do wish more focus was put on other locations that are in a laughably bad state compared to these places they keep retouching.
The head of MSFS said the main issue is lack of access to data. It's easier to refresh Europe or NA countries because the data, and infrastructure for obtaining said data, is available and easy to do. They also need approval from local authorities in some cases on top.
Why would they spend time on places where only a very very small amount of people fly around vs where a ton fly around and where they have a lot of new data and photogrammetry/3d data
Hope they make a Greece update some time. I mean it is FULL of landmarks. Parthenon and all those ancient ruins, Nafplio, Santorini volcano island, Meteora with the monasteries on the rocks, Olympia, Monevasia, Isthmos canal, Salonica, Rio-Antirio bridge (of the longest or now I thing second longest of its type in the world?) etc.
Fly into London along the river from the west, starting at say.....heathrow. There are sections of the river floating above the terrain, one of them was floating at around 75ft AGL. So yeah, well done Asobo, attention to detail on par with the norm.
Honestly, only came here to check it was! 😅 I've been there, and it's really cool! It burned down, alas, a few years ago, but the museum is still there, and they are rebuilding the crannog. Loch Tau is such a beautiful area, with one of the UKs best cycle routes (NCN7) going right by there, so well worth a visit if you are in that part of Scotland!
Cardiff, Penarth and Barrybados look amazing! Cardiff airport isn't bad either! Caerphiilly Castle is still an office building that has it's own moat alas!
Indeed the controller setup sounds complex to set up at first, but will make life easier for sure. Today I have at least 3 profiles for my sidestick, 3 for the yoke and more than 5 for the quadrant. That's a pain before every flight.
I'm really disappointed that the Liverpool photogrammetry goes so close to the airport but doesn't actually cover it, like that's the main reason why we want photogrammetry is when we land
It might be because they want you to buy 3rd party airport if one exists already for that airport bec they get a cut of the sales. DigitalDesigns EGGP i have and it's really good , detailed and gives you Runcorn bridge and the other gateway bridge plus Fiddler's Ferry power St
@@saintuk70 I realise it was a replica and not an 'original' crannog. I have visited the Crannog Centre in the past. But the 'replica' crannog was destroyed in a fire in 2021, and as far as I'm able to determine has *not* been rebuilt in the same location. Indeed, the Scottish Crannog Centre is now located on the north side of Loch Tay at Dalerb and is no longer on the south shore next to the marina.
@@arkangel1202 we're looking at a game that takes references from fixed points in time. So let's take a step back. Game shows a crannog, good. Fire destroyed the replica, not good. Replica being rebuilt, good. Crannog Centre at a new location, yup ok. Game still shows a crannog.

@4lifeifly It was actually a joke referring to another game OA has made tons of vids on: Elite Dangerous. Every update for that game/sim has been met with certain players crying for ship interiors, even tho the game itself has tons to offer and see otherwise. Quite frankly, I don't see that feature all that feasible for either game unless implemented with an autopilot/copilot or co-op option. Things can get sketchy fast when you leave the seat to grab a coffee or check on your cargo or whatever people feel they are missing out on. In short, an inside joke.
I have a major question!!! When fs2024 comes out, will we delete fs2020??? I am out of space on my hard drive! I can only run one or the other! But I would love to keep all of my add-ons!!! Any ideas on how this transition will take place???😫😫😫
Go watch a video from the Las Vegas Flight Sim Show about the MSFS2024 Marketplace, that will answer most. Basic notion: Most FS2020 add-ons will work in FS2024, IF!!! the add-on developer reviews the add-on and approves it for port to FS2024 (it's not MS in charge of this, other than the usual check that it fulfills certain MSFS requirements, and the marketplace functionality for porting/updating). It is also the 3rd party dev's decision (again, noting it is NOT!!! MS responsibility, because some people are too dense to realize this) to provide the update for free, for a small upgrade fee, or not at all for an upgrade. It does mean that devs that no longer care, are able, etc. to update a FS2020 add-on to 2024, that add-on will likely not get moved and/or updated for FS2024.
I have that problem sometimes. The funny thing is, turning on a VPN instantly boosts it back up to my 150Mbit. I don't know if it's TCP/routing problem from some Microsoft servers.
