I lost CTS to loot council on Tuesday. I have half blues n half epics. My MH is brutality blade and I offhand Mirah's Song. The guy I lost it to had almost every BiS for fury warriors with Deathbringer MH Brutality OH (aka he OFFHANDS my best weapon). I parse very high for my lower lvl of gear and consistently higher than him (Top 3 in our guild). He was awarded the literal 2 dps upgrade, whereas for me it would've been a 23dps upgrade total. Safe to say I'm very butthurt.
I'm next in line on my raid team for CTS when it drops, we do dkp and I have double the next guy, so it's all mine baby! And Grats on yours, great to see a rogue get a weap, rogues don't get weaps in my guild cuz they just don't ever drop.

Got a Vis'Kag on my 2nd or 3rd ony, been 3 months.. haven't seen a 2nd one and we got 3 more rogues waiting. Had 4 bands drop, all the tanks got them first. MT also got the only perds we've seen. We're still farming MC, hope to see more bands drop. In 3.5 Months of farming MC we've only seen 1 brutality blade so I'm still waiting on that too. :-/

dont underestimate the 3 set bonus of bloodfang in pvp. having 5 nightslayer and 3 bloodfang was always the go-to for rogues back in the day.. 5% extra poison application in pvp can be life or death.
Zatar, with Hemo Spec you can already Cheap Shot > Hemo > Hemo without the extra 10 energy that the Nightslayer bonus give you. My favored rotation is Cheap Shot > Hemo > Hemo > Kidney Shot > Hemo > Blind > Stealth > then you can reopen, or Sap, etc. Just thought I'd correct you on not being able to do it without the extra 10 energy. From my experience Darkmoon Card: Maelstrom has outperformed Blackhands Breadth in PvP, and its actually quite equal to it in PvE while raid buffed (if not better unless you crit cap)
yo I’m confused so I saw for dagger u added r10 gear but not for swords . Isn’t R10 Head and Shoulders with Boots of shadow flame rest BF better than 8/8 I’ve simmed n also got told it’s better
Hey Zatar, thank you for the quality content! I got one doubt for the dagger set, I’m not sure how much of AP, 1% hit chance should be equivalent to (and thus the gears are truely bis). Especially after reaching the soft cap. This is particularly concerning, as dagger rogue’s dps largely depends on the crit of backstabs, which will not receive any damage increase with hit chance after 6% hit + 310 weapon skill.

In a vaccum, the specs "swap" top DPS in each raid tier. Daggers MC, Swords BWL, Daggers AQ, Swords Naxx. In reality, both specs are so close in DPS that it will come down to the player's execution. Most important is to determine which playstyle you prefer and stick with that.
Been swords for months in classic - and I agree with James B. here. The good thing about daggers though is the compatibility to switch to a pvp spec on command and not having to worry about weapons. Swords is hella fun though! In pvp it's too slow however...
just fyi anyone who tells you combat daggers is better in pvp than combat swords has obviously never played both in pvp. you dont even get ambush crits with a combat dagger spec lol. your stunlock is the same with either, and you will always feel gimped without prep and other sub talents, so just play whatever you find more fun in raid.
Great video as always, any changes to dagger enchants in this phase or still +5 dmg and crusader? Also, might be a noob question but what is the crit cap and is it possible to go seal fate in this phase and be viable? If so, what items would you change?
I play seal fate, and i do good dmg, especially on vael because of the backstabs proccing extra c-points, my only problem is that I do not have the tooth yet, only the gut gore ripper, so the poisons do not procc as often, and i have not bothered enchanted my OH with crusader, because I intend to swap it with the 1.6 speed tooth 🙂
double crusader for min/max PvE. If you're scared of RNG then do +15 agi in offhand. Only do +5 on MH dagger if you think you'll PvP BY CHOICE. If you're a PvE hero then put Crusader on the MH.
I dont know that i agree that running the r10 head is better than t2 head, if you look on shadowpanther there is about an 8 MAEP difference between that and t2 helm, the r10 shoulders have 3 less MAEP than the t1 shoulders as well, i feel like the raw stats of those items may outweigh the 40 AP bonus of the blue pvp set

u sure that the 2 pieces of rank 10 are better then t1 or t2 ones? we loosing like 50 agi (that is like 2% crits) that for daggers rogue is pretty important.

I’ve been hearing that you only need 4% hit If you are at 305 weapon skill and even less hit if you are above that, would you still advise things like band of accuria and shadow flame boots?
Who is saying these things? 6% soft cap at 305 weapon-skill. 9% at 300. Weapon skill past 305 doesn't make any significant difference in your hit chance. Regardless you still want hit past 6% in PVE because a lot of your damage comes from Auto attacks.

depends on a variety of other stats on your character, but it usually caps in the mid-high 30s. if you have characterstatsclassic its a little easier to see when drinking that agi pot no longer increases your crit.
Its not a that good sword, its incredible for tanks but thats because of the effect generating so much threat. The pnly way a rogue could use this sword effectively is in pvp
"lets pretend the rogue is ale to control threat" how in the world are you gonna control RNG based chance of stealing ALOT of threat, its simple - you cant.
@@989896123 Incorrect. Thunderfury is BiS offhand for rogues until Final Naxx sword combinations. Gressil/Iblis for Humans and Gressil/The Hungering Cold for every other race. If you're in a guild with your other DPS pulling nice numbers and a tank that doesn't suck, you won't have threat issues. edit: This is for any level 63 mobs and fully world-buffed; as soon as a mob is under 63 then TF is by far the bis offhand for rogues.
I got the neck and bracers so far. We are dong rogue tier in my guild based on performance and building full t2 for one rogue at a time. Swords being the prio as long as performance matches need. I am curious how long it will take to see the swords... /drool -- also the chance of a rogue getting half the items in this video is highly unlikely. They are just to good for druids/ wars

Humans rogues have +5 sword skill as racial and you also get +5 from the spec (2/2 Expertise) which puts you at 310 weaponskill. So you do not need the +4 from Maladath. Human warriors does need it as well as non human sword rogues. To reach 309.
after i think 308 weapon skill, you will no longer get glancing blows vs a boss, thus capping out the usefulness. i think it will still give you some hit % after 308, but that cutoff is super important because you will stop seeing glancing blows altogether. Its not so much that its not a good sword for humans, its just that its a tiny upgrade for them and a huge upgrade for everyone else.
Paddy C. Duel crusader is the best, but the 15 agi in offhand is ok. If you have both bis swords, use duel crusader, but if your offhand isn’t the best, I would say use the 15 agi if it’s cheaper then crusader.
pick what you like better. I like crusader's glow and burst potential - popping cooldowns on a crusader proc is fun and the proc is also really good in pvp.
After 308 weapon skill the DR is so large you're basically just losing damage. Better to just use a belt with better stats if you're already using core leather gloves and enough hit.

In regards to Seal Fate vs. Combat. In a Vacuum as well, Combat will outperform SF at all raid tiers. However, if a "shitter" is playing combat while a "pro" is playing SF, the SF player is going to step all over the combat rogue. In AQ40 and beyond, Seal Fate is nothing to scoff at. At majority-Naxx gear it's very very good. SF absurdly fun compared to combat too.
I dont agree with the pvp best in slot gear, Full Champion gear is better than the pve gear. You wont last too long with very little health unbuffed as a rogue in BG's unless you plan on waiting out every vanish cool down. The NS braclets are fine but even the blue pvp gear offers more stam and belt i guess could be optional depending on your existing stats, molten belt is a good option. I am very thankful to all the rogues that go into a Bg with 3k+ life, free honor.
Also, I have not completed all of the best in slot yet for PVP on my rogue, but I'm sitting at 4.5k hp right now. The gear I'm suggesting will result in nowhere near 3K health.
@@Zatar sorry but the time it takes to get all that gear for a pvp player just isnt worth it. Unless you being fed all the set pieces in your guild I would suggest that any pvp player go for champion gear instead. I am simply not basing my choice on stats alone. Do you think rankers want to spend all that time in a dungeon. My friend has champ gear with 5k health mace build. Im sitting on 4800 sword build unbuffed.
Why wouldnt humans want +4 skill? Its useless without any extra wep skill cause you need 5 for the extra hit, and +8 wep skill is what you should aim for to reduce glancing blow dmg reduction.

In full P3 bis and with world buffs, T2 head/T1 shoulders instead of the 2p blue pvp set only sims about 7-8 DPS lower. R10 for daggers is min/max, but nobody is going to fault you for sticking to the tier combo

You cannot cheap shot -> hemo -> hemo -> EVISCERATE without the 10 energy.

Hit is still good for dagger because over 50% of their damage comes from auto-attacks.
Dagger's also hit the crit cap faster because of dagger specialization, making hit have more value.

Swords do more damage in PvE. I prefer daggers in PvP. Go with what is more fun for you.

15 agi on offhand, +5 dmg to main hand.

Both pieces of ranked 10 have crit on them. You end up losing less than one crit, and you gain attack power and hit.

Its not so much that its not a good sword for humans, its just that its a tiny upgrade for them and a huge upgrade for everyone else.

Paddy C. Duel crusader is the best, but the 15 agi in offhand is ok. If you have both bis swords, use duel crusader, but if your offhand isn’t the best, I would say use the 15 agi if it’s cheaper then crusader.
pick what you like better. I like crusader's glow and burst potential - popping cooldowns on a crusader proc is fun and the proc is also really good in pvp.

308 weapon skill is all you ever want. After that, weapon skill has little effect.
After 308 weapon skill the DR is so large you're basically just losing damage. Better to just use a belt with better stats if you're already using core leather gloves and enough hit.

Combat sword>c dagger> seal fate in terms of dps. It will always be that way in Classic
@@CDirk1 incorrect. In a vaccum, the specs "swap" top DPS in each raid tier. Daggers MC, Swords BWL, Daggers AQ, Swords Naxx. In reality, both specs are so close in DPS that it will come down to the player's execution. Most important is to determine which playstyle you prefer and stick with that.
In regards to Seal Fate vs. Combat. In a Vacuum as well, Combat will outperform SF at all raid tiers. However, if a "shitter" is playing combat while a "pro" is playing SF, the SF player is going to step all over the combat rogue. In AQ40 and beyond, Seal Fate is nothing to scoff at. At majority-Naxx gear it's very very good. SF absurdly fun compared to combat too.

I dont agree with the pvp best in slot gear, Full Champion gear is better than the pve gear. You wont last too long with very little health unbuffed as a rogue in BG's unless you plan on waiting out every vanish cool down. The NS braclets are fine but even the blue pvp gear offers more stam and belt i guess could be optional depending on your existing stats, molten belt is a good option. I am very thankful to all the rogues that go into a Bg with 3k+ life, free honor.
The blue set only has 11 more stamina and you miss out on the nightslayer set bonus, more DPS stats, and resistances.
Also, I have not completed all of the best in slot yet for PVP on my rogue, but I'm sitting at 4.5k hp right now. The gear I'm suggesting will result in nowhere near 3K health.
@@Zatar sorry but the time it takes to get all that gear for a pvp player just isnt worth it. Unless you being fed all the set pieces in your guild I would suggest that any pvp player go for champion gear instead. I am simply not basing my choice on stats alone. Do you think rankers want to spend all that time in a dungeon. My friend has champ gear with 5k health mace build. Im sitting on 4800 sword build unbuffed.

Why wouldnt humans want +4 skill? Its useless without any extra wep skill cause you need 5 for the extra hit, and +8 wep skill is what you should aim for to reduce glancing blow dmg reduction.
Combat talent gives weapon skill. You get 308 without Maladath.

Maladath is still about a 2 dps upgrade for humans. Still shouldn't be using it unless everyone who actually needs it has it
An upgrade is an upgrade. Sitting with krol & mirah's double crusader, I'd still roll on it.

T1 shoulders, T2 helm or T1 helm for extra crit.
In full P3 bis and with world buffs, T2 head/T1 shoulders instead of the 2p blue pvp set only sims about 7-8 DPS lower. R10 for daggers is min/max, but nobody is going to fault you for sticking to the tier combo
