It's a great way to get fresh air and exercise, it's good for your mental health too! What Mantas is doing does not harm the beavers and stops the surrounding fields from getting waterlogged. Remember, Eastern Europe is part of the bread basket of Europe and helps feed people. Look at the bigger picture.

Important video for people concerned for beaver welfare. Removing their dams is not stopping beavers. They’re literally busy as beavers and will build again quickly. Beavers are good for the environment by creating dams, but also what is good for the environment is regularly releasing the stagnant water. The compromise is exactly what Kenoslovas is doing, releasing dams where roadways and fields are affected and in manmade waterways, leaving the natural waterways more to the beavers. Dam removal is the moral approach, the immoral approach is beaver lodge removal and beaver hunting, both of which is decreased by the actions of people doing the harder work of dam removal. Watch the videos guilt free in the knowledge this is all good for the environment and beaver welfare, as well as human activity.

What I hear is that beavers react to the sound of falling water. Perhaps making sure the water goes through quietly? The sound is how they know where to put the mud and why the dam gets bigger as long as water is going past it.

Matis if I am correct those look like badger dens. They build tunnels with many entrances. While building they will kick the dirt far from the opening making it easier to bring more dirt out of the tunnel. If I right steer clear of them. Thank you for another good video. I love when you get them to collapse. Oh by the way in the U.S. the drainage tubes are called field tiles.

SOMETIMES repeatedly opening the dam every other day or daily will encouage the beaver to move on. The use of an excavator depends on availability, accessibility of the dam and cost. Using explosives is controlled by local regulations. The deeper spot at 23:00 is a channel the beaver use regularly. If the dark ground at 23:41 is wet suggested that the beaver are using it to forage, look for foot prints. Matt does a good job of opening dams to keep the field drainage systems working.

Most Montana beavers make dams in a spot they choose. When they rebuild in the same spot it might take trapping to get them to leave. Or, repeated removals can give them impetus to leave. Looks like you have to go with repeated removals. You will have dams to clear as long as the beavers have forest to use.

  • @ArmouryTerrain
