I had no idea the main verse was doing a disco beat on the hat. That's so fucking cool. This is, no joke, my absolute favorite drum performance on any metal song. It's what made me fall in love with the drums as an instrument back in 94. And this is the fucking DEFINITIVE performance.
I will never take away from Dave McClain cause he himself is a phenomenal drummer but MH never hit quite as hard as they did with Kontos' drumming on this album. Just an absolute masterclass
So happy for Chris. Crushes it!! At the time this album came out, Chris brought power and groove to this style of music. His powerhouse playing is all over this album. Glad he is getting the opportunity to play these songs live again.
Chris, seeing you behind the drums and playing the intro of Davidian during the 25th anniversary has been one of the best moment in a concert. Such a blast !
Chris I will say this with 100% truth from the heart. I'm 42. Born in 1981. I discovered Machine Head in 97 with The More Things Change. Which you weren't on unfortunately. Then I listened to the debut, Burn My Eyes. It's an all time favorite album of mine. And still to this day, in my opinion, is the best Machine Head album ever written. How many albums and line-up changes have happened since?! The first album is still the best. What you guys did on that record is awesome! Its originality and roughness, and perfect execution is flawless. You're a legend in my eyes always, the best drummer Machine Head had. Much love Chris!
congratulations chris its just so awesome to see you backj in that seat playing those songs! your drumming is verty inspiring, you inspired me huge when i was like 13 14, i am 38 almost 39, and its still the same, your a damn legend man!!!!!! i hope you enjoy every second of that tour! fucking killer!!!

Phenomenal. It's a random comparison, but he's always a fraction behind the beat, like Charlie Watts. You only realise when you watch a vid like this - it makes the sound. Genius.
I will always remember you dude... I was in a band as a drummer when this album dropped. We we’re doing AIC sounding stuff. The band wanted me to buy a double bass pedal so we could change direction and sound like MH. I said no. We had differences and I left. But this song. This song, made me take up guitar... ha!
Undoubtedly one of the greatest metal albums ever made. Coincidentally machine head started "circling the drain" almost immediately after Chris and Logan left the band and never again came close to another Burn my eyes.

Best MH Album, best MH line-up. I wish they would stay together.. Would love to hear a new album by the original MH members. Sadly Rob didn't see it that way..
For to be honest - I love them both, and each of them have their own styl. It is Chris that made Machine Head Machine Head with His drumming on Burn. There are no words to describe what this album meant to me in '95, and what it remains to be today....amazing. I wish you all the success, and happiness that life can possibly bring you, man. Thank you!!!!
I fucking love this. It reminds me of Vinnie Paul - big groove and hard hitting. It's what I loved most about Machine Heads first LP. Fuck yes. HIT those fucking drums and give it some swing. I respect Dave Mcclain and his playing but fuck, I want "that" groove. Awesome playing. If only you could have played with this consistency back in the 90's. I kinda felt cheated when Walter Ryan was tickling the drums at Donington in 1995.
One of my favourite drummer of all time he's a beast on those drums should be a multi millionaire by now I get a feeling to be a drummer watching him I play bass lol

Great musicians all of them. But Burn my Eyes is the best album

You know the drummer is good when you can hear the godamn kit from the cam mic above the concert level PA
That's because they all use in ears so don't have many working cabs on stage.
