I’m a drummer, and it’s beyond me how guitarists are able to remember each and every note. Especially in crazy ass solos like stuff you hear on Trivium’s Shogun album
@@The_JustJoshing Muscle memory plays a big part in it, after you have practiced of course. Is that the same for drums?
@@Always_in_C_standard I'd say so, yes. After a while, you just know the song and could bust it out anytime. I guess that would be the same for guitar.

Just out of this world! Experiencing Kontos live on this tour just underlined the fact that one can play those BME songs like than him. Not even close. Seeing MH play on this tour, when Kontos took over the drums for the BME-set, you could just feel the awe in the crowd. Halfway through the opener you could see people basically picking up their jaws off the floor and looking at each other in awe. And most of these people have experienced those songs live many times before. You don't have to be a musician to appreciate the difference this man brings to the material. What a joy to experience him live and what a pity that he won't be part of the band's future releases.
Yes! I was absolutely blown away seeing him live. I caught them on that BME Anniversary show back on January 31st of this year in Silver Spring, Maryland and am SO glad I went! One of the best shows I've ever seen.

the only other drummer who makes sounding this huge seem completely effortless is Dave Lombardo. i don't think there's higher praise than that.

KK! King Kontos! How many I’ve watched ya when I was in my teens blasting MH videos loud in Portugal, always wondering if one day I’ll be able to replicate those drum licks! You’ve revolutionised drumming in the 90s. You have the ability to adapt extreme groves and blend them perfectly within the song. And after 30 years, and now myself also in the drum seat, I’m still amazed by your drum chops!

When Chris left MH, that band took their first steps towards their doom!! Unfortunately i never went to see MH on this tour, one of my mistakes in life...

hhnnnngggg, fucking so immense. I wish we'd have heard more of you output after MH in the 90's man, we were a bit bereft in the UK. People hardly ever wanna acknowledge the huge hardcore influences the first album has and your playing easily exemplifies this so so much.

A Thousand Lies has always been one of my favourite MH songs. Ace to see the groove being guarded by Chris on drums in this song, amazing to watch. Love this! \m/

We saw MH on the BME tour in Brisbane, Australia. When they came out and introduced Dave McClain as the new drummer we were like "WTF?! Where's Kontos??" and felt so ripped off. Dave was great of course, but man I wished we'd seen the full Kontos back in the day.
Saw him in Glasgow on one of the his last dates but they weren't great. Think he had already chosen to quit as he didn't show up for the in store signing.

You're right, it's funny how the memory plays up after 25 years, I must've mixed up memories of this and the next tour. I know the BME tour drummer was incredible though.
Walter Ryan also played in Possessed, I think.
