I was first introduced to this song in my mid teens I guess. The intro stopped me dead. I was young but when I heard the walking bass line I realized, even at the age of fifteen, what "cool" meant. I just turned sixty-five and Quincy Jones' chart of "Killer Joe" is still one of my favorite jazz tunes.
I really couldn't have said it any better.

This was a kick of this Song! Loved this version as a Jazz drummer it hit a great spot in my heart! Loved playing along.
First time I heard WDR they played behind the maestro Josef Zawinul. This lady played an alto solo and I was blown away! I became a fan and wanted to hear more of her work.
Once again you folks have broken the ceiling on this arrangement!! Just outstanding!!!

Its the first time I've heard Karolina on flute.Someone please write a number to feature her on flute.What a band to have behind you when your soloing.This is a band that's shows you what can be done.What an inspiration to up and coming musicians.More please.
