That's $16,000 in tubes alone, assuming they are Gen 3.
And since resin printed plastic is extremely tough, this guy just made an actual ground optimized panoramic nightvision system, with more research on lenses, merging the two tube image projections together, he'd essentially have made a GPNVG-18.
    When there's a will, there's a way.
Also works when you have tons of money to spend on expensive tubes.
    I frickin love you man.

Resin plastic is actually more brittle than FDM. I'm pretty sure he used SLA for high dimension accuracy so when you adjust the focus, they don't feel like crap and there is little wobble to reduce impact damage to the tubes. Some resins are almost as tough as FDM, but FDM is stronger unless improperly printed.

No. What these lack that the real ones have is an image collector prism on each side. If you assign about $4000 to each gen3 white phosphor intensifier tube you get $16,000 instantly. The body of the units are the same sort of polymer as a pmag or a peq15. About $400ish worth of high grade plastic. A few hundred dollars more for the crossbar mount. A bit more cash for the wiring, switches and etc... So we now have around $18,000-20,000 in the unit cost. Where does the rest of the $40k price tag come from? The prisms. They are unobtanium from fucking space. With the prisms you get one clear slightly fisheyed picture. Dude did a great job on these but there is almost no cost effective way to purchase or build those prisms as a regular person. At least not a way I am aware of. Hope this was somewhat informative.

I just built this, and it basically works like a binocular system, but with two circular views on the edges. So it is like you are viewing through three circles. This does mean there is a thin column of blind spot between the center focus and the two side circles. I'm currently experimenting with some 3D printed prism designs and plan to try to make an image collector from borosilicate to see if I can help remove the blind spots. As is however, it is a significant boost over bino setups, you just need to be aware of your blind spot and keep your head panning slightly so you don't lose awareness of what is in your blind spot. Its not as big of a deal breaker as you think.
Before that though. I think I am going to duplicate the bridge with a zamak or reinforced 3d printed design as the original plastic seems a little flimsy and the wilcox dovetail is out of spec (and I don't trust the chinese made G24 mounts)

    2. 영상증폭관에다가 전원만 공급해주고 들여다보면 야간투시경처럼 볼 수 있는건가요?
    3. 초점 조절도 가능한가요?
    4. 이것과 관련해서 상품화 하실 계획 없으신지요?

    • @tagart9780
      @tagart9780  3 года назад +1

      NV Holic 안녕하세요.
      바로 답 드리겠습니다.
      1. 영상증폭관 거리는 오리지널과 동일하고, 오리지널은 지름큰 렌즈를 잘라붙여 영상이 눈사람처럼 보이나 제가 만든건 간단하게 만들기위해 지름이 작은 렌즈를 사용해서 8자로 보입니다.
      오리지널은 그래서 파노라믹이라는 이름을 사용합니다.

The only real cost is the IIT, which cost me $7,200 total. I had the tube lying around though. His design however has the flaw that there isn't a prism so the images are not joined together and you have two big black bars on the side of the main image. I would not go out and buy tubes just for this build, Kommandostore has a complete pano kit already made for $13,500. Which has a real prism like the real thing.
