I purchased these for my kitchen. They work great as undercabinet lighting and task lighting. The Ansluta power supply is a bit bulky, but overall I am impressed. I was unable to get the motion sensor to work at all. I just leave them on when I'm working in the kitchen, and they are on a switched outlet to turn them off when I leave. Disappointed by the lack of a good sensor, but it's not the end of the world. I really like the directional aspect of this light. If you point it downward, it shines downward and does not shine in your eyes. Good color temp, 2700K warm white.
The motion sensors were pretty unreliable in my experience too, but the lights themselves are the opposite, and still in use now. Thanks for the comment!
@@homekitnews It's not actually a motion sensor; it's a light sensor. Try toggling the switch to 'auto', then cover the two sensors for a few seconds; the light should turn off. Uncover the sensors, and the light will immediately turn on.
@@markanthonyarnaez2517 thanks for that. Unfortunately, regardless of what type of sensor it is, it’s still very slow compared to the contact sensors I use.
The strip and the sensors are all in HomeKit, which is how I'm able to trigger the lights with the sensors. I do clearly mention the brand of sensors I'm using in the video - Aqara and Mijia.
How's the brightness? I'd like to use this as an impromptu desk lamp as my setup doesn't really have space for a regular desk lamp directly above where I'm working, but I'm not sure if it's bright enough to work by. Thanks!
At 530lm it would be bright enough if it were in lamp, but because the light is spread across a wider area/length, in my opinion, you're not going to get that concentration of brightness that you might need for working at your desk. It does depend on how high above your desk you have it though.
Previously, in order to add a Tradfri device to the Tradfri gateway, you needed what Ikea referred to as a 'Steering device' acting as sort of a middleman, which would typically be another Tradfri battery-operated device, like a wireless button or even a motion sensor. That's no longer required, thankfully. I briefly mention it in this video - ruclips.net/video/6aUyx6iENjw/видео.html - starting at 3' 13".
@@homekitnews First of all, thank you for your swift response. I had already seen your video that you linked for me and what I wonder was something like IKEA’s comment concerning “no need to get that.” I want to get IKEA IoT bulbs for my home that can be controlled by iOS HomeKit and what do you think I need to prepare? Thanks in advance and I like your voice.
@@basztmc because the other part of the sensor would have to sit on the LED strip itself, which would then block some of the light. That would looks rubbish.

If used in a display case, can the light be set to remain on? So not just when the doors are open
yes, you can do that.
Could i use it with the Milsbo display cabinet? And attach it to a class shelf? :)
This is what I am planning to do with the 60cm sizes, any update or issues with you if you ended up doing it?
Please help I am so confused on how u connected the sensor to the led strip and also which sensor are you using the eve or aqara?!

@@homekitnews what hub is the ikea light connected to?
It’s connected to the older Ikea Trådfri hub, via the Ikea Tradfri Driver.
So, does not the sensor work?
Sorry, I’m not sure what you’re referring to.
@@homekitnewsthe built in under cabinet motion sensor
@@TSLApilot ok, I understand now. It did work, but just not as well as I expected, so I. Used the contact sensors instead.
How long is the cable attached to the light?
3.5 metres/137 inches.

Wait how are you connecting it to Apple home?
The lights are connected to an Ikea Tradfri driver, which then connects to the Ikea Tradfri Gateway, which is HomeKit compatible.
Do I need the driver? There is already cable with a switch available.
Yes, if you want the lights to connect to your smart home, you need the driver, which is the part that makes it ‘smart’ essentially.
What gateway are you using to add the IKEA led and aqara/mija sensors ?
I’m using an Aqara Hub M2 for the sensors, and the Ikea Trådfri gateway for the Ikea LED lights.
Where can I find any information of “no need to get the steering device anymore”?

why you need 2 door sensor?
one for left and right?
Yes, that’s right. For both doors.
@@homekitnews oh you set the light separate for left and right ?
@@basztmc it’s just one light, but I am ensuring the light will come on if either door is opened.

A couple of nifty holes with a power drill and you’ll be good!

Just get battery operated Yeelight sensor lights. Rechargeable. Very thin and easy to install
@@just4therecord the Yeelight ones can’t be automated, which is the benefit of these.
