THERE, _now_ the card A: Can Special Summon itself plenty easily in a Blue-Eyes Deck, B: Makes a “Caveman”-style battle centric Blue-Eyes deck more efficient (What with rapidly shifting the ATK/DEF difference of all the monsters on the field in YOUR favor, while being indestructible to monsters that are weaker than this card.), and C: If this card is used as tribute or material for the summon of a Blue-Eyes monster, that summoned monster gains this card’s ATK/DEF (Which again can bulk itself up beforehand) AND returns itself to your hand, ready to be special summoned again by it’s first (quick) effect.

We need a Saggi the Dark Clown archetype! I always loved how Kaiba would strategically use one dark monster with less than a thousand ATK and Saggi is pretty memorable due to it’s use in the very first duel of the show.

8:24 So back in the day, the main appeal of Summoned Skull was that, in early days, it was an easy to search out and summon (for the time) beatstick, thanks to cards like Sangan, Witch Of The Black Forest and being a 1 tribute monster…
Let me see if I can retrain SS to continue on in that regard whilst still providing for todays decks properly:
_Archfiend Summoned Skull_ (DARK)
Level 6
Fiend/Effect
(This card is always treated as “Summoned Skull”, but is still an “Archfiend” card)
_If this card is summoned, You can add 1 card that mentions “Archfiend” in it’s name or effects to your hand (From your deck or GY.) This card can attack all of your opponent’s monsters once each, and if it attacks an opponent’s defense position monster: Inflict piercing battle damage. Gains the following effects while “Pandemonium” or “Archfiend Palabyrinth” are on the field: ⚫️You can normal summon this card without tributes. ⚫️(Quick Effect) If this card or a normal monster you control leaves the field by battle or an opponent’s card effect, you can tribute 1 card from your hand or field: Special Summon it._

Also, side-note, imagine how much easier it would have been if SS was properly named as an “Archfiend” card to begin with?
19:57 So the problems with the God Cards in the transition from the Anime into the actual game was that A: They had more effects than could be fit onto a single card (at least with how effects were written at the time) and B: The Gods would have been WAY stronger than anything that existed, and the game would have seen even MORE absurd and rapid power creep in creating decks that could stand against the full power of the gods…
Still, let me try something interesting for some God Card retrains… *_I’ll give them a SECOND Effect box, like Pendulums, BUT they’re still just “regular” monsters otherwise._* Like we could put the summoning related effects and requirements and the more universal god card effects, in the top box, and the main effects that separate each god on the bottom.
So Slifer for example…
