- While on a short stopover in Detroit, MI, I was told that I "had" to go see Telly's Greenhouse in nearby Troy-a four-decade, family-owned and operated greenhouse selling houseplants, annuals, and perennials. Well, let me just say I was bowled over with their wide selection of some very hard-to-find plants-not to mention how nice and full many of their plants were. Dare I say they might have a BETTER selection than most plant shops in NYC. But you can be the judge of that!

I always say, " If they don't have the plant you want at Telly's, you don't need that plant!" I live 5 minutes away from the Shelby location & 15 minutes from the Troy location, so I'm pretty blessed!
This is probably the best nursery in USA
It's so adorable how the owners are just spamming Summer with their plants. Lol. They're like look at this one! That one! This one! You can really tell they love and are proud of their collection. I feel need to watch this 2 more times because there really are a lot of plants in this video.
Totally guilty. Can't contain our enthusiasm.

I think this is hands down, the best plant tour I've seen to date. I watch it 3 times.. It was so much fun. The owners story was precious. The only thing missing was me😊
I saw this video a week ago when I woke up in the middle of the night a 2am and couldn’t go back to sleepy. I thought about this greenhouse so much I decided to take a 4hour road trip from Chicago just a few day later. Trust me when I say it was worth it. Spent over 600$ on plants and didn’t regret a penny!

Watching this was like a dream. If I had the opportunity to tour this greenhouse, I would need to be dragged out. My goodness! Such a beautiful and bountiful collection. I felt like turning the camera back to the tillandsias and bonsais though because I absolutely adore those.

It is so funny, growing up in the Philippines back in the 70's, in our classroom in the province, our teacher would have a trailing vine above the lined up 4 green chalk boards. The vines would start out as a little three leaf plant in a hanging water vase then by the end of the school year, it would trail around framing the boards. Little did I know those were the syngoniums! Now I know!
This was the healthist greenhouse I have ever toured! I wanted almost every plant I saw.
I am so excited for this video. I just told my best friend that we have to have a friend date at this place. 🤩I worked in Troy and never knew about this place. 😢Guess that’s what happens when you go straight home 🤷🏽♀️

43:00 Wow, when he said people are on vacation, and he takes care of their bonsai and charges by the inch. That’s amazing. It’s like a pet. I feel like bonsai is one of the coolest plant topics. I always imagine bonsai owners take so much care and have so much patience. Very cute to see he boards them.
One of my favorite things about Tellys is when they have a bunch of bonsai in and I get to admire the work and artistry that went into growing them up to the size that they are

That nursery is Heaven👍🏻 I especially liked that they had huge sections of Hoya , philodendrons , syngoniums , and the variegated aroids. I would lose my mind ( and my wallet ) in there (:

I travel to this greenhouse from Niagara Falls!!! April is one of the best workers there!!! Absolutely beautiful plants here!!! It's so nice that they'll tend to other people's plants for the winter and such too!!!

I'm going to have to make a trip here! My local greenhouses are sad or they only do outdoor plants. Its not too far away maybe a few hours!! Looks like heaven to me. For a small business they have a really large selection. This might be my new favorite place to buy houseplants (even maybe outdoor plants) I am so excited!

THANK YOU ,THANK YOU!!!! for this video and introducing me to Telly’s Greenhouse! We drove 2.5 hours yesterday from Kalamazoo, MI to see it and IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF THE DRIVE! I was able to bring home backseat full of lovelies including a Philo Goeldii, Alocasia Macrorrhiza (Stingray plant) and a beautiful Hope philodendron (plus about 8 others! 😬). Love your channel and you honestly made my day introducing me to a little piece of heaven in my own state!!

Summer, Tellys is by far the best greenhouse I have been to in Michigan. I’m about an hour from there and go every couple months. George is great. They always have an excellent selection. I don’t I think I have ever had a plant die from them. I was so excited to see this visit on your channel!! Thank you!

Another fabulous tour! I can't believe the variety of plants and how substantial they are. There are no puny plants there..lol.
