- What Are The Best & Worst Rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village? In today's video, I go over some of the best (and worst) rooms at this popular Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resort at Walt Disney World.
Everyone's wants are different, I will walk you through some things to consider when making a room request at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village using the TouringPlans.com Room Request Feature available only to their subscribers. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village offers 2 room view categories and I will go through each one recommending my personal suggestion for each category. Some Standard View Rooms do have a partial Savannah View and I go over which rooms they are. Also, which rooms I would try to avoid such as near smoking sections, luggage/package delivery, or bad savannah views.
UPDATE: Room 7676 May have an obstructed view

The walks feel longer than what they actually are. It's just that you're in a long hall the entire time. While the rooms near the lobby on the Savannah side are definitely preferable, it's really only about 5 minutes from the lobby to the end, and the walk from the bus into the lobby is pretty short. It absolutely does feel long at the end of the day. Fantastic , helpful video.
Another thing about being close to the lobby is that everyone is more likely to use the refillable mugs more often. Speaking of refillable mugs, one way we rest during the day is to hop onto a skyliner or monorail and head to a nearby resort. we just have lunch and rest up. We take our mugs with us in a backpack.
For me, those rooms toward the end of the hall look idyllic. 😄We usually drive and no longer do a lot of park time. I also love my peace and quiet. They may not be the first rooms I request. I would probably want a room somewhere in the middle but I wouldn't be upset if I ended up with one of them.
Everyone’s wants are different for sure.
We were in room 7737 very recently and it was definitely a good bang for the buck 😀
That’s great to hear
SO VERY HELPFUL- THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO
Wow Awesome Video..... I was waiting for it Keep it up... Just amazing..
Thank you, this is a great help! 👍🏼👏🏼
Thank you. I will try and request those rooms for the deluxe studio standard view. At least I have something to go off of
Thank you so much!! This will be a great help in March when my grandmother and toddler come with us and we need to be closer to the elevator!
Glad I could help
Thanks so much for this video! The detail is wonderful. I have a split stay booked in May. It's my first time renting DVC points. I had no idea where to begin with room requests so your video has been a huge help! ❤️
Aww, you are very welcome. I found myself always giving advice to people for best rooms, so it made sense just to make videos for each resort. I love when others tell me it helped them. Have a wonderful trip!
Thank You, Thank You for this!!!
You are very welcome. Please report back and let me know if your room request was fulfilled and how your stay was.
I'm currently staying in room 7659 and it wonderful. We've seen a variety of animals and the view is relaxing. Also parking is underground and we were right next to a elevator so we were able to get in and out quickly. My kid loves the room and said it was amazing!
That’s wonderful! So glad to hear that.
And we are at WDW now too!
I just want to thank you again for this video. I got the exact room I requested. 7653. Partial savanna view. I would sit on the balcony in the mornings on our off days and eat breakfast while reading my book.
That’s fantastic! Thanks for letting me know
So happy to hear this as I watch this video. Do you mind sharing how you requested this? Did you call and specifically ask for room 7653? Sorry if that’s a silly question 😉 but I’ve never requested a specific area or room before.
@@nicolegilleland1032 you need to use TouringPlans. Look up my video called TouringPlans101
love this one/ thank you/ going in September
I learned a lot making this one.
This is very informative. I am currently saving money to buy DCV and my preferred home resort is AKV. I will make great use of a second and beyond use of these videos when I book.
Check out my video on 10 things I wish I knew before buying DVC
@@ShannonFord OK thanks!
Great video! Is a higher floor better for savnnah view? Or is it best to stay on the low floor?
I recently had my first stay as a DVC member. I was in 7237 on the South Trail. It was convenient to the lobby and to Jambo House, but the view wasn't very nice. You seem to prefer the North Trail.
At Kidani, the views are better farther from the lobby. It’s a trade off
Thanks for your video. My husband and I recently stayed at Kidani Village and we were honestly quite disappointed by this resort. We scheduled way in advance and were excited to pay the premium for the "savanna view". However, most of the rooms with a "savanna view" are facing a bunch of trees with limited/distant visibility to the animals... Our first room assignment was to a smaller "savanna" that only included a subset of Okapi, birds, and deer -- it did not include giraffe, zebra, etc. Just not what was expected. The rooms at Kidani are quite dated, the beds are small and uncomfortable. We explored Jambo House also, and it seems the better building of the two at AKL as it is more lively and has a better angle to the savanna. I've stayed in 5+ Disney resorts, some much less expensive than Animal Kingdom Lodge, and this was by far the worst. The price and prestige doesn't match the quality and value. For anyone considering AKL, skip it, just plan to have breakfast or dinner at one of the resort restaurants and you'll get to see all of the animals. It's not a "bad" place by any means, but I really disagree with how Disney markets and prices this resort as a premium option. If you think you'll be sipping coffee on your patio while a giraffe is standing outside, this is not it.
We just booked a dvc rental and I requested any of the partial savanna view rooms
That’s great. Did you use TouringPlans?
I’m more confused than ever, but I’ll figure it out. Two quick questions:
1) Can you park near the main lobby…take your car from your building and not have to do the walk if you’re far away? (Still plan to use WDW buses to everywhere.)
2) If you’ve already booked, do you have to phone to make a room request? I don’t see an online option.
Room request is through TouringPlans. Watch the Tp 101 video on how to do it.
As for parking, I’m not 💯 sure. I know many people like Kidani, because parking in closer to the rooms.
Are these supposed to be better than the regular animal kingdom lodge hotel rooms?
These are part of the DVC portion of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Kidani Village is entirely DVC while Jambo House is only about 20% DVC. DVC units are more like small apartments. Studio Villas are probably about the same size as a regular hotel room except they have 1 queen bed and a pullout instead of 2 queen beds and they also have a kitchenette. There are also 1,2 & 3 bedroom units.
@@ShannonFord Thanks for the info. I have a friend that's part of DVC and is going to let me use her points at Aninal Kingdom Lodge. I was wondering how they divided it.
@@MM-lk1cz so right now, I don’t recommend staying at Jambo House. Only the DVC rooms are open, so only the pool is open and that’s it. No restaurants, no gym, no stores, nothing. Even Kidani has limited amenities right now. I recommend watching my best dvc resorts in 2020 (same for 2021).
@@ShannonFord I'll go ahead and watch it. I've always wanted to stay at animal kingdom so that's why I told her to look up that hotel. It would be my first time at Disney world. She's also giving us a REALLY good deal to use her points. So I don't know I would ever have that chance again.
@@MM-lk1cz sounds great. Kidani is great. Just be prepared that there won’t be many options for onsite dining/snacking etc. as long as you are prepared, you should be fine. I definitely recommend Kidani though right now I’ve Jambo House
