    for me when i was first trying to learn this. i found out that it was really effective. to be the first one to get in range , and the first to throw in combination(3-4 punches) as soon as you get in range or even as you’re getting in range.
    i think it’s bc A. ur having someone react to you which will be slower than you acting. and B. throwing in combination, builds momentum for you which makes it harder for someone to throw back without getting hit
    being able to and getting used to these two things have definitely built my confidence in middle distance

    Bro I love your work so much, I am amateur mma fighter and your videos guide me when I want to do extra work just by myself and the bag.
    I would suggest you create a private community where you upload us one or two videos each week and with polls for us to choose the type of techiniques and maybe you answer some questions of ours.
    if it's a good idea for you, it's best to excute it asap, even with low number of subscribers, they would increase by time that's inevitable.

    What’s your take on guarding with open hands, fingers extended? From elbow to finger tip, the gain in coverage can be significant.
    It’s so rare these days, is it the modern gloves or are there cons?

    • @bambaraboxing
      @bambaraboxing  7 месяцев назад

      I beleive making the fist stacks the padding and protects the hand. Superficially I will often have bruises on my dome from my knuckles if a blocked a lot in a fight. But it's much better than being kayoed!

    which fighters/fights would you recommend watching for middle distance film study

    • @bambaraboxing
      @bambaraboxing  10 месяцев назад +1

      When looking to study distances I would recommend watching fighters, not just fight. Because then you see how they Establish and hold the range. For mid distance check out chivez Sr, GGG, Mike tyson, Joe frazier.

  • @byroktheclock

    What do those who say the high guard a middle range is handcuffs recommended to use as a guard in middle range then?

    • @bambaraboxing
      @bambaraboxing  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@byroktheclock they want you to keep swimming and punching and they are right about that. Even with the highguard you should keep the headmovement and offense flowing. The real problem is staying on the line not attacking or layering in your defense, and they blame the high guard for this.

    So the difference between taking a lane and taking an angle is foot placement and hip configuration to your opponent's hips. When Renee takes a lane, in that last example against the bag, she only steps slightly to her right with her right foot but her hips still face square to the opponent, correct?
    And when she takes an angle, she stepped to her left with her lead foot, then brought her right foot behind it in pursuit, causing her hips to be ANGLED to her opponent's hips, correct, or am I missing something?
