I absolutely, positively, love, that you simply show the move, show the move repeatedly, show the move in slow motion, show the move with text, but that you don't spend endless hours talking, explaining, telling me how to do the move. You simply show the move, it's brilliant. I absolutely hate when people don't slow the move and talk to much, and you my friend, have done a perfect job of conveying material in a clear, concise, professional, effective way and I thank you so much for doing this. You and your channel are amazing. And if anybody else is watching this and they make videos stop talking. start doing. Like these guys. Best content on RUclips.
This might be easily the best SKILL channel (ever). In any sport, any profession, anything that deals with HOW TO do something this is the best channel ever. Plus no extra talking etc straight to the point. Short and sweet.

This channel is superb. There's about half a dozen brilliant boxing channels on RUclips but this one is unique, nailed on 100% quality, superb content. Thank you
2:55 Tommy Morrison's favorite I think, along with the right catch and counter left hook. it's incredible how many people he knocked out with that counter.
Quality stuff man, lots of info in a very direct and unique manner... Well done! excellent boxing channel. The Force is Strong with U my Friend, Keep Going, Balkan Shipyards
You guys do an outstanding job! And out here on California we have a lot of good coaching and boxers. Only thing I have to ask is if you do more southpaw stuff. Even the way you added it in with the Philly Shell was outstanding! Other than that there is no better on line training than you guys. Keep up the good work!
To be safe it's always better to counter off of the same side you have defended. Ie catch the right hand on your left glove shoot the left hook. This isn't just to remain defensively responsible but also to exploit the opening created while your opponent is attacking.
@@McLeodScott I agree. I just especially get worried when people are throwing the rear uppercutt as a counter because that lead hook has caught plenty fighters during the exchanges and it's avoidable if you just literally never drill that. Just my opinion.
@@skipeveryday7282 @LETS PLAY Groves was notorious for dropping his hand so was always open to that even if he didn't throw the shot, imo he thought he was a lot better of a boxer than he was actually was. You should tailor your counter to your opponent's patterns and traits and to the situation in hand. If you see an opening and have drilled the counter it's easier exploit. You certainly don't want to be predictable if you don't want to end up falling on your own leg
Great video like always it’s much appreciated and I am sorry to hear about your fighter passing your doing him proud with what your doing and the name change hope you and everyone around you stay safe 👊🏼
Great tutorial, love the slow motion replays. One question on weight, in the catch and counter, when you are catching say, an opponents left hook upstairs with your right glove, where is your weight supposed to be? I find that if my weight is more on my left leg, I get pushed slightly off balance, whereas if I have my weight on my right leg, my balance is strong, but the impact of their left hook on my glove is harder, and it feels almost as jarring as actually being hit by the punch. How do you keep your balance while dissipating the force of the blow in irder to minimise its effect?
Either either lead or rear leg weight distribution would work. Sitting on the rear leg I understand you will be on the side of the incoming left hook but a slight rotation of the shoulder and head to ride the blow would help take the sting out of the left hook. Also bring the arm off your face to catch and meet the incoming shot instead of having your arm on your face and absorbing the full impact of the blow. Weight transfer on the lead I prefer so maybe your head is coming too far forward over your lead foot hense the reason you may feel off balance. If you keep your head centred and then sit down on the lead leg you will probably feel more sturdy. Hope this helps 👍🏼🥊
When would be the time to use head movement in sparring. Because this video shows great defence with great offence it makes head movement look pointless.
In my opinion keep the glove open. You will be more relaxed and easily deflect the shot plus you can deliver a quicker, sharper counter off the back of it.
@@McLeodScott and how do you distribute weight on the leg when you're catching and countering on the same side, say catch opponent's rear hook with a lead catch and the lead hook counter? You see how around 2:54 you said distribute weight on the rear leg when catching the opponent's rear hook with the lead catch but countering with the opposite side - rear upper cut. The weight distribution with that counter feels naturally from right to left, it's the same side catch counters that I'm having a problem because you have to recoil to throw the countering punch. It feels slower unless it's all about handspeed there
