His nephews were absolutely right. As a powerfully emotional game with a linear storyline and well written characters, it naturally was a prime opportunity for TV, but only if done carefully. Retaining Druckmann & Gustavo in the project and combining it with Craig's expertise was the first step to success, keeping it with HBO was the second step, and casting Pedro & Bella was the third. 6 episodes are in by the time of this comment and the show is NOTHING SHORT OF SPECTACULAR.
I took an Ambien once on a long flight and someone told me you see crazy hallucinations if you stay awake. So I tried to stay awake and sure enough, I started dreaming while I was awake and then quickly passed out. This was all within like 10 minutes of taking it, so it's impressive that Pedro actually managed to have a conversation on the phone.

I had read the books before season 4 of GoT came out, and Oberyn was my favorite character. I was mad when I saw the trailers, because Pedro looked nothing like the Oberyn from my head. I stopped being mad the minute he opened his mouth. He took that role and absolutely KILLED it.
Damn. That's a statement for sure. Oberyn Martell is among my favorites and Pedro killed that role, but best actor in GoT is wild. Charles Dance? Nikolaj Coster-Waldau? Jack Gleeson? There are so many amazing actors in GoT. It's got the best casting ever.

In ten years, people my age will be oldies like him and ten years after that there won't be any working actors left that didn't grow up in the age of gaming.
I know plenty of very young people that don't know a thing or two about games. Some people just don't care. Pedro was born in 1975, that is young enough to have games around when he was a kid.
