@@barrykingery4252 Not the case in Colorado. If they wanted to lie about it there would be many more dispos that claim to be organic. My city of 700k people doesn't claim to have one organic dispo, and the one time I drove to Pueblo for advertised organic it was just ok quality.
Rarely is outdoor better than indoor. Why do you think that is? There is nothing natural about growing indoors. How organic can you be under artificial light?

I was the inventory manager of a California collective for a few years but then I went into growing and spraying pesticides on the plant due to their regiment. I got really sick and left the industry about 10 years ago and haven’t looked back.

I used to work for a large medical greenhouse grow in Florida back in 2019-21 and had to use The Box at one point. Its super crazy how it can basically microwave mold and it can also add terpenes as well to the flower to give it different smells, whats even scarier is that they had to put it away because they found a bigger machine because more flower was failing! Then I moved to Michigan and worked on an indoor grow where they religiously sprayed Zerotol on the flower for the last few weeks. After a few months post harvest all that flower would look like dog food in a bag because of how oxidized it was. Been smoking my (or a buddies) homegrow ever since!
Awesome story, I think many of us who worked in it will continue to tell these stories until things change. Eventually there will probably be legal action. So many marijuana companies have had me sign NDAs. If that doesn’t tell you something is up, I don’t know what will. Cause trust me, growing weed ain’t have any proprietary secretive technology. All they have is cheap and easy ways to fix problems they caused and could have prevented. And that’s what they don’t want you to share.

That's wild! When I worked in arizona on grows we would stop neem oil 2 weeks into flowering and ride out the next 6 weeks. If we had mold or any problems we basically trashed it(kept for myself of course) only had one grow go bad. The rest was fantastic.

When I can get a $15 eighth in a couple of minutes when I am having a PTSD episode the dispos will always win. Every grower I've known is stuck up and their eigths are $50 and takes hours to deal with them. Sometimes there's a large nug missing as well. So when "legacy" growers stop being stuck up and realize there are people who need this so they're not on psych medication. Then maybe I'll go to a grower.

I used to work at this organic microbusiness Southland farms that's claimed to never remediate any of their bud to customers, but every harvest got thrown in a willow machine to remediate it just so it could past testing. People actually think their getting craft cannabis from them.

Im a Farmer and dispo owner in Los Angeles and no way in hell I would use this shit. If you grow good weed you don't need any of this shit. I don't even use preventative foliar sprays. Grow strong plants keep your vpd correct you don't need anything like this. Bubblegum Farms and Bubblegum dispensary is where I operate.

How can those companies with their sophisticated grow operations create weed that doesn't have a powerful aroma? I grow in dirt with an LED light and my weed stinks to high heaven and I'd put mine up against anything from a dispensary
I'd imagine most grow ops use only the cheapest materials, the crappiest most lifeless soil, and cheap bulk Chinese fertilizers.
Are LEDs effective now? I used to grow but used ceramic metal halide for vegging and high pressure sodium for budding. The LEDs were just coming out when I stopped growing but at that point they were a step down from the big bulbs. I knew some guys that would use LEDs on the underside to get the lower stuff but they didn't seems to have it all worked out yet. I grew once batch with the old curly CFL bulbs, about 20 of them and you could keep them very close to the plants due to the low heat. Actually got an ok haul from that experiment but always figured LEDs would eventually be the goto for growing. I am thinking of getting back into it now that the kids are grown and I don't live next to a speed trap with cops standing outside writing tickets. The paranoia put me off of growing but I really do miss it
@@murrayshekelberg9754 I used some fluorescent tubes in 88 they did fine. It's difficult to compete with that 400Watt HPS, but nowadays they got full spectrum lighting and completely adjustable red and blue for veg and flower.

I started growing weed because buying 1/8 cost well over $60 plus $28 in fees and a 15% state tax.

I got some proper seeds from Humboldt seed company now and my setup a bit more dialed in now thanks to channels like this one. Hoping the next go gets better results.

This is probley why most if not all weed at dispo's sucks now a days. I miss the days when colorado was the only rec legal state, they had some of the best, killer bud iv ever had, it was always 9 out of 10 bud, when I went in 2023 through today, ALL the Dispo's are selling only 4 out of 10 quality bud. it sucks now a days !!!! I havn't had any GOOD medicinal weed in years. so so so sad. I love growing, but I dont want that to be my only option for good medicine. I should be able to get good weed at the dispos. I will never forget how amazing the weed was during the first years of recreational colorado bud. my god. I had no idea weed could be that good. It makes my very soul hurt to see what quality of bud is being sold now.

There was, believe it or not, a bond of trust between consumer and dealer when it was illegal. If you had a regular guy you counted on him or her to treat you straight. One would never get tainted shit. You can forget that now Jack. The guys selling you weed were selling used cars yesterday.
You live in a fairy tale land talking about this level of trust with dealers. Maybe some ive dealt with if i never left my home town,but these relationships arent easy to forge if you move around. I was told my whole life, when it became legal, tobacco industry would take over and all we would get is weaker product with chemicals. Well pretty much opposite happened. Its stronger and actually monitored for purity. And i can get it whenever i want without meet8ng somewhere shady. And i never have to worry about what im going to do if someone steals my money. Ill gladly pay more for this setup.

It's an X-ray device. X-ray the bud for about 8 hours it brings the CFU' s down to 0. Colony Forming Units. It works well also necessary. If your weed doesn't pass you lose a lot of money.

I'm a cultivation tech/harvest trimmer. I've worked at multiple companies, one place I went to, was using xerotol solution sprayed on the plants. We did 3 or 4 rounds of heavy spraying, from full harvested plant, to spraying half trimmed bins, on a crop that we completed final trim on! I'm not sure if it was sold like that, but I believe it was going to, the business owner wanted a really reallu good job trimming the sprayed buds.
Just like you I only trust myself and friend's that grow as well. Dispensaries to me are just like fast food joints. Happy growing.

My state of Oklahoma has done almost everything wrong when it comes to dispo's and it's rules, it has been a total S&*it show. And from the paitent side it really really sucks to go into over 300 differrent dispo's and literally ALL the weed products suck, from flower, to concentrates, to ediables. there is something wrong with everything in some way or another. Dispo weed in colorado was all very amazing bud in 2014-2019 even colorado has been hit with an extreme downgrade in quality since the pandemic. Not everyone can grow, and it really makes me sad that the legal industry is only focused on money now and not prodiving a good product.
You need to branch out more my man. There are lots of really good dispo's here. You just have to look and do your research. Stay away from OKC and Tulsa. They are gonna just throw anything out there to make money and buy from any seller/grower.

I swear they purge the flower here in Florida right up to the point there is still enough thc in the flower to sell yet they were still able to extract enough oil for other revenue. I’ve smoked for 45 years. I’m Pretty sure I can tell when there’s a difference.

the mold that is tested for is invisible to the naked eye. Oddly enough the grey mold (bud rot) and powdery mildew do not fail testing..at least in CA.

I just went to a large cannabis trade show last week here in Europe. I talked with a woman representing a large US company that sells terpenes worldwide. She gave me samples for kush mints and blueberry. The customers use these to spray on their product to improve flavor and smell on a lower quality weed. Fake terpenes are a huuuuuuuge market 😢.
I am super sensitive, and old school, unfortunatly, i have learned to detect the taste and smell of mold in poorly shipped/ smuggled flowes. That i know that i know, i have smoked mold from almost every dispo i have shopped at...trust me when i say i am super sensitive, i can hear lighbulbs and taste ozone .
I've worked with ozone in a couple of different industries. It does have a slight odor. And a KILLER odor if its concentrated. Not unlike chlorine... a bit different... and way different (but just as choking as chlorine) in high concentrations.
I live in Oklahoma and I only shop at one Dispensary. They are local and do indoor grows and put out quality cannabis. I also used to trim for these guys and have seen how they operate. Nothing goes into their dispensary without it being approved by the owner and by the OMMA.
The OMMA does not fuq around. They have their own agents that do undercover work and work 24/7 to stop illegal grows and operations. Oklahoma has the best laws and rights for licensed patients.
If you don't believe me....look it up and compare it with your State or against any other State.

I noticed some of the weed I get from the dispensary smells like a skunk when you open it but then after about 3 or 4 days there's no smell at all and the flavor goes from okay to the flavor of grass clippings from your yard. Now I know why
Why? Because you opened the container and let the bud dry out? Yeah when you don’t add a boveda pack to your bud jar, it’s going to dry out if you repeatedly expose it to oxygen.
Learn to store your flower correctly. That doesn’t mean store it in the plastic it came in.

It was interesting... At the same exact time I switched from smoking to vaporizing full buds and I also began growing myself. Vaping was a noticeable difference in terms of identifying taste and potency (because vapor is dependent on THC or other compounds that vaporize at low heat). When I vaped stuff I grew it might not have been as potent, but it was cleaner on the palette, easier on my lungs, and a cleaner high. When I ran out of my first harvest early, I had to revert to store bought and immediately noticed it was heavier, more potent, foggier minded, and less pleasant. Made me question if there were chemicals added, because it was a night and day different experience. I get nice stuff from dispensaries too... I started focussing on organic brands and the cleanest tasting high end stuff I could find.
When I was 18 Scot I smoked fungi weed and that lead me to the hospital with a bad lung infection

Sounds like paraquat weed we had. It was beyond mold. The Mexicans harvest the plant before it wilted and press it into bricks before it was cured.

Before legalization who was testing their weed for this stuff that you can’t even see with the naked eye? Sometimes even a a magnifying glass you can’t see them with. I mean let’s be real people have been growing weed since well I mean the beginning of time but let’s start at the 70s and work up to like 2010 who was testing their flower for this stuff? Genuinely curious? Do homegrowers test for these things? Did they always? When did we start testing weed for all these different things?
I remember reading about some growers in the 70’s actually burying their stuff with the intent to get a certain mold. Supposedly the mold improved the high.
I also remember back in the 80’s as a teen getting stuff that smelled like mold or mildew. Of course, that didn’t stop us, lol.
These days, I’d be afraid to even fool with most of it, too many chemicals, sprays, and manipulating the genetics with additives that are not safe.
And that’s not even talking about the other poisons they lace it with.
I wouldn’t trust anything from anywhere tbh.
All weed is gonna have some level of mold, heck any plant. It's in the air. There is nothing wrong with trace amounts, your immune system will take care of it. Hell I live in an old house in Florida. I breath in mold all the time.
I was going to say the same thin, been smoking for 40 yrs and never had a problem and yes even smoked the moldy weed buried with intent and think it came from the Anarchist Cookbook actually, also how we figure out how to make green oil, and honey (sativa) or cherry (indica) oil with butane then take the remainder to make green oil to get what we missed with butane

No shady for-profit BS from private businesses, all the grower ops have to comply with a strict guideline, quality is consistently very high... It's well known the mohawks can do whatever they want on their reserve, but from past experience product was often shit. And growing your own still is illegal in QC. I'll take 15 minutes to the SQDC any day of the week. And keep in mind I don't buy the cheapest they have. There's buds for 4$ a gram at the SQDC too, I just like the better stuff.

Awesome video. That's the way to do it. Get more people growing at home. They might buy some recharge or dots. Or being willing to pay more for better quality from legacy market and avoid nasty dispo stuff.
Speaking of cannabinoids and terpenes, everything that I've ever gotten from dispensaries has been screened off, greatly affecting the potency of the cannabis. You can't find anything in the dispensaries that still have the sticky hairs on it.
I think it's because it's below 0.3 THC to comply with federal guidelines. I always hear the rationalization that the thca will convert when heated, but I don't think it works the same way as bud that has been grown and cured the normal way and has much more THC already converted.

All Rec and medicinal dispensaries in legal states are federally unlawful, they sell marijuana and that’s banned under the CSA.
You’re talking about THCa flower below .3% THC which is considered hemp and therefore federally legal. And yes THCa always coverts to THC when heated, this isn’t a debated fact. All THC from cannabis plants starts off as THCa, THCa is the acidic precursor to delta 9 THC.
It is Delta 9 THC it just needs to be decarboxylated to become active, that’s just a fancy way of saying removing a Carbon. All Flower including federally illegal Marijuana is just high ‘THCa flower’. In legal states they simply don’t care how much THC there is, that’s the only difference.

There’s 1 company in NJ that every brand they have every strain taste like haze. I was banned from there IG page for asking what remediate with cause it make everything taste like haze. They didn’t like that me as a customer knew about mold remediation in general

Fam w/ medical need. Dispo was selling some natural old school - were pressured and sold dispo. Tried several strains from new owner that made us sick - asked the owner about it, and he yelled to get out of his store and never come back.
If mold can not form I'd suggest humidity below 60 percent. Lots of wind and mold can not form then the five oh two's and extra time drying too so you don't seal it in a package 😜 when it is to moist...
I wonder if this contributed to my sudden cannabis intolerance. Dispo weed makes my body have crazy painful sensations and makes my blood pressure go through the roof. I didn't have this problem the last three years of smoking but now I literally cannot smoke at all. It puts my body into a crazy reaction and completely ruins the high. I've tried carts, bud, dabs. All gives me this reaction. Maybe I'm suddenly allergic? Makes me sad :(
Me too!!! I've smoked for years and all of a sudden developed the cannabis intolerance as well. I used to have an amazing plug but after they left I started going the dispo route and began to notice it was way less "medicinal" and made me anxious and have rapid heart rate. I miss the good ol flower so much

Yep, out here in Texas some of the butt makes you nauseated, and super anxious, I mean it smells fire, but, it’s so damn different than what it was 20 years ago when it used to smell like, a skunk that you would pass on a road
We dont go to the dispo, anymore. We grow our own and press it. We live in AZ and the rec tax is frigging 24.5%.

@@DesignCutters Not sure if they are still around, but when I used to grow 15 years back, Attitude Seedbank would ship pretty much anywhere. They would stealth pack if you requested and did a great job of it. Might send you a novelty ashtray and stuff the seeds in the corrugation of the box if you wanted extra stealthy or they would send you packaged seeds. There were a few others as well that were good but Attitude was the biggest. I imagine you can buy them locally rather than importing them from the UK but there was a huge selection and no real issues with ordering it.

I've been growing for 6 years. I ALWAYS rinse my buds in water with peroxide, it helps the shelf life, and helps it dry more evenly.
I was never a fan of bud washing, but some people swear by it.

I just watched your video on pot sizing...i got a question for you...say im using an auto pot system and i want to use grow dots for my plant... the auto pot delivers water from the bottom... should i put all the grow dots on the lower half of the pot??? Im afraid the plant wont be at full potential and will slack in nutrients if some of the grow dots never hit liquid to dissolve correctly cause there sitting at the top half of the pot...
Most plants have fungi integrated into their cell structure. When the plant is cut and the fungi can take over and cause fermentation normally .

It’s definitely not new. Been working in the industry for 6 years and when I started it was discussed as an option commonly. Most facilities have one on hand and always keep it in their back pocket. It was borrowed from the herb and spice industry. All big brand dried herbs and spices are ran through them to keep everything shelf stable. With herbs and spices we eat in small quantities this is not an issue. When you’re inhaling the combusted material of said product, it’s potentially a whole other story.
I live in Mountain View California and several years ago (pre pandemic) I noticed the dispensaries were starting to sell 35 - 40% thc and when I smoked it, it seemed more like 23% but I shook it off as just being critical, although I wasn't feeling good after smoking it. It left me feeling anxious and head achey. Then I saw a class action lawsuit against the dispensaries over forging the % numbers and then with $50 minimums before tax and the tax was 59% (excise 39% state 91/4% city 10%) it was over priced bunk. I simply stopped smoking until my friends started growing and that was good stuff, so that's where I've been at.
Used to build green houses for a living. Every single one for cannabis had at least 2 of these. I think in Australia its part of the safety code to send it through before packaging.
Last items for my first grow tent arrived today so only a couple more months of relying dispensaries thankfully.

Theyve been remediating flower in vegas for a while.
Alot of companies have been allowing their quality to drop because they can remediate it.
I asked dispensaries if they were required to label remediated flower and they had no clue what i was talking about.
In my time doing extracts and working with other companies i learned alot of companies use food grade terps and add it to vapes and rosin vapes to increase the amount.
to process so vapes you need to heat it to the point that is cooks off the terpenes
Well in Nevada they have some law about vapes thc% and one gram. So if ya get get a one gram vape cart you can bet your sweet rear it’s diluted with terps.

You can only add terps back if you extract the cannabis. Also, "derived terps" are not harmful if extracted properly.
I remember back in the day buying a pound of bud that had mold and I had a hell of a time selling it obviously and I must have smoked a good half of that pound and I got the worst lung infection and now to this day I am more prone to lung infections whenever I get sick, which is very rare but it does happen
Don't buy flower from a dispo but UV sterilization shouldn't damage or altar the bud. A lot of different food processing and dairy use UV, especially when Covid started.
I recall in 2010 they started selling terpenes in little jars for like 40 dollars and you could add it to the blackest of oil and it gave it the best taste and I thought it was a game changer, but i was horribly wrong

been growing my own and smoking it for 60 years never had a problem and only had to buy it a few times in my life.
How much do you grow? I always had to hide my grows and never got more than a pound and that takes 6 months or more. Not enough to last a whole month.
@@Steve-ev6vx I grow 6 plants outside and I smoke day and night 24 7 and have way more then I need you can grow 6 plants legal why would you need to hide them. I start mine April 15 and pick them the end of September I just use shake and feed every few weeks and it works wonders just make sure to stay on top of the worms and it is all good. you can use seeds or buy top notch plants at the weed store for around 15 dollars each. like I said forget about everything else shake and feed every few weeks and stay on top of the worms you will be swimming in it. trust me I have been growing for over 60 years.i don't top mine or anything just pull off the dead leafs and don't mess with them water every few days never start your plants outside until April 15 or they might try to turn back to mails. you should get a pound or more off each plant 6 pounds for under a 100 dollars ain't bad. just make sure to stay on top of the worms .you can use worm spray it dose help but stop 3 weeks before you pick. wishing you the best. I use 6- 30 gallon bags but it is better to plant them in the ground.

I haven't been to a dispo since 2019. Here in RI rec has a 20% tax, medical has a 7% tax.
Degradation of the goodies is the only potential problem I see. It's probably cleaner than a lot of bud that hasn't been nuked. I'm sure a lot of stuff probably still gets through with the small sample sizes they test.
Before the ozone, the technology was irradiation. Apparently it's cobalt 60 which has a radio active half life of 5 years. Pretty sure they still do this in Canada. Melted trichomes. They're machine is by a company called Willow industries.
I've seen a few videos that mention this machine re introduces terps. They make it smell good and taste good. Feels like maybe it would ruin the excitement of trying new genetics if you can just make anything smell /taste the way you want. Paying high shelf prices for ditch plants also seems concerning.

I grow my own in living soil. No pesticides. I lose some terps because I use a harvest right freezer to cure, but i know my product is clean. I then press to rosin all inhome, and I know what is in my medicine. I see stuff from dispensaries that I know has had post-production lab work done to it. They can all cut coners. I do not.
Single source is the best weed you can get.
How do u know if you grow it it dnt have mold ? Even if they are the most passionate grower in the world can still get mold or an issue when they dry n cure it so i dnt see how either is safe now
When I grow it i know what goes into it. As I learned to grow, dry and cure, I learned to watch out for signs of mold and can scope the plants and take a good look.
