Mainly reefer, tankers, and flatbed makes the most money ,, being an owner operator is a bad idea their struggling these days and only the ones that managed their money is making it, it's best to be a company driver
No they most definitely CAN and DO !!! UPS, yellow freight, few others, here in NYS where I live the guys hauling thruway doubles make 150k top guys, but anyone that been there five r six years can pretty easily do 110/120k.... I've personally made over 100k driving triaxle roll offs or lowboys here in NYC . ....now I'm a heavy construction superintendent and my triaxle dump guys get 50/hr. That's well over 100k w OT
Yeah its the feeder driver position after 5 years at UPS and the road driver position at FedEx...pays the big bucks if you can stand to work for companies like that. I worked for a similarly ran company for 2 years I just can't stand the micromanagement and someone up my ass all day long. Made 100k+ but I went back to making 85-90k for the freedom. Worth it. Much rather just do my job and go home than work in a corporate environment.
No... not everyone is making $100K easy at UPS. Pay starts at 21 an hour with overtime after 8 and tops out at 40.50 an hour after 4 years. So 4+ years at one company to start making $100K per year which is similar to any other carrier. UPS is honestly great and I'm pretty sure they have a union as well so I would defo recommend it to drivers but, let's not exaggerate and say everyone is making $100K starting.
@gill22 of those you dispatch for, grossing at and over $250k/year, do you know what they are driving? Are there any trends such as between power, fuel savings, or age of truck? The cheapest entry appears to be a freightliner, but cheap always comes with its own costs.
LTL drivers make a lot also. Maybe more headaches with management, but I've made over 115k a year for the past 5 or 6 years. Now is the time to get. Most companies hiring at top rate or giving bonuses due to driver shortage. Home daily is really nice.
Hey buddy I have 6 months class a experience driving a 53 foot trailer and 1 1/2 year class b experience. I’m thinking about going back to driving a class a. What LTL company do you think will take me?
Currently in the process of getting my tanker and hazmat so I can haul fuel. Found a company that only requires a year of experience and the endorsements so I'm hoping I can get that job or maybe find another company that can pull me on.
Hi gill , i just started working as a dispatcher in a local company. your videos are helping me a lot to know about transportation. Can you plz suggest me any videos or material to explore this field.
Sat sri akal Prabhdeep! There are so many videos on RUclips with false information regarding the trucking industry that it’s hard for me to make a recommendation. The best way to learn about the field is through slowly doing the work as a dispatcher. Look at trucking news on FreightWaves, continue to watch videos from sources you trust, and just try to learn something new everyday while working as a dispatcher. That would be the best and fastest way to really learn the industry in my opinion.

HI MAN I LIVE IN KENYA AFRICA AND I CAME ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL , I AM INTERESTED IN TRUCK DISPATCHER IN USA .I AM CURRENT A BROKER BUT I WANT TO START TRUCK DISPATCHER FROM WHERE I AM NOW SERVING USA .IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO IF I AM NOT IN USA AND IF SO HOW DO I START.
It’s definitely possible to dispatch in the US even if you don’t live here. I’ll probably make a whole video addressing how you can dispatch loads but the process for doing so is relatively the same whether you live in the US or in another country!
Good video but your research is flawed, heavy haul and oversized drivers make great money also cattle haulers etc, good video anyways but do a little more research next time 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Again! Great video 🔥 in my city the next formation start in September so I've to make a decision soon!! I'll be easier if I was in the US !! If someone read this in Canada 🇨🇦 please reply!! I need to know if we can find good rate for loads here ✌🏼😎
Glad I came a cross your channel! I'm just getting started as a dispatcher, and am hoping to pick your brain on a few things? I did also reach out via email BTW, but wanted to try and communicate with you here also. Love all the new info I'm learning through your videos!
I'm downloading your resume template, I just now got my CDL with zero experience and I'm about to get one of those tanker endorsement put on it. Hoping to land one of those fuel hauling jobs in Texas that you talked about. I'll move from FL if I have to. Are any of those hiring new drivers ? what are my best options ? need those 150k - 250k type jobs.
Hello Adryan, at the moment all of our company driver positions are covered. I would recommend applying for a company driver position on our website and when a position opens up, I will email you about it.
You won't need a spreadsheet for that! Just look up the max capacity your allowed to carry for the size of your trailer and use that as a guide. You want to avoid loads that start reaching that max load capacity because they will be very taxing on the health of your truck/trailer and the diesel expenditure will be very high. But, sometimes, you have to take those loads when nothing else is available.
Hey, Can I buy a truck and hire a driver while I give him loads. I don't have CDL. Will it be profitable and how do I learn and get into this game. Thanks in advance
HELP! : I just got my clp last friday. I'm struggling to find a company to get on with that help with getting all your endorsements(road test wise) if you all have any suggestions please leave a comment below. Thanks in advance.
