I love the tribute to the Blues, man! I love fishing for them. I take a micro jig out on the north pier at Sebastian, and SLAY them! I had many days last year where it was just non-stop for upwards to five hours or so. I just about limped back to my truck one day with all of my gear, so sore from the Blues and Jacks that I could hardly even lift my right arm. Epic times, and an epic species. Cut every little piece of red out of their meat also, and they're absolutely delicious.
I love your commitment to the baitcaster reels. I have several and I love them, but I've not mastered them yet. I have plenty of spinning reels too. Great video. I feel your pain on the weather too...I live in the ocala national forest area and the weather had been mostly cold fronts and wind.....I've done better in the salt water than I have in the fresh water but the wind keeps me shallow.
All I can say is… another awesome video Aaron. This is about the fifth time I have heard you say “ I suck at fishing “. If that in fact is true, there is no hope for me 😂😂😂. Stay safe out there brother!
You absolutely sold me on the dark matter psychedelic rods I ordered the gunmetal P7C-X and I'm gonna give the 13 fishing concept C2 a try. Love the high gearing for fast retrieval. I'm excited to try it out. They look a bit more heavy-duty than my Lews inshore set up.
@@AbenzFishing would love to fish the river with you some time Gain some knowledge about SLR Gain a new fishing buddy Much love, keep up the wonderful work. Cheers
I have caught gator blues from Long Island down to South New Jersey. Largest was 18lbs. I have never caught a Big Jack like you have in Florida on your videos. In your opinion, pound for pound, which one gives a better battle?
Unrelated to the Blues but I just watched one of your older vids where you mentioned you once caught a jack crevalle over 50 pounds! How much drag did that massive sob scream?
Dude - it was only one time I got one I truly believe was that big. It was 54” and the fifth time on an 8000 Stella was 20 min with 60# braid and 80# top knot
Depends where and what I’m throwing. I use 12-25’s a lot for snook when I throw 4-6” spooks, fingers, pilchards, etc. I wouldn’t combat fish with it though.
Bluefish are the biggest sh*tfish that can be had on Long Island. They are about the size of your leg. The sizes you're catching we call cocktail blues or just snappers. You can throw a beer can on a hook and they'll attack it. I don't know anyone up north that eats them - they are oily, very fishie tasting and bloody. They swim in schools and put up a heck of a fight. They get rather annoying when fishing for Striped Bass (which are also bigger than your leg).

Couldn’t have said it better myself, clean that blood line and they’re good and fight hard 🤙🏻
Nice to see another person respecting the Blue fish! Truly underrated, just like this channel
Thanks man! They’re a super fun fish to target!

It’s been a tough year, super wet, and cold winter for us down here. Also windy, thanks for watching though! Love me a baitcaster

Hahaha just a little hard on myself sometimes, thanks for always tuning in and dropping a comment. I always look forward to reading them.
This guy's the goat 🔥

I feel like Jacks are our MOST underrated fish but either way, Blues deserve more appreciation too

That’s awesome. So far I’m LOVING these rods man. Can’t go wrong with
Good vid. Damn Abenz is lookin jacked!! 💪
Thank you 🙏🏻
I definitely miss catching some blue fish! Used to catch some from the rocks in Brazil. I guess they prefer not so hot waters and rough seas.
That’s awesome they were all the way there
Caught a 15lb bluefish last Thursday at Sebastian inlet south pier.
Nice Action 💯
Thanks!

Love Floridas blues get some nice ones in Sarasota
Super under appreciated - we had an amazing run of giants this year. Unfortunately I never made it out to run the beaches for them

Dude so good!

Jack definitely fight harder but bluefish are more acrobatic- I’ve seen them jump like tarpon and air out for a Topwater
Thanks for the information. I want to get one of those jacks next time I’m in Florida. Keep up the excellent content.

Insane! 12-25 pounders wear me out, I can't imagine a 50 for 20 min.
Bet those forearms were toast!
Would you use a 12-25 for snook or is that too light?

Nice! What is the name of that spook?
It was the “abenz” spook but we’re sold out. Should have more soon!
we catch a lot of blues here in CT. lb for lb what is comparable to the native FL fish for fighting?
They are pretty similar to snook, they fight similar. Jack seem to be stronger.
@@AbenzFishing excellent good to know. Yeah Jacks are thick. Blues are fun to catch.
So Zman really is impervious to blues?
I wouldn’t say impervious, but definitely the best choice
