You commented on our canal bream video recently; only just subbed you! Great channel mate. This video is fantastic! Had some great days on the silvers on Ribble, having only just started fishing it this year in such low conditions not had much luck on the bigger stamp of fish.
thanks for that! you probably know this stretch as a Wigan AA member, I intend to try it for silvers a little later on in the autumn. Hopefully a drop of rain coming and the prospect of a Barbel, this time for me with a bit of luck! just got another out from a recent weeks hol on the Isle of Mull. take care 👍
Thanks man! Just lost all my files when my external hard drive crashed ! Glad it wasn't before I got this out! I must give the barbel a go again but I dislike ledger/feeder/static fishing so my options are limited! Hopefully one coming soon on ribble/Darwen junction, roach and dace trotting.
@@soultrader57fishingandmusi25 nice one! Big bloody barbel down there too! I’m going to be doing a lot of moving / roving float and rolling meat videos soon! I also love the mobile approach
What a great vid. Great job. Thoroughly enjoyed it. That place looks stunning (as usual). The music, sound quality and editing on the first half was awesome. Nice to see a river flowing and well done on the fish. Did you enjoy it more than you thought you would?
What a comment! Thank you so much!! For the past 20 years I've been obsessed with fly fishing through spring and summer, with coarse fish largely put aside for winter. this year I'm ringing the changes! I had a handful of barbel many years back in summer low water freelining meat, so I thought I'd give it a go again, although I'm not familiar with this stretch. It's a lovely bit of water, only £40 a year, and not hard fished in low water as night fishing isn't allowed. You wouldn't believe its only 3 miles from Preston City centre! Started doing more the filming on my phone, especially intros and breaks etc. Got a little pocket tripod for it too. But totally cocked up the selfie shot. Still instead of vid 🤣
It was the phone I tried to do the selfie vid on next time it'll be in the mini tripod ready! the headcam was running all the time. But to see fish held you have to pull the angle down, I always forget 🤣😭 👍
I agree! very similar, I usually fly fish, but now and again I like a change. One or two experts have had sizeable barbel from the Ribble, using a heavy caddis approach with fly tackle. I had a decent chub last year from this bit on a bead-head nymph last summer, but no Barbel so far! one day.........
I have to be careful what I say about clubs on utube, if you look me up on Facebook I'll pm details. Lots of inexpensive club water from £40 to £150 a year on the ribble but a bit limited day ticket wise. Thanks for your comment 👍
Sorry only just got round too watching this, what a cracking session some great chub !! .
Well done that man ..
Cheers Col! I'll take you down there if you fancy the ticket, £40 season. Some nice fly water too. Wait till you see the next one! 🤣
@@soultrader57fishingandmusi25 sound good 👍 never had a barbel

I felt your pain on that 1st barbel take. Great show!❤

Well done pal. At least you had your phone even if the selfie video didn't work out lol

You should give euro nymphing a go it’s basically the same as this

7 minutes into the video, that swim looks awesome for trotting. What membership is it you need? you said it was £40 for the year.

@@soultrader57fishingandmusi25 do you mind if I sent you a message on Facebook aswell ?
Is this up near dinkly bridge
No mate, further down, not far from Preston. I cant go into too much detail but its open membership club water, like much of the lower Ribble.
