Seeing how it's getting set up, you might want to consider blacking out all of the back windows, not just for the TV, but for saving your LEGO from light damage.
He has sheets of 3/16 coroplast in the windows, the light you see is heavily defused and in no way can UV get through that plastic material. It also doesn't yellow for several years so it will remain white for a long time.
I was thinking the same. I'm not sure the window coverings block enough uv to stop it from discoloring plastic/bleaching printed cardboard (if sealed sets are stored on top for any length of time).
It blocks enough but in theory, if he's not using the windows, they should just be blocked out. Not a fan of covering the windows but it's not my studio :)
Awesome work Bricksies. It did make me chuckle seeing how the first load looked so small in the warehouse after seeing how it filled your garage! Gives a great perspective on how much space you know have!!!
First of all I wanted to say I'm in tears of joy just to see where you came from and where you are right now it is a big progress just to see you moving in your Lego studio something that you've been dreaming about over the years now it's the beginning from here and on now brother Jordan now is up I am proud of you best of luck on the new studio the twins and the wife I am praying for your family everyday and now your dream came true👊🔥💛💛💛💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars
Don't worry about the layout at the moment as no doubt you will change it a dozen times before you get it how you want it. Dont stress about the move, just have fun and think of all the new building you will be doing soon. Keep Brickin.
Get some of the industrial wrap we use to wrap pallets in warehouses and wrap the bill bookcases with the Lego in it to save time and be safe while shipping. They might break a little but that’s always gonna happen when transporting Lego.
Two thoughts: 1. A major thank you to Josee for all the unsung hero work she’s been doing.👍👍👍 2. Enjoy setting things up, but don’t worry. It’ll evolve over time. Looks great so far.
I would definitely look into a sleeper sofa, the ones that can pull out in to a bed. Just in case you or the kids want to take a nap when they are over at the studio
Hi Bricksie. Wow! Your mezzanine workspace looks amazing. I love it. So much space to work and relax at times too. Good luck with all the trucking of the sets. I think your plans for the move across are very well thought out. Hope the twins enjoyed swimming.
Moving is stressful. What I would suggest would be to store some of your sets in the shelves on the mezzanine while you move the Lego across and set up some tables to store Lego on while you get the shelving sorted out in the rooms. If you have some large plastic boxes to put your builds in they will be better than cardboard as they are more robust. The shelves in your basement are pretty full up so it will be quite a job moving them over.
What a great first day of moving. Taking your time is the best decision. Gives you the flexibility to make decisions on where things go and not having to move things over and over again because you are being rushed. I would think the open area on top could be a flex area where you plan layouts. Or maybe even a play area for the kids. You don't have to rush to fill it up. I love that you moved the parts bins to be on top of the tables. It makes it so much easier to access the bottom drawers without needing to bend over all the time.
Have you thought about hanging a curtain under the staircase, to create a makeshift room for all that packing stuff? I bet it would be an easy install and then poof, another closet! You're an inspiration, Jordan. 😄
What a huge day! Congrats! You've worked hard to get here. I am kind of surprised you didn't also get the medieval scene and those shelves moved out of the way. I would be super paranoid squeezing through there so many times with my hands full!
Good move with all the tables and all the lego parts. Don't forget to say thanks to Josee for all her works she is doing. Hope your kids also survived and enjoyed their first swimming lessons. 😀
I would center the TV on the wall closer to the kitchen, and move the black shelves somewhere else, maybe closer to the kitchen if there is space or on either side of the TV. If not center on that wall, it should be far enough away if you want to expand the lego parts wall all the way to the end, and have access to the parts and have enough space to roll the work tables. Or simply change that corner where the TV currently stands into a play corner for the kids. Maybe get that modular sofa the kids recently got :) Lots of options, but TV in the corner is personally not my cup of tea. I also don't know how good the carpets are with water spillage, but I would concider a plastic mat under the fridge and watercooler to collect spilled water and condensation to save the carpet from water damage. I love all that you've done to the place, and look forward to some more Lego building. Whatever you end up doing, do what is best and most practical for you :)
Loving the progress dude - definitely an epic move - just a thought to make your move more efficient. Do like you mention and bring all the city stuff to the studio, but leave the city tables at home for a minute. Move all your built sets from the shelves onto the city tables. Then move all your shelves in. After that move all the built sets in and place them directly onto the shelves, while leaving the city stuff in the center. This will open up the basement so you don’t have to worry about breaking any sets while you move the city tables and will open up the area by the stairs in the basement to move the large city tables. Then everything is at the new studio and you can tinker away without having to hang onto the U-Haul van while assembling tables etc.
I'm thinking the parts would be better as a double sided wall in the middle to provide some privacy, could see a lego group in your future! Also you may want the access to the windows.
Looks unreal amazing. I could see a huge center 4 table on wheels that you can move around. That can be your build station. That way you can build one master mock or 4 smaller ones at same time. Oh make sure the light from those windows does not bleach out the parts. Might make sense to black out those windows
I think it could be pretty cool to put the "living room" area in the middle space So have the entire perimeter be storage and desk space, and keep the middle space for one half living room and one half with a huge building surface. When you would chill on the couch, you would be in the middle of the open space, as opposed to being kind of crammed in a corner
Looking amazing! But i think you should get another space for the sealed sets like under the stairs! Só u can put the tv against the wall ( where the pc was) and the couch in front! Amazing job! All the way from Portugal
Looks better and better every day. I’m sure this has been mentioned by others, but wouldn’t it be sweet if you had a dumbwaiter like device that can transport loads of lego from ground floor to mezzanine and back in the push of a button?
Seeing your work from day 1 is very impressive, and you’re living the dream of AFOLs..I really like your video, not only reviews, but constant changes on city etc..keep up the good work..both the kids is so adorable..sending love from Malaysia
Loving following this journey mate I know you said the tv will prob move but it prob needs to be more central against that wall rather than cornered. Am sure couch will be set facing that wall rather than angled to face the corner as that would look a tad strange. The couch will make the big void in the middle of the room seem better I am sure
i would place the tv agains the wall where the black shelves r then the sofa facing it kinda sperates the work space beind the sofa and the lounge space infront with the tv and kitchen area u can easly put some shelves on the back of sofa to hold sealed sets
The genuine excitement in intro to this video is amazing. The sheer joy you have to move in is palpable and as I’ve commented before I cannot wait to see what you do with the place. Initially, and going forward for many years to come! Congrats man.
13:59 The shelving units for the sealed sets looks cohesive with the black tv and the trash can. Yellow boxes on the shelves will pop!! Good choice for even a little bit. But you can always use them in the first 2 rooms or take them apart and put them under tables. 16:14 You can get a sectional couch and make a corner. Or get another couch like your kids have and play around with that layout.
You can easily change the hinges on the refrigerator to have the doors open the opposite way. Just a simple screwdriver. Everything looks good. Love the videos.
Also a truck? Why, you could just move the city over time. Also during winter, the basement is gonna still come in handy for building and reviewing sets. As it's too cold to travel at times.
i hope to watch your city and project for the next 10 years man',your so cool and "lucky" cause its not luck its work, but that place is great!everything is awesome!
I get clearing the tables to move the lumber, but you might want to consider after the city is out of the basement, use that space to set all your display sets, move and place the cabinets in the new studio, then bring the display set over so you dont run breakage risks.
I would use Command strips for the art again. They worked really well before from what you said, so why change? They're probably easier on the walls than nails too.
Something I think would be cool and functional, would be to have different themed mini fig murals painted on the window covers. Imagine a black space background with the blue astronaut mini fig on one and maybe a knight on another? Would also help blackout the sunlight.
Even with those window coverings, there is sunlight shining into those transparent containers onto parts. Not sure if it's strong enough to damage those parts or not.
Studio looking great. As for the upper level i wouldnt rush to fill all that space putting stuff in the middle. Keep some clear space. Youll end up feeling boxed in again. Lots of space is good, freedom to move around.
Maybe move the computer over in front of plug and buy one of those 6 plug adaptors to go on existing wall plug. Could eliminate extension cords altogether and make computer area cleaner looking :)
Mayby a glass coffe table in front of the future couch by the TV. Then you could have the UCS Millenium Falcum inside the table with a docking bay scenario.
Stretch wrap is your friend. Easy to use, cheap, and keeps things together and in place. I wouldn’t even think of doing a move like this without using it.
Hi Jordan, just a thought. Turn the Billy bookcases upside down. then take out the shelves that are below desk level and add the Billy cupboard doors to create hidden storage. Store the removed shelves on top of the bookcase hidden inside what is currently the base. That will clean up your under desk area/look. Then get some white laminated boards, similar to the current tables of the lego city and fix it to those wooden roof rafters at the top of the bookcases to finish up the top and give a clean white background behind whatever lego sets you end up displaying on top. Hope that helps?
Your mural is so good that I forgot you had a huge garage door, I spent the first few minutes of the video thinking about how much of a pain that would be to bring everything in through the regular sized front door haha. Very excited for this process!
Only the one sorting tower had a little mix up that's good. Great job getting them across safely, guess you don't have many speed bumps to navigate or pot holes. Wheres the bed going to go? Could you add a small shelve opposite the coffee station and some fold-able bar stools for a breakfast bar maybe look down on the city while eating. Put a safety gate across the kitchen area and stairs, and leave some space free for the kids. Eiffel tower in the middle with some Christmas lights wrapped around it?
Wow! So cool to see more Lego in the new Studio. Can’t wait to see you build new MOCs in there. Since you have so much space, wouldn’t it be an idea to arrange your parts tables and drawers in a U-shape? You could then roll your chair in it and your building table and then you can work 360 degrees and have everything in an arms length distance available. Looking forward to see more!
Exciting changes, I like the idea of placing the sofa, but I think you should cut off the area with the sofa and TV from the tables and sets, while making more space between the sofa and the TV (because you have a lot of it there now) I think that your storage room is too small if you want to accommodate all the things that are in your storage room under the basement stairs, plus all the things for packing shipments and any additional boxes from sets or pieces of wood... Currently, you have placed things for packing parcels under the stairs, I think that you could build a cupboard with shelves there especially for them, adjusted to the space under the stairs, and additionally move the Lego sets you sell there to have them close to you, creating a zone typical for business and packing parcels ( close to the storage room) by adding one medium-sized table there and the only thing away from this zone will be the computer these drawers with parts, I think it would be better for you to increase the height by reducing the space in which they are located, these white Alex modules with drawers, I think they are ok but in smaller quantities because they are not practical, they are not transparent, you can't see what parts are in them they find... it's better to buy transparent, plastic drawers. as for the space upstairs, it's better to leave it after building the tables for the city and putting in all the cabinets in the rooms (which, if I were you, I would put them in front of the tables for the city), you will reduce the space, just like in the basement, if you leave an empty space on the first floor, you will leave a space in which you will not feel clastrophobic, or you can put tables on wheels there that you can always move or untangle as for moving the city elements to disturb the table, it's a very good idea on your part As for the storage room, why don't you just use the shelves you currently have in the basement above the tables? I think this is a good solution.
People always underestimate sizes when in a new space. Either "this will be plenty" or "this might be tight" and inevitably it turns out they were way off. It' either way more than they think, or way less. I think when you get the city table in you'll be overwhelmed on how to fill it all up, it will be acres of empty space.
Hey, just a suggestion. Put the black shelf on the opposite wall, couch goes in the corner, L shaped, tv mounted on the wall with the moving arm above the spare pcs or tv goes on a table with shelves underneath to store/hold Lego on one side. But it actually serves as a tv stand.
In australia they yellow straight out of the box . Block the light
Won't the LEGO become discouloured by the sunlight from those windows behind the drawers?
I was thinking the same. I'm not sure the window coverings block enough uv to stop it from discoloring plastic/bleaching printed cardboard (if sealed sets are stored on top for any length of time).
It blocks enough but in theory, if he's not using the windows, they should just be blocked out. Not a fan of covering the windows but it's not my studio :)
That’s a good question
@@kristophersteel i think he does it for safety. That thiefs dont know where the place is.
A big building table in the middle
In the center you could put a bunch of tables and that could be where your extra project is, like the mansion or the winter village
I was thinking the same thing, but since it is higher then the lego city, maybe something to do with Space or the moon
I would recommend getting an UPS for computer. It would protect it from power fluctuations and brown outs.
Awesome work Bricksies. It did make me chuckle seeing how the first load looked so small in the warehouse after seeing how it filled your garage! Gives a great perspective on how much space you know have!!!

Oh wow! So excited to see LEGO MOVING! Fantastic!
As a AFOL myself I can fathom how stoked you are and it shows. Really happy for you Jordan. Cheers to the new studio 🍻
The large open area would be a nice spot for your seasonal display
The turnaround time from getting the keys to your space, the renovation, and now moving in the Lego is so fast! Everything looks great!
Don't worry about the layout at the moment as no doubt you will change it a dozen times before you get it how you want it. Dont stress about the move, just have fun and think of all the new building you will be doing soon. Keep Brickin.
Hearing your joy from being in your new space is awesome. Always great to start fresh! Spring cleaning =)
Get some of the industrial wrap we use to wrap pallets in warehouses and wrap the bill bookcases with the Lego in it to save time and be safe while shipping. They might break a little but that’s always gonna happen when transporting Lego.
I keep thinking that in 50 years time, your grown up children and their children are going to have a blast watching all these!
The art would look so cool on the wall behind the stairs if you just fill it as one giant collage space!
the parts wall looks great
Two thoughts:

LETS GO! THE START OF A NEW ERA !
You can put a bigger table in the open space for when you get a bigger project.

Imagine if instead of the drawers you made your own PAB wall 😅 that might be a tad big haha. It’s great to see it all coming together.
If u make another diorama like the winter village and the medieval you could put it in the middle of the mezzanine
I think it could be pretty cool to put the "living room" area in the middle space So have the entire perimeter be storage and desk space, and keep the middle space for one half living room and one half with a huge building surface. You should hang a camera in the ceiling so you can check it out and have “satellite view” of the city
It would be a very good time to sort more parts. Bring a few sets in each day, spend most of the day sorting out parts + cleaning off dust
So excited that there is Lego coming into the new studio
Seeing your work from day 1 is very impressive, and you’re living the dream of AFOLs..I really like your video, not only reviews, but constant changes on city etc..keep up the good work..both the kids is so adorable..sending love from Malaysia
Jordan this is looking great and your children and wife are adorable, lucky man!!!!
I really like the new workflow with the table on wheels!
The day is finally here!! I can't believe how excited and giddy i am for it, I can only imagine the joy that this day has brought you!
Loving following this journey mate
I know you said the tv will prob move but it prob needs to be more central against that wall rather than cornered. Am sure couch will be set facing that wall rather than angled to face the corner as that would look a tad strange.
The couch will make the big void in the middle of the room seem better I am sure
I think it is smart to give yourself the truck for 2 weeks. To me this means more time, more patience and less damage.
All the best
Keep open space in center for kids or workshops or building together with guests, maybe topdwn camera for timelapses when building
i would place the tv agains the wall where the black shelves r then the sofa facing it kinda sperates the work space beind the sofa and the lounge space infront with the tv and kitchen area u can easly put some shelves on the back of sofa to hold sealed sets
It's going to be a lot of work but you both did a phenomenal job so far. This place fully setup is going to be unreal. Cannot wait.
Very nice the day has come! Time to relax and enjoy 😊
The genuine excitement in intro to this video is amazing. The sheer joy you have to move in is palpable and as I’ve commented before I cannot wait to see what you do with the place. Initially, and going forward for many years to come! Congrats man.
Mrs Bricksie is such a huge help!!! ❤❤❤
Surely now is the time to sort all them bulk parts and get ahead before getting settled in the new place
So happy for you! It feels like home more and more!
Daaaaang! It’s been so cool to follow this build out
Quite impressed by those Command Strips. Lego in quantity isn't light and they seemed to have held up very well. Go with what works instead of nails.
A new chapter - this city will be EPIC
You can easily change the hinges on the refrigerator to have the doors open the opposite way. Just a simple screwdriver. Everything looks good. Love the videos.
I've been loving these videos. I would love to see you document the basement transformation into the family basement on your other channel.
Also a truck? Why, you could just move the city over time. Also during winter, the basement is gonna still come in handy for building and reviewing sets. As it's too cold to travel at times.
That is a mountain of work! Your good planning should help the process go smoothly! Way to go and it looks terrific!
So excited for all the videos coming up! Please film all the moving and building of the office and the city etc! So satisfying ❤
It's so cool to see the progress! It looks awesome already!
This is so exciting. I love how all of this is coming together. Gonna be epic.
i hope to watch your city and project for the next 10 years man',your so cool and "lucky" cause its not luck its work, but that place is great!everything is awesome!
I get clearing the tables to move the lumber, but you might want to consider after the city is out of the basement, use that space to set all your display sets, move and place the cabinets in the new studio, then bring the display set over so you dont run breakage risks.
You need a mini lift to put Lego on to safety 🦺 lower down to the ground floor, I can imagine someone falling down the stairs.
Good luck jordon can't wait to see all those Legos in your studio
Now the journey REALLY begins!
I think you should put the couch in the middle
WOW! Sounds like you have thought through most of the plans for the next two weeks. It should keep you more than busy! 😊
I would use Command strips for the art again. They worked really well before from what you said, so why change? They're probably easier on the walls than nails too.
You two are amazing! What a great system of organization. It's going to come together beautifully.
You got a chuckle out of me when you said "I'm going to learn how to swim!"

You must do like 20k steps a day!!! Bring on the Lego!!!
hey man its looking amazing so fun too watch your progress
Only the one sorting tower had a little mix up that's good. Great job getting them across safely, guess you don't have many speed bumps to navigate or pot holes.

Dang that’s a lot of lego, dood must be loaded! 😮
I love building lego and watching your content!
You should move the black shelves in front of the window. Then put the tv where they were, then the couch won’t be at a wierd angle
Great vibes Jordan - it's been a great journey so far - and we'll be along for the rest of the ride!!!
Really professionalized from your hobby at home to your work at an external location. Really hope you’ll be able to keep the joy in it going.
Where are the spaces I put in the text to make it easier to read? Did RUclips remove them to fit the entire text?!
I cant edit it 😭
People always underestimate sizes when in a new space. Either "this will be plenty" or "this might be tight" and inevitably it turns out they were way off. It' either way more than they think, or way less. I think when you get the city table in you'll be overwhelmed on how to fill it all up, it will be acres of empty space.
I'm really looking forward to it. :)❤
Hey, just a suggestion. Put the black shelf on the opposite wall, couch goes in the corner, L shaped, tv mounted on the wall with the moving arm above the spare pcs or tv goes on a table with shelves underneath to store/hold Lego on one side. But it actually serves as a tv stand.
well maybe a kitchen counter putting there so that few items less messy for the coffeemachins
All that room it took up in your old lego room, bring it there and it doesn't take up much room at all.
