It needs the human element. Drunks, thugs, bums and whores, tired truckers, pot bellied cops. Disgruntled fry cooks, and sad waitresses. It would great if it exuded the smell of fryer grease, and cigarettes. In my 30s I ate at Waffle House, every day, when I worked 2nd shift, at a factory. The food was good, plenty of variety, and endless coffee refills. Back then you could smoke at your table..
Has anyone ever tried to figure out why miniature stuff is so cool? Like there has to a psychological reason why we love little tiny versions of things.
It's both forbidding and enabling It's forbidding you physical entrance due to it's small scale but visually promotes investigation in appearance. As possessive in nature we want to own and hold and control an item and respectively dominate in comparison to our own scale. Unlike full sale which allows us to enter this small scale allows us to hold it in our hands so to speak. Salesman samplers use this idea in prototype manufacturing where the model appears first as a visual concept.

People with new cars will also buy a small scale if possible and place it in a display case. Wanting to hold it in their hands. Also as a means of fulfilling a fantasy without buying a real one. Lighting Geeks Unite! Differing CCTs in the same space drive me bonkers. It happens way too frequently. Some business owners need a lesson as to how light levels and CCT help or hurt business. What's worse is HIGH CCT LEDs like they use in Asia. Anything above 5000K is too "blue" for my preference, 2700K to 3500K is the sweet spot for retail and general lighting.
Im speechless. This blew my mind. Could you take some more outside pictures but at dusk. This would let you see the illuminated interior and the dusk lighting would look awesome. . This whole thing is on another level! .

I've been a commercial HVAC tech for over 20 years. The only thing missing on the HVAC unit was a condensation line. Most of the time you just have a pvc trap coming out of the unit. I really appreciate your attention to detail.

I loved watching you build that model. I used to build scale models, and I enjoyed making them as realistic as possible. Worn a little bit,...aged by cigarette smoke. Even in the 1980s, you could buy at hobby stores, brick sheets, with adhesive backs. What didn't exist could be made from making color xeroxes, of realist floor tiles, scaled down. I have a friend, who made living building scale model buildings, for Architects. He made everything from balsa wood, painted realistically. Eventually, the computer age products, put him out of business. Architects didn't want spend thousands of dollars, on a realistic versions of the building they had designed, to show their clients. Then virtual reality programs were created, so instead of a realist scale models, they'd have realist drawings that came to life and interiors, you could move around within. All viewed on a computer.
Your attention to detail is impeccable! I know they use CGI a lot today, but they can still use something like you have constructed for shows and movies. Thank you for this awesome video!

The details matter! And all the little touches you put on this makes it come alive! If you have ever been on a plane you will understand how everything changes after that. Everything really looks like little models on the ground. First time I saw everything from really high up I was a kid. I kept some of that child like wonder with me into adult hood.
Amazing!! I began looking at all my local waffle houses on google maps street view to see how close you actually got to looking like them. Well, it turns out they actually have different styles, each one of them looks unique to one another. However, we do have one nearby that looks remarkably similar to this one! Some of them don't have the yellow sign at all, just brick up there with yellow or red letters. Some use red background up there. Some have no brick below the windows and no red outline up top. They're all different, but they all share similar design themes obviously. Anyway, i'm sure there's one somewhere that looks JUST LIKE this one! Very well done!

The gas pipe support blocks are called HEF-T-FEET which made the layout very authentic looking. Like wise with the electrical wiring, very realistic. If you ever do other building’s with RTU’s (Roof Top Units) please consider using Daikin Brand Logos. I’ll look forward to view other projects.
This build is so clean, which is simultaneously an incredible compliment and constructive criticism: Brickwork and imperfect interior arrangements make this incredibly convincing to the eye On other hand -- especially in locales where it rains somewhat often -- buildings get weathering and more grime coming down the sides of anything that overhangs. Even if you want a cleaner look, I think a very restrained application of weathering would bring that realism up a notch. Superb work
Your modal was a joy to watch being made. I did a doll house and used a lot of balsa wood for the base boards etc, I did find some brick paper at the doll house store, it really has a nice finish and is easy to apply. I did most of the paintings myself and used the balsa wood again for the frames. I also added ceder shingles on the roof. The house was Victorian and had lots of floors. Again love how realistic yours is. FAB!!
