With telling the time now as simple as tapping a home screen, it can be easy to forget that watches are machines of exquisite craftsmanship. Even the simplest of mechanical movements can have a mesmeric effect, with hundreds of individual parts ticking like, well, clockwork. And some manufactures go one cog further.
This race to the bottom of your bank balance has resulted in some of the most mind-boggling tickers ever made, most of which would require nothing short of a Rothschild inheritance to afford.

Imagine taking any of these watches to a horologist and saying "i need an oiling and a cleanup" i think they'd quit LOL
I've been a watch enthusiast for 45 years and had no idea the masterpieces of craftsmanship even existed. The hours, work, design amd quality is staggering. For those that say a mobile phone, an iwatch, a gshock can do more, have alot of disrespect and no apreciation for the amount of effort that has gone into these magnificent creations. These are works of art and beyond.
Saying other things can do more in NO WAY is disrespect to the craft that is mechanical watch making.
Saying a Tesla can do more than a Model A isn't insulting to the Model A. It's just stating facts. The fact is these watches are incredibly impressive, and have many cool functions, BUT any of the gadgets you listed can do more. That's not saying they're "better". We're talking about DOING.
Take care
Plus it's engineered with nothing but gears springs and pins. Truly amazing wheb you realize this was being done back in the 1700s.
How can anyone compare such things as clockwork with mobile phones!?!🤔
The exquisite beauty in the minute, handmade, clockwork parts is utterly incomparable.
So beautiful! 😘👌🏼
Exquisite craftsmanship and complicated designs with precision to details. 🤯 Truly a work of art, but with a purpose.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✌🏼❤️
I thought this video was made by a channel with 100k+ subscribers keep up the content 🔥
Thank You so much!

Seriously high quality content for under 1k subscribers!
We really need to get away from focusing on subscriber counts all the time. I understand why people do, money, popularity etc, but is it really that important? I guess it is to people. Anywzy, i liked this video. It's amazing what goes into these watches.
You're the type who assumes paying more means better and cheap means bad huh?
You shouldn't make such judgments, though what you're saying is nice, it's just not the best way to look at things.
Would have loved a long form version of this video where you went more in depth on these watches
Very interesting overview of the most complicated watches. Would it be an idea to make a video of each of these masterpieces to show you how all the functions work? And then also in slow motion, so that you can still follow it? And don't worry about those know-it-alls, just continue on your chosen path!
Thanks for your comment. It's a great idea but i should consider how can i describe it in 5 minutes
Do a watch repair in 5 min. if possible. Those vids are very interesting. Thanks very good vid!
First time I see five options that really make a difference, all very well chosen 👍👍👍👍
Great video just liked and subscribed. ✌️
Great list , nice reviews indeed. The patek Philippe grandmaster with two dials is just fascinating
Great Information. Keep it up bro.
Very unique and interesting information about watch machines, really appreciate your help to understand that craftsman ship is so presided, thank you so much for greatly sharing, good for your next steps, from India.
excellent! subbed.
To me, these things beat the heck out of computers and technology.
Amazing video
You deserve 100k subs at least lads, good content !
Magnificent
I appreciate the effort to pronounce brands and models correctly, these watches are mesmerizing
Astounding
The two pocket watches must be very uncomfortable to carry around. But I guess if you buy them you can also afford paying someone to follow you at all time and pass you the watch when you need to know the time (or whatever other thing the watch can tell you).
if it was me, I would have kept it in a private collection
Those are more an asset then something you actually use. Rich ppl put their cash into assets because of inflation. So someday when they sell it they should make a huge profit or pass it down to their kids and they sell it
Those watches will never truly be worn..just displayed.. And I'd do the same too tbh
)))))))))🤣🤣🤣
You just added another subscriber! Thank you btw..
Great! ♥️💯👍
Awesome video, hope your channel grows.
Nice
You should add the new jlc reverso with 4 faces
Maybe i should consider a new version of this video
Keep up the great work! Excellent presentation that I thought was from a much larger channel! You are going places if you keep this level up!
I disagree. Music is annoying and his accent is weird.

Dude this channel is so underrated but don't worry i will share this to my friends group
''number 4 this is the most complicated watch in the world''
3 mil dollar watch..... sure. lets give more tax brakes to billionaires !
I need 3 🤣
As complicated as a intellestelar UFO could be!
Seems like the most complicated we’re clocks and not watches
RUclips videos: showing multi-million dollar watches with 20 complications
Me with my $30 Chinese pocket watch: Interesting.
Joking aside, great video.
I've started watching some of these videos on watch repair and watch making, and I'm wondering about the use of the term "complicated" when it comes to watches. I would think it's more appropriate to use the word "complex", which to me implies a lot of parts (or procedures or whatever) that are designed to work well together, whereas complicated usually implies something that's unnecessarily difficult to understand. As a programmer, one can write poorly written code that gets the job done but is an absolute mess, or they can write complex code that does the same job, but is very efficient and well-organized and can be more readily understood. But maybe the term complicated has a different meaning when it comes to building watches.
The usage of the word “complication” is no innocent oversight. Ultimately the thing a watch is needed for in 99.9% of the cases is to tell minutes and hours. Everything else (yes second as well) is a complication that was developed more to flex and show social status than to really tell time.
@@rashakor Ha, wow, that's a great explanation! I immediately understood that on an intuitive level, and now the use of that word makes sense. It that context the word could be applied to any physical item or process that complicates its original intended purpose or goal, not just watch-making. Thanks.
Think of them as the Charme of Induction Derivatives, of Inboard Initial Face Parameter Mechanical Subroutines, of the rechargeable Beryllium spring.
If you ever make an update to this video I would like to know how much each watch weights. That #1 looks very heavy.
Maybe in an other video ;)
Beautiful and amazing ctrfmanship such amazing workmanship 🙂
I have an armitron, but I would like one of those
I think number’s 10, 9, and 7 are the only ones I liked.
All watches are exceptional in terms of their craftsmanship. But no watch looks good.
How about Filipo Loretti ?
The Krayon Everywhere is a modern day akatheric device. And should have been #1.
Costly car's and apartments look Cheaper 😁 while looking at the ''WRiST''

How are you gonna compare that magnificent piece to a Bentley.? This is more comparable to a pristine one to one first ever built Ford t model.
2:12 Source Video?
Just curious, is the person who responds to our RUclips questions here in the comment section the same person who speaks in this clip?? Because for some reason reading your responses, all I hear is a French accent while I process your responses lol
it's the same person ;)
I believe the world record is a phillipe patek with 123 complications. I might be wrong on the exact number but it's between 122 and 125 I think.
I think your are confusing with the Swiss Army Knife record.
My favorite A. Lange & Sohne number 1 i give cost 20000 £
My favorite too 👍
Wow great watches but very expensive, I have a watch not very expensive and battery type still strong after15yrs of use still the same time like the most expensive watch hihihi✌️
And here I am with my 16 dollars watch, haha silly me
Wow.....10 million dollars for a pocket watch
Well in that case, I can say Lamborghinis wouldn't worth it
what about the pixel watch?
I was expecting you’d mention Jacob and co astronomia casino wheel or one of his other complicated models
Jacob and co deserves a separate video ;)
Jacob & co are extreme original, creative, valuable and beautiful watches. But their complications are less in number and in complexity than this top watches.
Not sure if this was meant as a joke
@@alvarocuchacovich8166 Why are you saying this?
@@mathematicalmushroom4394 Hi, sorry for the delay in my answer. I agree with your previous comment (that they don´t have many complications), and add that they outsource their most complicated movements (they don´t develop traditional complications), that they are most known for their jewelery skills (beautiful case finishings, etc) and their automaton complications, which by some standards fall out of horological complications.
Great video
My $75 mobile phone has all these complications
None of which will work if the battery runs out or when it becomes obsolete and they stop supporting the firmware.
Gary is damn right! 😎
My Timex keeps good enough time for me to not miss a flight or train, and I don't have to get it serviced. I just throw it away and get another,
It's about the engineering and craftsmanship.
@@IN5MiN5IN Amazing video,man;
...It is,but some can wish those people dedicated their lives to some other thing, human kind could actually profit from, not to... tulip bulbs, sort of...
My Timex has ‘Made in Great Britain’ printed on the dial. Not many watches can say that nowadays!
@@AtheistOrphanSome have made in England on them, but those with made in Britain were made in Scotland.
@@Rog5446 - Oh I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yet any AP and Rolex watches did not make the list.
vacheron costantin celestial astronomical grand complication is number 1
My Casio G shock has more complications :)
Maybe i should add it to the list
The G Shock is certainly more complicated to operate. Dang, was it this button twice or both buttons three times?
Elon Musk might been planning to hired whoever the engineer behind these magnificent watches.
I mean rocket science is complicated and so are watches.
4:55 That Patek is not a watch. IT'S A CLOCK
All watches are clocks lol.
👏🏻👏🏻 👏🏻⌚
Who could like to put on wrist except no.2 and 1
yourself
I'm surprised, I haven't seen any Jacob & Co.
Because they aren’t nearly on the same level as any serious watch brand
🤯
last watch reads hebrew months... i guess it was commissioned
But can it show time?
Nope, It tells the time. You need an other device
can we call it a pocket watch if its 50mm thick?
i guess. if your pocket is large enough
I feel like if they can buy it their pockets at big enough.
I met with a friend at a mall and he was wearing a $1,000 Longines and carrying a Rolex in his shoulder bag. I guess he loves his watches. I rarely use my Tag Heuer. I mostly wear a 8 yrs. G-Shock. I might buy a Tissot though. I don't want electric watches for now. I want a winding watch.
If this world can do that complication, I wondering, what can do some other intelligent spices up there in universe?
They make humans 😁
@@IN5MiN5IN we also make humans
DId you include smartwatch in this list? I bet that beats them all. :)) Ask a craftsman to fix that lol
Some people buy a yacht for a few 100 000 or 1 000 000 dollars , but a watch ?
how do you actually set something this complicated lol
The master craftsmen should go their own way and train more apprentices. It's sad that the prices keep such beauty from being enjoyed more widely.
Seriously.. 2 million bucks for a watch?? Who would appraise such a ridiculous price for a timepiece.. idc what brand you got or make, no watch is worth 2 million tffff
@@jaycash8611 The last one was $10,000,000
@@jaycash8611 Bruh it is not "watch" but "art".
You could tell the same about everything then.
Paintings, clothes, you also have couches for some 100k $...
Price doesn't mean much itself because it depends on the demand...
Something can cost 5K€ and some years later be x100 or the opposite...
Everything is worth the price if there is someone who wants to buy it.
So expensive yet they do same thing tell the time
Didn‘t you watch the video?
03:40 the seconds hand came off? guess not...
Er, no.
The last two were clocks...
My gshock is crying watching this video
Where's the AP RO? Hahaha.
Strong Persian accent ;-)
Obviously because I'm Persian 😎
@@IN5MiN5IN good channel bro, keep up the good work.
Be nice if he spoke more clearly. Amazing watches.
The Hebrew Calendar in the Last Watch are Amazing

@@shahriarabdullahsiddique4925 Thanks mate
with all this beauty and work done,I just wonder why everyone rushes to have a disgusting Apple wtche.
Some people don't care about art and engineering
Reposted veido
the top two arent really watches tho, are they? you couldnt say they were pocket watches either! they are beautiful but they are just clocks. unless two year old children are holding them, they are enormous!
Pateck Philipe is the best ( 2st a.Lange & Sohnne
Huh, these are just for eye candy.
Engineering + Art
I can't believe Jacob & Co's Astronomia Sky isn't on here ☹️
💸
These are epic craftsman justofyingbthere price instead of thise diamond decorated cheap watches made expensive

Mean while ……each day more and more people die of hunger
It's too quick survey. No time for delight in details of craftmanship.
