Re: why I watch reactions.
1. To keep up to date of the latest music
2. To hear all of the stuff that I've missed when I listen to the music.
3. Hear an opinion on the music video, visually.
4. And also mostly when I watch you and and a few other react to stuff it feels like I'm sitting down with one of my boys having a laugh.
Agreed ^
Dont let comments on one video change your mood on doing reactions
This is my favorite channel for watching music reactions
Fr
Same here bro.
+1 on this one. I think this is generally the motives of people who enjoys reviews and likes watching you, Shaq, Melon and other reaction/review/breakdown channels
I agree with those 3. But I also like to watch reactions to songs that shocked me, so I can see how other people react to this stuff. Darness and Godzilla are good examples.
The "Hello Darkness, my old friend" sample from Simon and Garfunkel is deep. Not many samples go back as far as 1963 (The year Kennedy was assassinated, from a gun aimed from a window overlooking the excited crowd that was simply there for a day of fun, a celebrity having come to town). This genius stuff is 7 levels deep.
This comment hasn’t gotten enough love.
I don’t think many people caught the name on the pill bottle either.
Wow i thought it was coincidence, but im glad someone else noticed. The levels of depths in this song seem infinite.
Sound of Silence wasn't written about the Kennedy assassination, though. It was written *before* the assassination happened. However, Em could've very well just been referring to the commonly held, incorrect myth that Sound of Silence was written afterward.
@@MegaKat never said it was
I’m watching these reactions just to see the “ah hah” moment when people realize what this video is about.
This is my exact reason too. Great to watch when people 'get' it
Thank you finally someone understands.
@@taqmobile . Exactly.
Can u explain darkness please
Xman1212 exactly
No one seems to pick up one thing from Em perspective and this whole thing. Imagine being a music artist that attracts crowds of 10s of thousands each time...and hear about a shooting at a show. The anxiety each time you have a show, knowing it could happen and you are the reason they are there... just, you know...
Fuck man
I don't think he's that bothered. He made an insensitive verse about the Manchester bombing. Eminem has been bought by politicians.

The entire song is literally a double.. it’s almost written perfectly in a parallel type of way. Crazy
@Jeremy Campbell Yes. And pushing a false narrative of the story. Many unanswered questions, many time line holes.
@Jeremy Campbell lol what do you mean. If you think this song is pushing for change in the way the country is ran, then yeah. This world is fucked up
Yooooo I was saying the same shit the whole thing is a double fucken fireballs.even the video triple
It reminds me of what pac did on "me and my girlfriend".
It seems like he is talking about his girlfriend but he really talks about his gun.
@@TheIdiotChallenege the entire video is his opinion on how this might change. Yes its political but so is everything else right now.
Crypt... the entire song is a double entendre. There isn’t just a few scattered in the song.
I thought the double entendres were scattered until the scheme that starts at 4:48 on this video...fucking insane!!! Em’s the GOAT!!!
poet817 Nope. As the original commenter pointed out, the whole song is a double. It takes place in the mind of him, and the shooter. Him being the thought of “Oh shit… I’m nervous as fuck… I don’t know if my performance Will go well”. In the mind of the shooter basically almost the same except for like, instead of him saying “Oh shit I’m nervous for the performance”, he’s like, “Oh shit… I’m really going through with this”… You know what I mean? Sorry if it’s a confusing way of explaining things, I really suck at explaining. Lol.
@@BlindMelonLord I totally get that both have the same things they're nervous about " What if nobody showed up"
" you can't kill a show when there's no crowd" both worry about the same thing but have different things in mind.
@@BlindMelonLord I actually have to compliment you with that explanation. Eminem ha a horrible fucking life when he was a child and even he believes that the world we live in is a complete shit hole.
Masterpiece...He went god mode on this one. Its like the movie Shutter Island only its a song. It was 2 different stories being told in one song. Only GOATs can do this type of shit.

I've listened to Eminem since I was little and this one strikes a cord with me. He is one artist that doesn't hide behind excuses, he comes through like the Kool-Aid man with no fucks given. This is why he has done well for a while.
I just want to point out something crypt didn’t catch. Eminem said “I’m a licensed owner with no prior convictions so I’m strapped like a soldier.” This was a reference on how easy it is to acquire those weapons and ammunition

This song blew my mind and makes me think that Eminem is A genius at his craft. He is venting his personal feelings and tying into the Vegas shooter. Basically pointing out that he understands the darkness that motivates these awful crimes. This about Eminems struggle with darkness and his understanding of it. Not that he would do something like this. He simply understand the shadow in himself. Ive listened to this multiple times because its very good. Its too dark though and I think I'll leave it alone fir A while.
Its a triple story. Telling how he feels before a show, when he's alone and away from the world and the las Vegas shooting. Em's a genius

I love the entire meaning to this song. The lyrics, the double entendres, the video. It hits hard but i think the best part, what sells it for me, is "the sound of silence" beat playing in the background, using the line "hello darkness my old friend" over and over and over. When you hear the "hello" line it's quiet and unnerving in the best way, and when you pay attention to the video and especially the end, and you think of "sound of silence" it hurts so much more in a good way
Loved the song, perhaps my favorite on the album. First time seeing the music vid. Gave me chills. Giving the assailant a point of view, very eerie. Good job Em.
Im from Russia, and i like when you breakdown lyrics, so i can understand better what he means, special for double or triple meaning lines. Thanks bro.
Same, I'm from Costa Rica
“Commando with extra clips, I got ammo for all the hecklers
I'm armed to the teeth.”
I love that line, because hecklers refers to people who heckle during shows that Eminem would have ammo for, but it also refers to Heckler & Koch, a weapons manufacturer.

I didnt do it because god stopped me but I'm happy eminem is addressing this. Society wants to blame everyone for mental illness but in reality people know why they do things.
To answer your question about why I watch reactions:
Mostly it’s because I find it super helpful to have someone breakdown the bars and the meanings so I can enjoy the song to its fullest. There’s a lot that can be easily missed, and to be honest, I find you are the best at it and in explaining each meaning while being entertaining, so thanks! It’s not easy to do. To a lesser degree, it’s also fun to watch someone enjoy the same songs/artists that I do, kind of like if you were listening to music with a friend and talking about it.
Personally, I like when you provide both sides of why you like or don’t like aspects of the song. I think it makes the reaction more genuine and provides actual substance to the content rather than many other yotubers who are just trying to only be entertaining but aren’t saying anything of real value.
I think you are great at what you do, and, it’s easy for me to say this, but don’t let the haters get to you. People love to hate, but the rest of us like your style, it’s different than other youtubers,. Keep being true to yourself and producing the kind of content that you want to put out there, regardless of what we think. You will never make all of us happy, but you can tune out the senseless comments, take the ones that are meaningful feedback, and continue doing the things that have made you gain the following and success you have in the first place.
Hope that helps, sorry for the long post and fan boying all over the place :)

The B.A.D. references are referring to that album not Michael Jackson and if he thinks Em is ever gonna give Michael Jackson credit for anything he obviously hasnt followed his music. He makes it so obvious he meant that album and says Cool J's name like it wasnt hard to follow what he was saying.
The loathing in Las Vegas part is a reference to Hunter S. Thomson. His style of writing was gonzo journalism. The specific book Eminem is referencing is and talks about chasing the failed American Dream in a drug induced state.

Props bro. That's some knowledge right there
And first was fear and loathing on the campaign trail. i think Nixon in 1968.
People need to Watch Johnny depp in fear and loathing
dsSa I believe he did such an amazing job because he personally knew Hunter. There is a great video somewhere, where he talks about the first time he met him. Pure gold.
I love your reaction videos cause you break down the bars! Em has so many entendres, and your videos help get into its depth!
I listen to reaction videos because:
1 Pointing out Some things I might completely miss
2 A different perspective on the song
3 the explanation of why he said it ex. A diss to so and so and the meanings behind it
4 when you talk about why you dont like things whether it's just because it doesnt sound good to you, or it says something messed up, when you talk about it you explain why and it helps us understand and know you more as a person.
I'm surprised you did a reaction video to this, it's such a deep and touchy song.
In my opinion EM did an amazing job of laying out his feelings about it, whether I agree or not to the message, it put me right in the spot where I was thinking about so many different things I couldnt grip a single thought - speechless.
To be honest, I've started watching reaction videos to try to see who likes the same songs as me, who understands the same meaning as me, and to see if the song has the same effect on the reactors or not.
Since I'm living in Syria, it's hard to find people who like Eminem or any other priceless gems in the showbiz, so reaction videos have been kind of a resort.
Plus it's really important to see different opinions on the songs, so it's a win-win.
Anyways, I guess you're right, I always listen to the song and enjoy it then I go looking for reactions. I never thought about your perpective.
You're great, man
All respect✌

RespectFreeSpeech GiveMeMuhFreedom You’re a simpleton! ITS FOR AWARENESS! Go back to sleep!
Until one nigga takes it to seriously and GETS INSPIRED to do something like that again
@RespectFreeSpeech GiveMeMuhFreedom You are making it sound like such mass shootings are normal all around teh world, but they are not. Just look at Switzerland. They had their last mass shooting in 2001! The US had over 1900 mass shootings from 2012 to 2018, that is nearly one a day. Something is wrong with that, don't you think so?
@RespectFreeSpeech GiveMeMuhFreedom cool statistics, still doesnt change the fact no one could possibly need a semi auto 50 cal berreta for everyday life
@RespectFreeSpeech GiveMeMuhFreedom i understand where you are coming from and to a degree i agree. However the usa has had more mass shootings from 2012 to 2018 than any other country in the world, more than most of those countries in double that time frame. Ontop of that we DO have some gun control issues, mostly with what kinds of guns we can just walk on out and get. Why the fuck can my cousin own an actual Uzi? what purpose does that serve that cant be solved by a normal ass hand gun? Ontop of that most of our mass shootings are done by fucking kids shooting other kids now. That falls 100% on the adults that legally bought those guns NOT keeping them out of the hands of their fucking kids, THAT is a fucking problem dont you think?
In short my issues are with the types of guns you can freely access with no reason for needing them and for the people that dont keep their guns out of the hands of their 16 and younger children to just casually access whenevery they feel like. Id love a response if youve got the time. Im coming from a heavy military family and grew up around guns and Merica freedom fighters.
I watch reactions to see other perspectives. I enjoy your videos because you have produced music and are experienced in the music field and know what you are talking about.
This song is the best i've heard in awhile it hits so deep it really does bring you back to the recovery days love the relatable side of em
And the reason I like reaction is so I can understand the bars
Same. I dont get 59% of the references
I don't get 69% 🤷🏻♂️
jim bob who?
Misfit Marsh I don’t understand 420% of the song
I get some but not all
I only watch rap reactions, for three reasons:
1. For the bar breakdowns and analysis
2. To hear what other rappers think of the songs
3. To discover new artists
There will always be songs from your favourite artist that you don't really particularly like at least he isn't lying a reaction is people saying how they really feel about the song
I don't normally watch reaction videos. But when I do, your videos are on my to watch list. I definitely dig your creativity and work you put in to your reaction videos. More power Crypt!
me: watches this video
me: oh hey guys Em dropped a song,
my friends: He dropped a album

I love watching reactions to literally see the reactions....mainly to my favorite songs, to see the emotional response, see if they affect someone as much as me. There's something satisfying and wholesome about seeing true emotional expression.
Crypt, I only listen to your reaction videos 😅. I love how perceptive and quick you are to notice all the double entendres and punchlines 😁
*Also I really hope u don’t stop reacting to Eminem album because I want to see how u react when listening EM’s tracks called*
1. *Yah Yah*
2. *I Will* 😈
3. *Leaving Heaven*
yeah those 3.. I really want to see your reaction crypt
I watch RVs to feel like I’m hanging out with someone who can appreciate things in music that I do and don’t have people in my life who care about the same things. I appreciate your point of view because you are one of the few who is willing to make sure to find some type of criticism even if it’s something small. Nothing can get better without notes. I wish you would do the rest of the album but I understand just wanting to be a Stan offline as well. You are the man, Crypt. Keep it up.
I live in an RV
I feel you Cago. I basically have the same situation. No one cares about my opinion and others don't share my interests.
I watch them simply because I miss a lot of the meaning and punch lines. You and no life shaq help me figure it out. Thanks
I haven't listened to Eminem. In a very long time I mean I hear what gets played on the radio. But I got a hunch to listen to his new album just cause I was looking for something new. And this song struck me hard.
I am from Las Vegas lived her first 11 year, I wasn't at the tragic show I had a couple friends there tho. my ex worked at Mandalay Bay. And I remember getting a notification from my snapchat doing the HEY see what's happening in vegas. And spent the WHOLE NIGHT watching the terror and sadness happen... it was horrific the fear I felt not even being there. The sense of hopelessness of what can I do I don't know any of them. But they are my people. We opened our house that night. I donated blood when I could. Ect.
I love that this song targets multiple issues while spreading a devistating story. That could have been anywhere. The horror is becoming too real we fear going to school, movies, concerts, work, HOME. I remember sitting while listening to the aftermath of this event and how this man got away with lbs of weapons and ammo and all this shit. Like HOW?. like do I want medal detectors in our hotels Or shit like that. Idk. This act was straight up.. just like how we heard about 9/11 how people just walked on armed and ready. We go how could we have missed that. To me unacceptable in my head. We should be more aware. And prepared it's better to be overly cautious then allow this shit to continue. We need to do better america and I def don't know what that is. But we need to do better. 😢😢😢 #lasvegasstrong love to those that have perished because of these issues.
i love watching reactions because i like people’s logic and explanations behind the song who have more experience/ professionalism

I watch them to learn more about the lyrics. You help me learn about things and schemes

You always hit the nail on the head man. Youre the only reactor i watch cuz em's the greatest and i love to see other peoples opinions
What I like is that he didn't really express an opinion one way or the other, he's just saying that people need to talk about it. And I appreciate that.
Depends on the reactor like I watch yours reactions for the in depth bar breakdown, I watch shaq for the energetic reactions to the bars, I watch artofkickz for the more emotional side of the songs
Love nolifeshaq he gets me hyped.
Those are my go to reactors... I just discovered artofkickz recently but I can't remember who I found first... Crypt or NoLifeShaq... I love that each brings something different to their reactions. and after watching each one I always have something new I learn... especially with this album. I saw the notification for this video and I watched it shortly after it dropped and I was floored... then I saw in the comments that he had dropped the album in Spotify (I have never been more stoked to have switched from Pandora to Spotify) because once I heard that I listened to the album that night...
Joël Beckers I watch Scriptwork to get a bar breakdown, I enjoy the songs even more afterwards
check out scriptwork
Check out @TheThirdErnest, great breakdowns
I don’t think he’s doing it for just him I think he’s doing it for everyone cause in the end he’s one of the people up on the stage and he’s at higher risk than most he doesn’t want anything to happen to his fans and people cause anything can happen and he doesn’t want it to go on I don’t think any of us do
I agree, I mean just put yourself in his shoes for a bit. You attract crouds like it's nothing and hear all these shootings happening, I can guarantee he feels anxiety everythime he's yp on stage thinking one day this might happen to him.
Yeah taking people rights to protect themselves always make them safer. All the while he has his bodyguards loaded with guns protecting his butt. How brave he is standing up for people.
I watch yours because you break down the meaning of the lyrics and the songs. And also explain them. You’re informative.
I watch you because you are funny and get me through some hard time it means a lot to me when you make your videos
Thank you and keep doing what your doing it's inspirational and helpful
Another double entendre was the line “ I got ammo for all the hecklers” like H&K heckler and Koch and hecklers in the crowd. Barrsssss
Martinez 1221 the whole song was a double entendre from start to finish
As to the "Why do you watch reaction videos"
I feel like, for me anyways, in regards to music reactions it's a few strange things.
Firstly, for this type of music I enjoy watching these to catch the meaning and bars that I might have missed listening on my own. I am by no means a hip hop expert, tend to be more into rock actually, but have wild respect for the lyrical guys like Em and find it fascinating to listen to. Even more, I feel the same about "reactors" like you that can catch it all in one listen, that is almost just as impressive.
My second reason probably sounds petty as hell, but it's the best I can gather from myself.
If I like a particular song/ artist, I enjoy watching other people that like them as well. It's a strange feeling I can't really describe, and I don't think "justification in my tastes" accurately describes it because that sounds awfully shallow, but it's the only phrase that comes to mind initially. It's like watching your kids do well in a school play, except it's "I'm so proud of Eminem for putting out another sick album", if that sounds any better haha.
Furthermore if some drama or a horrible song happens to someone I don't like I enjoy watching other people trash them so I can be like "Yeah, I agree, f*** that guy" ahaha. I know I'm probably alone on these but there's the perspective of a psychopath for ya.
Reaction videos get a bad name on youtube because of the low effort channels, but there is more to the good ones than most people think.
You, No life Shaq, Law Twinz, and MathewsFam all come to mind as some of the ones I enjoy.
Jeff Schofield Agreed all around. I like to see people enjoy the things I like. And if I’m proud of the artist, I like to see people praise them. I didn’t know other people felt that way.

Ur not alone in this. Described exactly what feel. Thanks for writing it all so i don't have to organize my thoughts. ♥️
Same lol dont know why but when a dope song comes out I like to see other people liking it live for some reason
couldn't have said it better myself.
From Portugal , i like the see wat you say, because you are real in wath you say , make a good point of view.. kip makeung good music crypt
This video was great. I had the song spoiled for me when I read something online before forcing myself to really *hear* it and hearing it from your perspective was great because I hadn't even recognized the way he talked in concert terms the whole time. This track was amazing!
Honestly I watch reactions to see how everyone else views the songs that I Iike, and see their opinions whether they like it or not
