I went with the more obvious flavor route and picked Umori. I'm just gonna run all the card draw, ramp, and interaction that I can in a consistent 2 color package. SAH looks like it'll snowball fast and win on its own with just a little self mill, thanks to that Trample and resilience to GY hate.
Feels like a deck you could actually play Demonic Bargain in, since exiling the top 13 of the deck is a bit less of a cost cus you'll be dumping your slimes in there too. Just gotta have multiple tutor targets in mind in case you also accidentally exile your first choice.
Umori may be the most optimal commander for slimes, I think. Golgari colors are a must imo for Surgical Extraction/Extirpate/Demonic Consultation, and tutors to find Thrumming Stone. The other choice that stood out to me was Pippin, Warden of Isengard for the ability to haste your slimes, but the 4 foods needed to sac to the ability makes this way too slow and mostly unimpactful. Setting up Umori on a previous turn makes it easier to cast Thrumming/Slime same turn which can be really important. My brew runs 44 slimes, the rest is ramp, tutors, thrumming, the 2 extraction cards+consultation, concordant crossroads, and a few support cards like Regrowth, Yawgwill, Veil of Summer, and Heroic Intervention. And Greater Good. Not quite a budget list but I think this is the strongest way to build slimes.
I literally just put together a Slime Against Humanity decklist yesterday with exactly 40 SAH. I went with Selvala, Heart of the Wild to be able to get card draw most times I cast SAH
You don't get to draw cards. You create a 0/0 creature every time. Only after it enters the battlefield do you put any counters on it. It's the same reason why Garruk's Uprising doesn't work either.

It is a 0/0 during the resolution of the ability but by the time it resolves and State-based actions are checked again it has the counters. Guess I gotta go tweak that deck

I built a 24 SAH deck. Adrix and Niv as commander to make 2 creatures every cast. Built mine as a draw/mill/ +1/+1 counters. Can't wait to see how it works.

I made my SAH deck the other day on Arena and have been having so much fun with it. I've been having people mill me round 2 and 3 and be confused why I'm so grateful for them to remove my deck lol
So I see a lot of comments saying this won’t work. I am confused on why it wouldn’t. Here’s my theory. Activate Codie, play SAH, exile your deck until you find the single 2 drop spell. In response to the SAH cast, play the instant you just found. The card will exile all the SAH in you Library, Hand, and graveyard right? But what about the cards you exiled to find that spell from Codie? Shouldn’t those all go back into your deck after the counterspell/ mass SAH exile resolves? Correct me if I’m wrong but I feel like this works
380 3 weeks later. Love the deck techs but feeling mtg becoming an elitist game like games workshop games. If you have a huge backstock of cards you are golden but the joke is becoming the most powerful card in mtg is your credit card
First off, big fan of your deck ideas, and this is ambitious and fun. However, i looked at your deck and realized how many lands you're using vs how many spells. Since we're discarding/exiling a good many of them for good effect, it makes me wonder how land flooded we're going to be? I have a suggestion to fix that....flip lands, 😎.
I’m playing Illuna Apex of Wishes, by mutating, I exile until I hit a non land permanent so I just fill the deck with sorcery ramp spells+slime against humanities and value permanents like arcane bombardment/thousand year storm and put it straight to the field
I always toyed around with the idea of a commander relentless rats deck but well, buying 40-50 relentless rats and a decent rat commander is *EXPENSIVE* and time consuming to say the least. Buying 40 Slimes against Humanity is not that much more cheap but it is, as of the time of this video going live, far more plausible to achieve plus I think it's a lot easier to come up with a decent Ooze friendly commander and overall support
Just built a SAH deck with Reyhan, Last of the Abzan & Slurrk, All-Ingesting as partner commanders. 30 SAH, 5 Ooze creatures (Biowaste, Necrotic, Oran-Rief, Predator, Ravenous), and the rest of the deck is devoted to ramp, draw, removal, & mill. (edit: and a few enchants in there to pump up 1+1 counters - doubling season, branching evolution, court of garenbrig, etc)
I know it would booger up the deck you have build. But maybe change out Cody for a Thrumming Stone?? But. Already have at least one Ooze on the field. And a Etherium Spinner (for the thopthers) and cast Mystic Reflections from foretell or hand. Targeting your Ooze. So when you cast a spell 4 or greater cmc (which is alot of this deck) your doubling your Ooze tokens. Lol
This is why I was so adamant on getting deadly cover up, ill always pay 5 mana for a board wipe and its a perfect optional safety net for the "a deck can contain any number of" players
Acidic slime, ooze, and many other nasty oozes and slimes. There are even some counterspells that are technically oozes or slimes according to the lore. This seems pretty decent.
I have a Sovereign okinec slime deck that has been doing really well !! Also I'm working on a Jadzi slime deck haha. But Codie is an awesome commander and great deck building!!
Sorry, but Test of Talents exiles all the Slimes Against humanity from your hand as well. Your strategy counters itself and completely leaves you without Slimes Against Humanity to play. Am I missing something?
with the idea of using gravitic punch in mind, could you also use Callous Sellsword? Codie won't see the card when you're doing your combo, since it's a creature, but you can cast the adventure side for one mana to "fling" one of your oozes at an opponent
Briefly. Then like Dragons approach or petitioners, apostles or rats they will spike significantly until a reprint happens. Foils even more, probably $10 to 15 each in a year or two, it's why I've got 40 NM foils.

Am I missing something? When you counter your slime against humanity, it gets rid of ALL copies from hand, library, and graveyard so you wouldn't have any left to cast and because the initial one is countered you don't even get that slime.
you can choose less than the total amount with test of talents. When you use it in a 60 card format and counter someone else's spell theres no reason to not hit the full number, thats why youre not used to seeing it
Reading the card explains the card... Plus he said "exile like 28 of them, be careful". The counter says find any number, so go find like 27 of them, plus the one you just countered= 30/30 on next cast.

You activate Codie with a 4 cast spell and get a free cast of slime every turn. If you can't close out the game playing big stompies and then some every turn? This tech isn't for you then.

That line "in exile" does so much heavy lifting.

I use umari for black to be able to use surgical extraction on my first slime against humanity to exile 20 or so to instantly ramp up the rest

On Arena make sure to turn on Full Control in order to be able to counter your Slime.
I created an Adrix and Nev, Twincasters deck, I included manipulate Fate, it lets you exile 3 SAH, and replaces itself for just 1 and a Blue.
Token doubling does't work, it will only create a 0/0 Token that dies

Put each other card exiled this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.
It allows you to exile as many as you want from your hand, deck, and graveyard. No need to exile them all.
The Counter is "Any Number" so you don't need to exile all of them. Probably half of what's in your deck should do it

Dislike playing against these on arena. It was especially powerful in the jumpstart packs
What I find funny is theirs a girl in my local game shop that has been collecting so many of these

Codie is only here for the activation that triggers the exile. U can play any green creature+ and build Round

So, I recommend only exiting about 20 to 25 for commander and 28 to 30 for brawl. It makes for an exciting 6 turn brawl game.
Test of Talents makes you search for ANY number of cards with the same name and exiles them, meaning you get to choose how many to search and exile.
That can't work. all cards go into exile. How can you continue playing with it?

You counter the slime you are casting. Then go find however many you want to exile and go from there.
